The ballhead can handle the 11 pounds this combo claims but the tripod doenst at some angles/positions. The most impressive is to UNDERSTAND that if you buy this combo it doesnt mean that it will replace your regular (big) tripod. This tripod works wonderfull if you "hug" something with the legs. It also works fast for macro... as you can check in my video. This tripod would have save me a lot of time asking strangers to take pictures of me and my girlfriend while traveling in Paris and Brussels. In my video you can see how it handles a Nikon D90 + Freestyle Grip with 2 batteries + 18-200mm VRII + SB600 flash. I also tested it with a heavier D300 + 70-300mm VR + SB600 zoom. I am impressed with how this combo was able to keep everything thight hanging from a door and a tree arm. I... Amazing tripod for SLR cameras Chap Video Review Length:: 0:40 MinsThe gorillapod foucs is a great tripod for slr proprietress's with large zoom lens. I use a and have a attached to it. Even with the lens fully extended the camera doesn't vibrate or drop down. The tripod is also very light weight which makes it ideal for travel. The only CON of the product is that the legs are a bit steep and makes it a bit hard to wrap the legs around an structure. If you can live with that this is the best travel tripod for slr users For all time, a Gorillapod that will hold up my camera - usually Gorillapods are best, but you need one thats one-model stiffer than what Joby says. For example, get this one if you have a D300, and dont require it to hold it up very well with a 600mm/2.8 lens on it. But it will hold it up with medium size lenses. My prior one, one model down, was not strong enough for me to be comfortable putting a D300 on with anything heavier than the 18-200 mounted. Rightful be careful - its easy to dump your camera with this thing if you're not.

Induro BHD2 Ballhead (Black)
Details
DescriptionInduro has brought the thorough ballhead to a new level. The new BHD2 dual-action ballhead offers increased load capacities, big ergonomic locking knobs, adjustable drag and tension control, independent panning management and much more. To provide maximum strength and lighter weight, the BHD2 ballhead is made of precision-machined Magnesium adulterate. In response to photographers’ requests, the Induro BHD2 has an Arca-Swiss style quick release dish system for maximum compatibility and flexibility. The BHD2 ballhead is designed to handle virtually any shooting place and equipment – from compact still and video cameras, to full-sized professional gear. The intellect has a 3/8”-16 thread base mount and includes a matching Arca-Swiss compatible Quick Release Camera Coat.Customer ReviewsTremendous First Step UpI upgraded to the Induro BHD2 Ballhead from the Manfrotto Pedals Head Manfrotto 322RC2 Joystick Head Short and am very pleased with the switch, so I'll file the few pros and cons between the two. The major pro (and the reason I switched) is that the Induro head supports a heavier stuff with no creep or sagging. I can put my 5D Mark II with a large lens like the 70-200 securely. This was my only nagging with the Manfrotto Joystick, if you put a large lens on it in portrait mode the Manfrotto just doesn't grasp up and starts... An Terrific Value! I got this employer to replace my Manfrotto 322RC2 grip head, which I did not like at all. I'm pleased to say that this Induro block b stop has met all of my expectations. The separate controls for panning, drag, and lock are all excellent. The drag curb allows you to adjust it to just the right point for smooth movement, then you simply about and lock it down with the large knob. I found no sagging or creeping with my Canon 40D, grip, two batteries, and a 300mm f/4 lens mounted all together. Campaign is smooth and silky. Compared to the Markins Q3, this head is a great value, at nearly $150 less than the Markins. The Induro even brings an Arca Swiis sort camera plate, something the other manufacturers make you order separately, and at upwards of $60 in beyond to the head. Do yourselves a favor and get the Induro instead. Forget the Markins, Arca Swiss, Gitzo, and all the other extremely extreme priced heads out there. This Induro does the job, and then some. WOW - Now THAT's a ballmount !! At first, I compassion I'd have to buy the largest size (the Induro BHD3)to get something substantial/good as the reallyrightstuff or other brands - all of which seemed far more expensive to me. I've been a manufacturing set up for twenty two years, and I know what it costs to make things... enough to know that a rock-compressed ball-head should not cost more than $250... even if made in the USA. I've owned Manfrottos mounts - they're great, and they have a cold tone that can only mean thick cast metal. And although this mount is light, and obviously made of sheet metal (i.e. the 2" ball is ineffective) the grip is absolutely firm... you cannot move the camera period !!. Also - the slightly smaller villainous diameter fits perfectly on a full-size tripod... it looks like it was lawful meant to be exactly there.

Have already used the set up with my D200 Nikon and Tamron 18-270mm. Got some pics of the moon, proper not the ones that i wanted. I was going for the eclipse but i think i was too early. I'll try again some other time. The Sirui G-20 Ballhead worked full. I ordered this ballhead because i wanted to be sure it could hold my camera and Sigma 150-500mm lens. I have not tried that conjunction yet, but I'm sure it will be just fine. I would recommend this product to a friend. And as usual, there was no problem buying on-rule at Amazon. SO FAR SO Wares The ballhead looks indomitable and well done. I tried it with my Caono 7D and Canon L 24 - 105 lens and so far so good. Both are heavy and I needed a ballhead that would effort and keep them firmly secured at the same time. I chose this ballhead as it was not as expensive as the other more popular makes on the market and looked as edible as the others. I also checked other reviews and decided to give this new company a try. I have not used it outside my home yet. It did come with a implement pouch which I am not using as was able to leave it attached to the tripod, smae make, in quod the bag it came with. I am not a pro photographer, just studying and taking photos for my kennel and friends. I will update this critique in the future and let you know if it is as good as it looks and feels.
