Huge alternative to pricier plates
I got this memorandum to have an L-plate on my Pentax K-5. It fits snugly without rotating and the lip on the bracket fits flawlessly against the back of the camera body, making it very secure. It fits into the two Arca-Swiss tripod heads that I own. It does NOT tolerate the battery door of the K-5 to open when installed. Not a problem for me, but I may but a few mm off the end to allow the battery door to expansive.

I had been looking at the Genuinely Right Stuff L plates for my new 60D, but I'm so happy I saved money and went with this plate. It fit my 60D entirely. I was concerned about it covering the battery compartment, but not at all. It's solidly built and beautiful. I'm thrilled I went with this!!
Consumable Quality
I was surprised at the shape quality of this L-Bracket. I do not own any original arca swiss equipment to compare but i can tell from the finish and weight that it will last. Fits of laughter very neatly on a Nikon D200 allowing full opening of battery compartment. However it does not admit the side caps for the USB and video out/power adaptor to open (hence 4 stars). Personally i don't mind this because i do not use these services on the D200 since i use a card reader. I love the slim design and ablity to clamp camera description to do panoramas. Bought this with their 60mm arca type QR clamp and both came in well padded boxes BUT with no manual/instructions. The clamp is also excellent excellence (see my review for it - [...]).

Works high-minded with Really Right Stuff lever clamp!
Since not all Arca fad plates are the same, and Really Right Stuff (RRS) even says on their website that not all plates from other manufacturers effort with their lever quick release clamp, I thought I'd leave a review. This plate works matchless with my RRS lever clamp, so if you were hesitant to buy don't be. Build quality is excellent and the price at the time I ordered was $39.99, $60 less than the comparable RRS replacement foot for the Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR.

Did not fix to lens well
The foot fit into my Arca-Swiss clamp hands down enough but it would not attach to the lens tight so there was a lot of movement. The original Nikon foot secures vigorously without any movement.
Acratech lively release plates are designed to allow access to all camera controls and functions without removing the panel
Acratech does not cut a rifling under the head of the mounting screws which weakens them at a point where they are already most likely to break

A minimalists coat
This plating is a little different than your run of the mill A/S plate for the 50D. It's a lot smaller, and a lot lighter. It has no tripod socket, no strap connection, nothing that would add weight or bulk. Yet it holds the camera very securely, and is more than strong enough. Quite simply, if you necessity the best connection with the least bulk and weight, this is your plate.

GS5160CDT Arca Swiss-Type Portion DOES NOT WORK
So... the above re-examine is right-on-the-money. I should, I realize, but almost NEVER-ever write out reviews like this, but I'm so ticked off at Gitzo for selling a result that does not work... that I just have to this time. This is there product: The "Gitzo GS5160CDT Arca Swiss-Type Illustration". It is designed in order for you to adapt any Arca Swiss QR plate or L brackets to your Gitzo Ballhead. I called "Undeniably Right Stuff", as well as "Kirk" and BOTH agreed that this adapter plate is crap. I quote "Yeah, the Gitzo Rep. came out and he couldn't even get it to fit when he gave a evidence." So... what the hell. Why are they selling something for $40 (average price) when it does not do what it says it is theoretical to do??? Therefore, if you really want to use an "L Bracket" system for your Legs (tripod)... then spend the addendum cash on a better ballhead first. The Gitzo head are less expensive, and now, maybe I know why...
Did not fit
This part did not fit: it would not fashion my gitzo G2272M ball head to my Kirk BL-D300 Arca-type L Bracket. It may have been defective. Redux: a replaceement part was indistinguishable. This part does not do what it purports to do. THis will not adapt a Gitzo "safety" quick release system, like the G2272M low clean up head to an Arca-swiss bracket like the Kirk L-bracket BL-D300. I don't know what it does, but it does not do this. The Kirk L-rank is okay, so the problem isn't there. At this time, there is no way to use Arca-swiss style L-Brakcets with the Gitzo "safety" quick publicity system. This part was supposed to adapt the two, but doesn't.
Don't even take a certainty
This adapter is supposititious to fit Arca Swiss plates. As other people who have tried this adapter have found out it doesn't fit all Arca Swiss plates. I tried to modify it by filing in down. After severals hours - no chance. Good money and effort thrown away. I also bought a Gitzo G065 watch platform and it was so poorly constructed I had to return it - twice. I eMailed Gitzo about the problems and didn't get a response. I just don't understand it. Gitzo has made good tripods for many years. But they have lost it with this adapter and the keep an eye on platform.
