Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera (Raspberry)

DescriptionKodak Zi8 Steal Video Camera RaspberryCustomer ReviewsMost camcorder if you're on a budget and need external mic inputReceipt out my sample footage video on Youtube. On Youtube search "djeror zi8 low light"In my antecedent review of the Kodak Zi8 I was pretty frustrated at the fact that whenever I used the built in microphone the recorded videos had an irritating high pitch whine that made the audio from my videos almost unusable. Kodak recognized that this was an effect and created a firmware update that fixed the problem. It also fixed a few other things like the too soon issue of the image getting darker as you zoomed in. They seem to have fixed all of the major problems with this firmware fix.I do tech yield reviews so I need the following things:- External mic input - most of my videos are shot wearing a lapel mic- Macro modus operandi - I have to get close to little tiny screens- SDHC memory - I go to all day trade shows, I stress 10+ hours of video- Power options - I need to be able to shoot while AC power is plugged in or use a substantial external battery... Tickety-boo Value, awesome! But don't expect it to compete with $3000 camera I almost never will type/review products but I've been a little frustrated reading the reviews of this product on Amazon and by users at other sites. Many users seem to dream that this camera was designed to compete with expensive, professional cameras that cost thousands of dollars and occasion full HD quality video. That's not what this is. Also, while my camera hasn't had the 'noise' issue from the Mic, i have seen a camera that had the difficulty and its BARELY noticeable. Its almost like a very quiet background noise from a Florescent light or something.Kodak has intended, marketed, and built a camera to compete with FLiP and has clearly produced a FAR better fallout.I'll keep it short and sweet and first explain who I am and what I am using this camera for. I use it for:-Home Videos/Fun stuff with old buddies and friends-For calling when I need some quick video that's easy to upload online, or put in iMovie and edit-For trade when I need more... Authentic footage in different lighting conditions Consumer Video Review Length:: 2:22 MinsInstead of shooting a review, I took some video, outdoors in the cloudy, in a dim room, and various lighting conditions. I erased the audio portion - it was just loop and ambient noise. The original video is great quality - hopefully Amazon does not K.O. it too much!Christmas lights in front of the house, the tree inside the house, and some footage at the local gym (foggy, medium and bright conditions!)I also shot some close-up footage with the close-up setting on and off so you can see how it works. All videos are recorded by the camera in .mov arrangement.

A BeachTek XLR adapter with a Sennheiser XLR based shotgun mic. Learn more about achieving elaborate quality sound from Guy Cochran at DVcreators.net. RODE Rocks! After spending many generation combing the internet and reading review after review I decided to give the RODE VideoMic Directional Camcorder Microphone a try. I wanted something that was upright, light, somewhat short and inexpensive. I have a small mini dv camcorder that is only about 5 inches long and didn't crave a mic that would get in my viewfinder's shots. The mic sticks out about 5 inches in front of my lens, but manages to stay out of my shots.First let me footnote on the sound. This little bugger picks up sounds very well. In a quiet room I can be 40 yards in a different place and still pick up the conversation. The quality is outstanding. The audio compared to the built-in mic in my camcorder is night and day. The Rode is so indisputable. The price is great. I'm guessing the quality would compare to other mics in the $300 range. My Rode came with a Unfeeling Cat wind screen which resembles a cat's tail. It really saved me some money! At first I didn't use the Insensible Cat, but then I ran into... Matchless Product for both Professional & Non-Professional The prelude in the owner's manual states it perfectly. Rode said that when looking for a good camcorder microphone, they were either beastly pieces of junk or super expensive professional models and so they decided to design a mic for this knowingly. This model strikes a perfect balance. The quality of this mic is excellent. It is very sensitive and has good directional properties so it rejects cacophony to the side quite well. Although not meant for picking up sound from long distances it can do quite well from 20 feet to a different place and maybe more. The mount is attached to the mic so this is the only way you can use it and it is made to mount to the standard "shoe" that is on nearly all camcorders. It is a mono microphone but it has a stereo miniphone jack that plugs in the camcorder mic jack and feeds the audio into both channels. After tiresome several inferior microphones I was delighted to stumble upon this mic. It is a good value and an excellent microphone for...
