A wonderful, wonderful in keeping snap of equipment.
This camera is a fine fantastic piece of equipment. The IR mode is a wonderful feature, and it has the standard picture mode as well. The portrait quality in IR mode is good at best, but what do you expect with 6 IR LED lights? I have noticed smearing if the camera isn't still, which can be degree annoying. The video mode gives very good quality as well, however there is no sound playback on the camera. It has to be uploaded to the computer. I ordered an IR illuminator which will fix this trouble in an instant. The battery life is good at best as well, however I discovered that the camera actually charges off of my car mare for my BlackBerry. I was VERY excited when discovering this.Even if you're not a paranormal investigator, this camera is still very good for regular exact replica taking. The IR mode in daylight gives a VERY cool effect on photos. In the dark, the bolt good indoors, and even outdoors, it's pretty good. There is no sound feedback on the camera when reviewing...

profound price for night vision
Agreeably camera. I bought it just for the night vision. It's small and lightweight. The night revenant is great but really need a tripod so the pic taken isn't blurry. The range of night dream is good for a room but not really outside too much. The battery doesn't last too long but overall it was advantage the price.

Does what it says
It's an IR run, and does what it says. It's tough to shoot through the lens, but if you can work with the filter you can take some incredible images! The IR weed out opens up a new visual world for your camera. Trees are ghostly white, skin has an other-carnal quality to it. Do your research on the format and you can take some nice pictures. It brings about much creativity.You won't be taking any X-ray photos with it ;)The lens itself is of a chock-a-block construction. You will need a soft sleeve to keep in your camera kit, as the plastic box it comes in is only good for the expression.

Take your photography to the next even
This is an wonderful filter that will unlock a totally new world for your personal photography collection. I have read about a lot of populace saying it won't work on their camera and I have a Nikon D50 and a Cannon XSi and it works fine on both. You just have to be unwavering that you adjust your exposure time and your f stop to allow enough light in. However make sure you actualize that the exposure time will be long (around 3 seconds with appropriate f-stop and ISO 200, to 30 seconds) so a tripod will be needed. Unless you undo your built in IR filter which will essentially turn the camera into an IR only device. For the ultimate IR pictures scoot in RAW and play around in photoshop it's incredible. Take your time play around with F-stop, ISO, exposure time, and Ghastly Balance settings and get ready for amazing pictures.

Opened up a new category of photography for me
I have had this issue for a few weeks now, and I am liking it more and more as I become better at infrared photography, and this has opened up a new genre of photography for me that I never in point of fact considered before.I am no expert in this category, but I did try to do a lot of research before I purchased this lens. I mainly wanted one due to the actually creative and beautiful black & white photos that I have seen taken with an infrared clarify. I have purchased other Opteka filters that I liked for the quality and materials used, although they are on the pricey side.I reach-me-down this filter with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi, with a 17-85mm IS USM Canon lens, and it fit snugly. Some other filters I have tried sometimes fit very loosely, and always scares me to use them, so this was a alto-rilievo 'high relief' for me. D90 not the most adroitly choice for IR
Strainer is very good, but D90 is not the best choice for IR shooting. You need 30 sec on ISO 1600 in bright clarity to get something. Since I bought it just for fun that doesn't bother me.

it works grand for infrared photography
i against this on my ricoh grd2 for infrared photography. it works just like the hoya r72 and it's cheaper.
Honourable for the price and works as advertized.
It blocks non infra red and functions as mentioned in the memoir. I bought it for my Sony HDR-SR11 camcoder and I use it with the night vision mode. I am yet to use it for serious photography or movies.

I recently knock in love with infrared photography, and figured an infrared filter was a must-have. I definitely am satisfied so far. After following Photoshop tutorials my pictures are looking rather amazing. Before I bought this I did tons of research, and hoped that this was a good alternative to the expensive Hoya R72 filters. I've never toughened Hoya though before, but my bet is that this is the same filter, only cheaper. So far, so good. And as far as x-ray goes, I don't know if this works although after searching online I found that it is plainly possible since 100% cotton is supposedly transparent in the infrared light spectrum. Promise you don't buy this for that though! Great product!
