A strict ball head at a reasonable price
I lover this thing. This is the second ball head I have owned and the nicest. The knobs are nicely machined and role with precision. It handles a heavy weight and stays in place. It has 3 bubble levels to aid in keeping the range straight. It is also able to pan which eliminates the need for a separate pan head. This is an excellent starting setup.

The value choice for ball hesads
As first and foremost a nature and landscape photographer, I was looking for a ball head that would support my various lenses and do well in the field. When reading what well known and proobably well paid photographers were using for their tripod head, I was shocked to learn how valuable they could be. The cost of one of the most popular heads could run as high as $400 or more. I looked at the giotto MH-1000 because it would fit my requests and not break the bank. I was surprised at how well it performed. It worked flawlessly, yet costing a fraction of what be like ball heads were selling for. It also came with an arca-swiss quick release plate which meant I could use frills such as the kirk L-bracket which allowed for quicker and more stable withching between vertical and horizontal aspects. Now I also have more things to buy for my head because of the arca-swiss sheet. I wholehearedly recommend this head as a value alternative to the kirks and arca-swiss products, You...
Forceful performer
I recently purchased this shot head from the Adorama store in NYC. First of all the people at Adorama were very helpful and knowledgeable. When I listed my requirements for a capsule head (good quality, fluid movement, bubble levels, quick release, and the faculty to hold over 10lbs), I was given four different ball heads to review. Two of them were Adorama's own brand and then two Giottos (one being this one). It took me only a few minutes to "have fun" with the 1000-652 and I knew this was the ball head for me.The movement is silky smooth and secure when tightened down. The mess marks on the base are easy to read. The quick release is secure when fastened to the capsule head.I also like the way it looks with my carbon fiber tripod which is black. :)

Abundant First Step Up
I upgraded to the Induro BHD2 Ballhead from the Manfrotto Reins Head Manfrotto 322RC2 Joystick Head Short and am very pleased with the switch, so I'll list the few pros and cons between the two. The critical pro (and the reason I switched) is that the Induro head supports a heavier load with no creep or sagging. I can put my 5D Hallmark II with a large lens like the 70-200 securely. This was my only gripe with the Manfrotto Joystick, if you put a beamy lens on it in portrait mode the Manfrotto just doesn't hold up and starts...
An Distinguished Value!
I got this head to substitute my Manfrotto 322RC2 grip head, which I did not like at all. I'm pleased to say that this Induro head has met all of my expectations. The separate rudder for panning, drag, and lock are all excellent. The drag control allows you to adjust it to unprejudiced the right point for smooth movement, then you simply turn and lock it down with the large protrusion. I found no sagging or creeping with my Canon 40D, grip, two batteries, and a 300mm f/4 lens mounted all together. Upward is smooth and silky.Compared to the Markins Q3, this head is a great value, at nearly $150 less than the Markins. The Induro even brings an Arca Swiis make camera plate, something the other manufacturers make you order separately, and at upwards of $60 in additionally to the head. Do yourselves a favor and get the Induro instead. Forget the Markins, Arca Swiss, Gitzo, and all the other extremely high priced heads out there. This Induro does the job, and then some.

WOW - Now THAT's a ballmount !!
At first, I brown study I'd have to buy the largest size (the Induro BHD3)to get something substantial/good as the reallyrightstuff or other brands - all of which seemed far more expensive to me. I've been a manufacturing rig for twenty two years, and I know what it costs to make things... enough to know that a rock-strong ball-head should not cost more than $250... even if made in the USA.I've owned Manfrottos mounts - they're great, and they have a cold touch that can only mean thick cast metal. And although this mount is light, and obviously made of sheet metal (i.e. the 2" capsule is hollow) the grip is absolutely firm... you cannot move the camera period !!.Also - the lose smaller base diameter fits perfectly on a full-size tripod... it looks like it was justifiable meant to be exactly there.

If you already have a acute quality ballhead and tripod, and you don't want to buy an expensive Gimbal head, this is the way to go. The adapter is extremely well made and is close and light weight. Just make sure that your equipment meets the weight requirements of the adapter. I've been using it for several weeks with my EOS 50D and 400 mm DO lens. It works like a cultivation.
A must for you monopod, this is a elemental tilt head to allow a camera on a Monopod to be turned 90° to provide either vertical or flat format. This replaces the Bogen Manfrotto 3232.

Refined tilt head
It's rated to 5.5 lbs, and handles my 70-200 + 40D without slipping. It's well made - the photo on Amazon does it small-minded credit, so I'm uploading some of my own. It's also larger than it looks.It's exactly what it purports to be - a tilt head.

Manfrotto 234 head
I was reasoning I should have ordered the Manfrotto head that had the locking plate but after getting this head I realized that I would be just fine without the locking head blueprint. It seems to hold the camera well and although I have the 70-300 lens it seems to hold it in place just fine without loose. I like it and would say it's okay for general use.
Full Match for a Monopod
This was the quickly head for a monopod (I use a Manfrotto 680B). I can swivel the Tilt head and camera vertically - and since the monopod itself can undoubtedly turn left or right, I did not need horizontal swivel capability in the head. And it is compact, reasonably priced and unyielding.

Out of this world ballhead from Induro
The BHD3 ballhead from Induro is a irrefutable mount. I have a Canon 5D Mk3 and this mount provides easy to use adjustments with excellent stability. The force control has a good feel with adequate range for fine tension adjustment. Other adjustments are speedy and easy. The camera can be moved into portrait mode with ease. The BHD3 mount weighs 1 kg and can take a cargo of 25 kg. It goes well with the Induro AT413 tripod.

OK, but not prominent...
This head is big and clunky. It's not very glassy, and when you move the ball around, a white residue gets all over the ball. I'm not sure if it's some kind of dry lubricant, or solely the internal plastic wearing off. Spend the extra $50 and get the BHL2. It's smaller, and half the power, but supports the same camera weight.
