The top-mount flash bracket shares many features of the smaller sidemount bracket. Austere no-fuss design lets users get on with shooting and not mess with knobs, sliders, flippers or other gadgets. We listened to what you wanted, and we have delivered. The bracket is 11" leggy placing most flashes approximately 12" away from the centre of the lens. For use with a telephoto lens and TOP-MOUNT gimbal make head (or ballhead). The quick-release system mounts to any arca-swiss compatible plate, including our own SureFoot Plates. You MUST use a double-barrelled-dovetail plate, or an adapter on an older style plate. A rubberized grip provides a more acceptable place to hold the bracket while positioning. Extremely lightweight! Only 7.9oz (220 grams) Moonless anodized aircraft aluminum and all stainless steel hardware for extreme outdoor use. REQUIRED: Mounts to off-camera shoe cords or isolated slaves with a standard 1/4"-20 thread. (You must somehow connect the flash to the camera... keep that in mind!)

Tolerable plate with affordable price!
I was upon to buy this product. I bought Generation 4 before to use with my 500/2.8 and I also have RRS plate. I love them. When I saw this product and its price, I fitting wanted to give it a try (for my Nikon 300/2.8 VR). From the product info, I'm supposed to buy LP-115 for that lens. I intelligence I ordered the wrong one, but actually this LP-100 fits perfectly with Nikon 300/2.8 VR foot. I even reckon it would be a little too long for LP-115. Anyway, the quality of the product is great. It does not look cheapo as I would presume. It comes with everything needed. However, one thing that I can notice, it's a little bit heavier than RRS at the same size. But it's subtle though. If you paucity to save some $$, this is it.

Well-meant lens plate
If you paucity a lens plate with anti-twist tabs, the entire RI LP-nnn series works Non-Standard real well. And the price is really right.One nice feature is the slot for the mounting screw comes to within 1/2" of the anti-falsification tab. I have a couple of small footprint spotting scopes (and some mini clamps) that need this thin on the ground before distance to engage the tab. On some competing lens plates, the slot stops too far away from the tab, presentation the anti-twist feature useless.I also find the centerline 1/4" accessory hole comes in dexterous for all kinds of ad hoc mounting applications (e.g. mini-clamp to make a nodal slide or macro foot-rail, mini-ballhead for outboard mic, etc.). I have competing lens plates that lack this cavity, and I quickly come to miss it.As for compatibility, I own dozens of Arca-Swiss style plates and clamps from seven remarkable manufacturers (including Arca-Swiss). Works, but gives a spot
Does the job in the end, but I noticed that the domination isn't as tight with a Monoball Z1 Flip-lock quick release mechanism as arca-swiss brand plates. There is a unimportant slide forward and backward when I use this with a Sony 70-400mm G lens and tripod collar. I don't expect it will completely slide off, but it makes me nervous about using the plate in the long term, and I will possibly replace this plate with an Arca-Swiss brand plate.

What a bigger disappointment! I bought one of these so-called arca swiss compatible lens plates for mounting to a Sigma lens tripod band. The finish quality of the plate is fine. While the plate has the correct shape, the plate is manufactured shed weight too narrow so the plate cannot be secured to an arca swiss tripod head. This plate just slides loosely within the arca swiss mount. I decent wasted my time and (money if I don't get a refund.) What was I thinking to try one of these plates. I just ordered a faulty mounting plate of the same brand like the plate that came with my tripod head. Do not rub out your time purchasing these plates if you are expecting them to work with an arca swiss compatible tripod head. THEY DON'T. The manufacturing of these plates be in want of to be corrected!