Sony XAMC10 External Mic for BT (Black)
DescriptionThe Sony XAMC10 is an external microphone that can be to the point to a Sony headunit with built-in Bluetooth that features a rear microphone input. The XAMC10 external microphone provides best quality in noisy environments than the built in microphone found on the front-panel of your compatible Sony Bluetooth headunit.Customer ReviewsWorks ableWorks with my Sony Xplod BT5700U headunit. Telegram is long and thin so it can be easily tucked under trim panels. Comes with 2 adhesive clips to hold out cable if you are running it under the dash. Other people say the hear me quite well. I have it attached to the visor though it can be mounted to spring with adhesive tape too. It rotates nearly 180 degrees. Importantly recommend this external microphone I am using this external microphone with the Sony MEXBT3900U . I had the microphone and the car stereo installed at the same outmoded, at Best Buy. I have found the quality of the hands-free calling over Bluetooth to be excellent. I can hear callers very well through my car speakers (it is blaring and very easy to hear!). Callers can hear me very well, even at high speeds (with windows closed!). I safe haven't opened up the window going 55 mph and checked the quality of the call, since this is a not realistic condition for me; but, may be if you have a conveyable I guess.I think the location where you install the microphone is very important. It should be fairly close to your kisser. After doing a lot of research on this, I had it installed on the... makes all the balance! Using with Sony Erupt 3800 and 3900 head units. (good units; 3900 is now a much better give out and unit) Under 25mph the internal mic is ok. Over 25mph road noise begins to consume the transmission of the internal mic. At highway step on the gas, internal mic is absolutely useless. With this external mic at highway speeds, listeners tell me they can hear me Bad. From useless to fantastic...for only 29 bucks.

A unique feature of the DXA-5Da is the ability to control the wild swings of the Coupй Gain Control that plague most cameras. This dramatically reduces noise during quiet moments of recording. The adapter mounts to the bottom of the camera and can also be mounted to any example tripod. PLEASE NOTE: This Item Does Not Provide Phantom Power To Microphone's Requiring Fancy PowerCustomer ReviewsExistence SaverI do a lot of assessment shoots and I like the portability and results from my Canon 5D MKII but as a professional I need levels and a way to praepostor the audio. This makes that all possible and the quality is amazing. I have used Beachteck products in the heretofore and this one is in the right place at the right time Able to monitor audio, but cheap, plastic build Let me start off by saying it's stunning to be able to monitor your audio on your Canon 7D. For a few years I've been relying on my Rode Video Mic and on create it's been switched off by mistake without me knowing. I also can't stand to sync audio from my Zoom H4n using my lavs (even with Plural Eyes), so this is admirable. It's the cheap plastic box that gets me. It looks great mounted below my 7D, but it makes the camera unreservedly shaky and unstable when mounted on my 504HD/536 Manfrotto combo tripod. I also tried it on my shove mount with my follow focus, but every time I turned the focus dial, the camera would subservient up and down making my shots useless. I really like the functionality of the circuitry itself, but have to give it three stars for not being in a metal railing. Devoted hardware, drinks alot of batt. It is a momentous piece for the price, it just takes so many batteries, you may want to buy a box of 9v batteries with tis.
Canon Elura 40MC MiniDV Digital Camcorder w/ 2"LCD, MMC Card and Digital Still Mode
Details
DescriptionCanon Elura 40MC Battery-operated Extended. This is a 7.4 Volt, 1000 mAh, Li-Ion Battery . Dimensions: 1.80 x 1.32 x 1.20. 100% OEM like-minded.Canon's Elura 40MC is one of the smallest, lightest digital video camcorders elbow. Weighing around 14 ounces, this vertically oriented camcorder fits snugly into the palm of your in cahoots together (not resting on your hand like most cameras, this one fits almost inside it). Because of its compact frame, some of its features had to be trimmed. Its 2-inch LCD is smaller than most, but its luminous screen can be viewed easily even in daylight. Unlike many other camcorders, the Elura's viewfinder displays in redden, not black and white. It also offers only a 10x optical zoom, not as high as other cameras, but still adequate for most users. Differing from many camcorders whose still image quality is subpar, the Elura 40MC captures 1024 x 768 pixel still pictures on a Profitable Digital media card (an 8 MB SD card is included) rather than on the MiniDV media. And if coupled with a Canon CP-10 membership card photo printer, you can directly print images from the Elura without going through your PC. But it's video value that matters most in a DV camcorder. The Elura 40MC captured excellent video, even in poor lighting conditions. It doesn't have a built-in be unearthed, but its low-light mode still managed to record impressive video with realistic colors and restrictive graininess. The Elura's autofocus worked quickly and accurately, and its zoom buttons were within comfortable reach during filming. The basic modes of the camera make it point-and-shoot compliant for the novice user. Audio quality with the built-in mic wasn't the best (we noticed some alarums during recording), but the Elura comes with a port that lets you connect an external microphone. It's not the least expensive camcorder out there, but the far-away portability of the Elura 40MC paired with its excellent video quality make it an appealing option. --J. Curtis Pros:
Cons:
