Worked momentous with a Kodak Playsport
It outperformed the Kodak Playsport Zx5 in the Maui effervescent water.I tested the buoyancy numerous time as it was just buoyant enough to float up and was easily well-defined when dropped in the ocean. It worked when I lost it in the water while swimming or playing. It was also loose enough on the wrist that it did not promote irritation, however if you are looking for something snug... this might not be it. I was also able to stuff the camera and the strap into one of my swimming direct's pockets... my camera fell out of a pocket once... it was no problem as it floated to the skin and I noticed it and found it.

Intimate Product...
Well I bought this from Video Camera Forefront and it got here pretty fast. When I got it, I opened it up and it was a little defected. The buoyancy of the floating part, the red, it pretty accomplished... But my strap was separated from it. You could easily see this in the water and I immediately contacted customer marines and they sent me a new one. I didn't even have to send back the old one! Also- for anyone as blond as me, you take the loop part and put that in, and you can detach the little stubby part you see at the spontaneous end of the loop. One other thing- I gave this to my teen and she's a little skinny so even when the adjuster part is at the very closest to the red- it is still a smidgen bit loose. Then again, that's not it's real main purpose. Anyways, worth it for only $7. Thank you!

Does the job at a low honorarium
The strap does not rearrange tightly to my average size male wrist, but it is tight enough so the strap won't easily not fail over my hand. Should be tight on upper arm if desired. Flotation is sufficient for a small point-n-offshoot waterproof camera (Olympus "Tough") but I wouldn't count on it keeping a larger camera or camcorder on the skin. Bright color should be visible in most conditions. The quick detachment feature is nice for in and out of the the finest kayaking/snorkeling/hiking/beach combing when you sometimes want the strap attached and sometimes don't. At this value point it is cheap protection for a small camera.
It's guaranteed submersible to 15 feet (5 metres).
You can flash video right through hard lens window of the camcorder case - even underwater.

Did what I wanted
Buyer Video Review Length:: 1:20 MinsOn the beach towel I turned on my Canon HD Vixia HF200 and started to track record. Then I put the camera in the bag on top of a little bit of toilet paper (so I could quickly tell if it was leaking) and spent about a before you can say 'Jack Robinson' carefully zipping the bag closed. I tried to get out as much air as possible before zipping. I gently tried to unzip to draw up sure it was closed. Then did a couple of rolls of the end to make the Velcro stick. Rolled again for the advance strip of Velcro for triple protection. Grabbed the snorkel gear and went into the lagoon. When done I went to the spray to get the salt water off. Went back to the towel and dried off the outside of the bag and carefully and dryly opened the bag and stopped the recording. The recording was 25 minutes and I cut the dross out from my camera and even more from the computer. Here is just a little more than a minute of that recording near a waterfall.

Have only tested while fully under spray, but the bag kept all water out.For use of camera and bag during rain, the bag kept my camera dry and I was still able to take both still and video shots with my Canon HV20 -- flipped the LCD vision screen outward.

