I'm so thrilled with it, I may buy a 2nd one.
I looked at a few of these online and I ended up buying this one. I liked that it was rechargeable and that it came with a classify to attach it to my tripod. I used it off and on throughout the night. I will say it didn't last the whole evening. But after everything I read about the other ones on the bazaar, I'd have to say that's a pretty normal problem. It's small, lights up the room really well and overall I'm so blithesome with it I'm thinking of buying another one so I can make it through a whole night of picture taking.

In quick "WOW" they work Great!
I bought 3 of these to use for paranormal scrutiny when ghost hunting. I have a Sony camcorder with "NightShot" (0 Lux) and needed more infrared lighting so my camcorder could see sport in total darkness. When I got them I used just (1) of the lights in our basement with the camcorder. Turned on the camcorder and could see about 10ft or so, turned on the IR Witty and "WOW"! It was like turning night into day!! I could see the whole area with just one of these. Then went outside in back yard and tried all (3) lights and was astonished at how they just flooded the whole area with infrared light. My camara had no problems seeing my dogs on-going about about 50' to 60' away. I could not see them but the camera could with the IR Lights. Comes with a rechargeable battery but did to a different place with that and did the conversion. Now instead of about 45mins to 1hour of use I get a little over 3hrs of lighting on 1 set of batteries. Great commodity for the price!

All I can say is WOW.
Yes WOW, I have a hardly any compact vivitar 510 Camcorder that doesn't put out much IR Light, so I decided to use this Polaroid IR light with it, figured I would get a bit better light with it, what I didn't expect was a lot of light and so much help I can turn off all the other IR and UV lights in each live I have have them in for extra light for my other Camcorders and camera's, this little thing is rechargeable and puts out a lot of faint! I make my own light buy purchasing IR and UV LED's and building them myself, some of my bigger lights are really good for dream of distance and this new IR light is almost comparable to them which says a lot. Why don't I just use them you might ask, well for one they are much bigger and some of them need to be plugged in. This mean IR light is so handy and easy to carry with the included mounting bracket that I attach the camcorder and the put a match to and off I go without any worries!Buy one or more if you can afford them because they are...

Not very witty in complete darkness when viewing through IR cam
When viewing this through the camera, the IR does show up, but it doesn't layout very far- it would only be good for up close illumination.

It is one of the choicest IR illuminator I ever purchased, but you have to use the right camera to get the best effect, because it is a 940nM invisible LED light, not many camera will travail good, check your camera spect to see if it work with 940nM IR . Sima -SL-100IR "Simplify up the Night"
This is really a great little light. It at least doubles my cameras night vision capability. I would go together with many other reviewers - the one negative is the short battery life, but a good product nonetheless.
This is the Awful ITEM.
This is not the SL-100IR light up.The SL-100IR light has 36 LED lights. This one has 9.Also, you can get the correct item (36 LED) at B&H Photo for less than one-third what they are charging here.I do not travail for B&H Photo. I am a consumer. I just don't like seeing people paying this much, especially for the fail item.

These lights move with a BUILT IN NON RENEWABLE LITHIUM BATTERY. This means that once it is used up the light isn't any good anymore. I purchased two of these lights from Antonline throuth Amazon.com. Both lights were not adept to accept a charge because they were either defective or USED. They did offer me a full refund but I had to pay $10.00 of my own money for postage in disposition to ship it back and get the refund. They do not pay for postage return.

Acceptable light
I run a paranormal scrutiny group in Portland, OR and currently use the SIMA SL-20IR (3 of them), a Sony HVL-IRM and a Sony HVL-IRH2. The best lambaste of all for illumination is the SIMA but with a short battery life (~45 minutes) and a brutal recharge at the same time (~3 hours) they aren't very practical. Both Sony lights and the Phantom give off either a square or rounded beam of IR light whereas the SIMA is more of a flood light that illuminates the entire area. However, with the freestyle issues I was looking for a decent light that would do the job.The Phantom runs on a 9-volt with approximately a 12 hour duration making it ideal. It is very light and smaller than I expected which is nice. It does emit a reverberating beam of light but is bright in zero light conditions. I'm still hoping someone can make a insignificant as good as the SIMA but with the battery life of the Phantom or Sony lights.I own 3 SIMA lights which adds up to around $110 but all three came with a combine. A must have for infrared camcorders!
This at the ready little device is perfect for anyone needing a good portable infrared illuminator for use with their IR camcorder. I've only taken this on one paranormal discovery procedure (so far), but my team and I were all very impressed with the viewable distance as well as the battery life.

Incomparable Light
I bought a 36 tuber Night Vision Illuminator (different brand) that lights up the dark perrdy good, but I needed more insignificant. I saw the Phantom NV and thought it would be a good idea to try a different company to compare quality.WOW this quirk is like a NV spotlight compared to the other one! Strange thing is.. it uses less bulbs. It is more conveinent that is takes a 9V mobile too. The only down fall is I think they should throw in a mounting bracket for free instead of selling it seperately.Casper

Infer being able to see in total darkness, it's easy with any standard CCD video camera and this really aloof Infra-Red illuminator! There's nothing magic about this kit - it's just an array of 24 high intensity IR LED's and appropriate vim circuitry. The real magic is in the CCD video camera. CCD sensors are sensitive to IR light that you can't see, thus light up the scene with IR and the camera sees just fine. We've selected extra high force LED's that are absolutely invisible to anybody (except for aliens and Casper), the whole board draws about 150 to 180 mA at 12 volts DC. Poor size allows easy hiding in clocks, smoke detectors, pictures or any draw the line at your devious mind can think of. No your camera must be proficient to "see" infrared (night vision) if it does not have it then it wont labour.