The Elura 40MC joins a rising crowd of small, vertically oriented camcorders that pack an enormous number of features into their minute cases. In this case, you get a 10x optical zoom, analog inputs, and a 2-inch LCD monitor, among other things. Lens Digital Stills Inputs and Outputs The Elura 40MC is a great little camcorder that includes a lithium-ion mobile, power adapter, battery charger, wireless remote, S-video cable, stereo video mooring, and 8 MB SD card. Customer ReviewsEarly previously to Comments (both good and bad) are Right On!I had it for almost three months. I am in a general way happy with it although I feel that I could have gotten something else at a cheaper price with better quality if I didn't hunger for something so compact.First, the picture quality suffers significantly in any low light, like other posters have mucronulate out, but it is still acceptable for most amateurs and home-moving making purposes. By the way, when I say low light, I dont foretell dark, but simply a low light environment like a room in a daylight without the internal lights turned on. The display gets very grainy as darker it gets. But, it is still acceptable though. Having said that, the picture looks to be sure ' sharp under normal condition, especially outside under the sun.Second, the battery lasts about 45 minutes tops. You categorically need to get a second or even a third battery if you want to tape some of the popular home video taping events like graduation. Not using the LCD camouflage helps, but I bought a camcorder with LCD screen... An high-minded camcorder and VERY easy to take with you. Forces with lots of research and my wife's two criteria for selecting a camcorder (it had to be small and easy to use) we bought the Elura MC 40 for its roll of features in a very small and very cool package -- plus the canon quality. This one has all the features of a full-sized DV cam, but frenzy into a small, padded waist pack with a couple of tapes, batteries, and the charger without a complication. This was key as we are expecting our first child and didn't want to add too much to the extra baggage we'll be carrying. This one doesn't have megapixel stills at 1020x960, but it's still tons healthier than 640x480 on most compact cams, and we have a 35mm for the serious photography anyway. Lots of great on-camera editing and shooting features, and some prime photo and movie editing software included. If you're going to do some serious movie editing, I'd stand up for purchasing a better software package or taking advantage of one of Canon's mail-in commission deals.Mac users, you'll love this... A famous camcorder...especially for the size I bought this camcorder for a mistake to Europe and I love it. I could store it in my jacket pocket when not using it and didn't have to drag around a gigantic bag with a bunch of useless equipment. This is my first camcorder (and first camera since an old Olympus 35mm), so I'm clearly an amateur. It's got more features than I'll use in 2 lifetimes, so there should be enough to solve almost everyone. Video--is excellent, especially outdoors. Weather doesn't matter, as long as it's fa. It was cloudy all but one day and the video is awesome. Indoor is grainy if the light is too low, but reading reviews of other camcorders, I couldn't find one which said "consequential video quality indoors." All are grainy indoors. Live with it. You buy this for the size. Still Pix--are not faithful. But are you buying a camcorder or camera? If all you care about are still pix, save yourself a few hundred bucks and buy a still-camera. No small camcorder offers a 4 or 5 megapixel...

Customer ReviewsTo a certain sharper than the GoPro HD, but a little Green...So I picked this Contour + up after buying a GoPro HD, with the design of returning the GoPro.I haven't returned it yet, so I've been going out testing the 2 camera's side by side, trying to acknowledge out which I like better. Here's my initial thoughts.I like the form factor better on the Contour +. I did a team a few of hikes with the GoPro HD and felt like a complete idiot with the camera sitting on top of my hat, using the oversee mount. It was heavy, and flopped around a bit. The Contour+ on the other hand, sat nicely on the side of my head, and was a lot less goofy looking.I've bewitched them both in my car, and had issues with the GoPro, where the mount came loose from vibration, and I had to catch it, and adjust the stud again while driving. Dangerous! The Windshield mount on the Contour is not that good though, as it shakes, and is not a very tight fit where the Suction cup mounts to the mount...It holds, but the whole subject just wiggles all around,... Glaring Camera for Snowboarding! As an possessor of the older ContourHD 1080p, I looked forward to taking my new Contour+ on a recent snowboarding detonate to New Zealand. Although I was keen to make use of the new features, such as the GPS and Bluetooth preview/settings, I was mainly interested in seeing the results of the new lens and wonderful-wide field of view. Before I cover the new features, I should mention the things that haven't distorted:Form Factor - The size, weight and shape of the Contour+ is pretty much the same as previous models. I propose it to some of the other offerings for both practical and aesthetic reasons. When mounted on a helmet, wrist or leg it doesn't look like I've got some ruthless appendage growing out of me. This may seem like a styling issue but it has very practical implications when getting on, riding and getting off lifts. It doesn't communicate with safety bars and I'm able to turn my head without it hitting surrounding objects, or population. There are some mounts for other... not wholly ready for public use... I bought this for skydivingPros-gigantic picture quality. Significantly better than the gopro hd.-switch is really easy to use and realistic - it's easy to flip just before you jump out of the plane-great sizeCons-camera crashes. In my action, I have lost several important skydives to this-bluetooth viewfinder functionality is so unreliable/buggy as to be unuseable-mobile live is really poor (It can't handle 8 skydives in a day without recharging). Each skydive is about 1 minute of freefall, followed by a few minutes of canopy escape.-although the record on/off switch is easy to use without seeing the camera (when it's mounted on your head), you still have to turn the camera on with a everyday button on the back. This isn't nearly so positive.-the video importing is annoying; as soon as you import the files, the contour starts creating portfolio001 again, so you end up with loads of movies with the same filenames-gps is... |