Proclivity it!
I from day one bought a Sony DSC-S950, for around half the price of this camera, but I returned it the same day due to a faulty burst bulb. I decided to upgrade to the W290, because I wasn't very happy with the S950 - it felt sale-priced, and lacked features.I've put together this list of pros and cons of this camera. Don't let the seemingly long file of cons scare you though, as they are all quite minor and not even important enough for me to rate this camera anything less than 5 stars. I only just felt it was necessary to list everything I could think of. Sorry, I couldn't properly review the HD Video skill, because I don't have the HD cables (see below), and my computer seems to be too slow to properly play back HD video.Pros:-BRILLIANT colors! Comparing the Sony DSC-W290 to the Canon SX110IS.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE Meditative ABOUT PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT, SEE WARNING BELOW!My wife and I are planning a long vacation trip and needed a compendious, but versatile, alternative to a full blown DSLR. I've owned this little camera for just 20 hours, but can tender some first impressions. We bought a Canon SX110IS at Christmas for our daughter. Compared to the jewel-like Sony, the Canon's increase quality seems substantially less. However, it has a 10X optical zoom compared to Sony's 5x, but 9 mega pixel relentlessness compared to 12.1 on the Sony. I doubt that the image quality difference will be notable, but I will update this when I can get a valid comparison.One of the main reasons I picked the Sony over the Canon is that it is truly terse. While the Canon is small, the Sony is flat - less than 1" thick - and hardly shows in a pocket (although I have ordered a turns out that). Comparatively speaking, its LCD screen is huge and bright (but does not swivel like some Canons). BTW,...
Consequential camera with some set backs
This camera does take enthusiastic pictures. These days the cameras are very easy to operate with all of the auto settings and advanced lineaments detection and scene recognition - it's hard to mess up a shot. This camera is no exception and makes the drug feel like a pro when taking pictures. However, here are some things to think about when buying this camera:1) The tiller are on the right rear side of the camera. In particular the W/T buttons and the directional pad/button - the W button is inhuman to press and the left side of the dpad as well. For some reason they are right up against the right side of the 3" screen which causes a riddle and you have to either reposition your finger or use your nail to press the buttons I mentioned. No, I don't have large fingers - it is rightful a design flaw. The buttons are set below the screen - if they were raised there would not be a problem. If you really want to see what I menial look at the pictures here on Amazon and zoom in on the back panel...

respect buying something else
When I squeezed the tube to get out a slight silicon grease, I got mostly air and hardly any grease just enough to cover the head of a pencil surely not $5.49 worth.I went to our local hardware store and purchased a tin of silicon oil for $1.98. It had no air and 10 times the grease that the Fantasea tube had. I suggest that you do the same.Clinton Bergstrom

Consumer beware. Tiny tube, about 2 drops of grease....the rest was all air. They should be ashamed to peddle a product like this.

crap!
i bought this to lube the seals of my waterproof cameras. there are 2 rather flat seals on both of my cameras... a total of four seals. the grease inside was barely enough to layer those once! it was mostly air. being in the army part of my job is mainting equipment. obviously 1 piece of equipment is my weapon. i know how to energetic lube last a long time! the silicon grease that comes in the container is a fine oil... that being said this product is garbage! i agree with clinton... buy a tin from your local arms store. this product... dont buy!!!

Buy and delivery experience
The delivering was very fast and satisfactory. However dissapointing is the high transport cost (higher than the actual advantage) and as final suprise the invoice from FEDEX for VAT , based on the full amount, including shipping, so another raise of almost 20 %.
Worked entirely
I picked this housing up the weekend before I went to Mexico to go plunging, and it worked perfectly. I use a T33 (not the T3 it was designed for). After taking out the spacers that are intended for the T3, it took me all of 10 seconds to hasp the camera into the housing.My first dive, I took the housing down to 80ft without the camera - this was recommended to me by another guy on the boat (and it was recommended to him by the instructions in his Canon housing.) No issues with the empty housing on that sound, so I dove it 8 more times over the next few days, eventually taking it down to 106ft without a single problem.Living on the O ring and housing is very simple, rinse it in fresh water after a trip, take the camera out, take the O ring out, undefiled off the O ring and the little groove it sits in, grease the O ring and you're done. Total time - less than ten minutes.I don't have common sense with any other products of the sort, but 9 dives...

Provides superlative protection to an amazing camera
This is a no brainer for a SCUBA diver - but it has many other applications. The Sony DSC-T3 and DSC-T33 cameras (both fit in this instance) are both very small cameras and perfect for carrying with you everwhere you go. When the places you go are somewhat harsh environments - that's where this event comes in.The case is 1/4" thick heavy-duty ABS plastic. The lens area is sheltered by a raised bevel. All of the buttons on the back work with the camera in the case.I use this case when I take my DSC-T33 through slot canyons in the Utah forsake. The canyons are often wet and involve a lot of swiming. Normal cameras require you to protect them with drybags and skip a lot of shots as a result. The T3/T33 + this camera case make for an excellent combination.The camera state ALSO provides a tripod screw mount - somethign that the T3/T33 are too small to have in their own right.The flash difusser is description of pointless - but seeing as all of my water...
