Canon VIXIA HF200 HD Flash Memory Camcorder w/15x Optical Zoom
Details
DescriptionCanon has a well-known and extraordinarily-regarded reputation for optical excellence, advanced image processing, superb scene and technological innovation, built on our legendary photographic and broadcast television lenses. Based on that judgement, we bring the latest in high definition camcorders. The Canon VIXIA HF200 Flash Retention camcorder is one such example. The VIXIA HF200 delivers brilliant video and still photos through a Canon exclusive 3.89-megapixel CMOS dead ringer sensor and the latest version of our advanced image processor, DIGIC DV III.Customer ReviewsHave it, luv itThe video grandeur is superb, as is ease of use. Here are a few hints and things I noticed. The battery out of the box will not power-on the camera and requirements some minutes of charge to even show 0%. You can operate the camera from the charger but the battery is not being charged, says the vade-mecum.There are two 1920x1080 picture quality modes: MXP at 24 mbps and FXP at 17 mbps -- and three at 1440x1080: XP+, SP and LP, at 12, 7 and 5 mbs, each to each. I believe it defaults to LP out of the box, which is 1440x1080 at 7 mbps. I suggest you select FXP to get true 1920x1080 result. Upping to 24 mbps might be a good idea only if you are going to do a lot of post editing -- I can't see an rehabilitation over FXP. Recording times with a 16GB card are 1:25, 2:05, 2:50, 4:45 and 6:05, respectively. When the camera is OFF, pressing the DISP handle (on the camera body) will show battery capacity in minutes and percent. Pressing DISP when ON turns the LCD to max jollity... The first-class HD camcorder under $600 I have need of a HD camcorder for my new born baby, but with a limited budget. So I compared canon HF200, Sony CX100 and Panasonic TM20R since they are all in sub 600 reach. I tried all of them in local stores and finally settled with canon HF200, although it's a little bit more expensive than cx100 and TM20R.The sensor of HF200 is the prime one among these three, 1 /4" (1/5" for CX100, 1/6" for TM20R). It guaranteed best resolution, 2.99 Megapixels ( 2.3 M for cx100, 1.14M for TM20R) and in my experience larger sensor also helps tone down the noise in dark environment. Indeed, minimal illumination condition for HF200 is 0.4 lux, much punter than thre other two. I took a couple of sample shots in local stores and the picture from HF200 for mysterious environment is acceptable. Sony cx100 is barely acceptable and Panasonic TM20R is total crap, not even as commendable as my webcam. After I finally bought HF200, I never regretted! The video quality is just brilliant. For the 1920x1080... Warm little beast but poor software Weighty camcorder, but get a bigger battery such as the , the default one makes a nice backup. The software provided sucks, and you have to bod out by yourself which program does what: The main interface can upload videos, but not play or edit them, as it does for photos. It also creates a gallimaufry of Start menu shortcuts in Windows that you don't need since these programs are called by the main program, ZoomBrowser. About the Pixela video editing software provided, well, let's justifiable say that it's better forgotten...Only 15 music tracks in wave format are provided to use as soundtrack. There is also a Canon online photo storage suggest that you probably don't need if you already have a blog or email provider. The good thing is that the AVCHD plan of this camcorder is supported by...

Pick up your Canon VIXIA HF S200 4318B001 HD Camcorder today!Customer Reviews1080p and a classify of cool featuresI'm usually more of a still photographer at heart, but I finally decided to purchase an HD video camera, and after considerable scrutinize, I chose the Canon HF-S200. It seemed to have the right mix of features, size, price and quality - and so far, it's measured up.From an ergonomics aspect of view, I found the camera about right for my hands. The controls seem logically laid out, and it fits actually in my hand in a way that lets me hold it steady without feeling awkward. Still, even though the camera is barely a pen in weight, to get the best HD quality, you'll want to consider a monopod, tripod or some other support. I use a Kirk pitch in harness borrowed from one of my still cameras, and it works well. Otherwise, the controls seem to be where I'd like them and it took fairly particle effort to get to the point where I could operate most of the features without fixating on the camera itself. Also, because of the memory card architecture, there are no thrilling parts in... One handle breaker for me I'm flourishing to keep this short. Other reviewers have pointed out the many great things about this camcorder, and there are many. Unfortunately, there is one deal breaker for me, and I'm to be sure ' shocked that more people haven't mentioned it.....the lens is not wide angle enough!! I bought this a week ago to take on vacation. I am in Orlando righteous now doing the Disney thing, and I'm in a big suite, and I am constantly backing up, and telling my kids to back up, so I can get them in the painting. Even then, it's still not quite enough, and I'm not getting the shots I want. Just to make sure I wasn't being too momentous, I asked my 19 year old stepson what he thought (and he's a film/video major in college truth now), and he totally agreed. He said his much less expensive JVC has a much, much wider angle (of course the overall nobility of the camera and of the videos is less than the Canon). To put it in perspective, consider the 2 top competitors to the Canon HF S200, the... Huge, but not as nearly good as the Panasonic HDC-TM700 I bought the Vixia H S200 based on the many wholesome reviews and the top rating on cNet. It is a great all around camcorder no doubt with fabulous image and video distinction. It ranks at the top of what's out there today in the prosumer or near-prosumer category. Then I read about the Panasonic HDC-TM700 and mainly the comparison of the Panasonic with the Canon VIXIA H S21 was intersting. The Vixia H S200, VIXIA H S20 and VIXIA H S21 are comparable from a hardware/firmware perspective, just that the H S21 has a viewfinder and 64GB built in memory, the H S20 has 32GB built in reminiscence plus SDHC slot and the H S200 does only have SDHC card slots. The Panasonic batter the $400 more expensive Canon easily. So I decided to do my own comparo and ordered the HDC-TM700. Now after two weeks of comparative footage I have to assent to. The Panasonic HDC-TM 700 is the better camcorder for all the same reasons listed on camcorderinfo.Since this is a common comparison many consumers are doing these...

Exceptionally biography-like tone and detail are captured thanks to 24MbCustomer Reviews1st Look at and lovin' it!Like most of the latest HD cameras for consumers, the camera is meagre and fits perfectly in my hand. It's very light when matched with the battery that comes with it and even with the BP-827 freestyle, it's still light enough to barely notice.Speaking of batteries, the battery that comes with the M31, when turned on after a newfangled recharge, shows 98minutes of battery time. The actual "real world" in the good old days b simultaneously you'll get will be dependent upon how much your zooming, re-playing recordings and overall "on" time. One could expect to have, safely, 60 minutes of recording while. The , after a fresh charge, shows 314minutes (5hrs 14 mins) worth of battery-operated. The same cavet applies from above, and one could expect a solid 4hrs of recording time during... Joyful to Meet you Vixia M31 I purchased my Canon Vixia M31 several weeks ago and was fatigued to it because it records in HD and has a 32 GB built in memory. I understand the only difference from the M30 is that it only has 8 GB of memory. Anyway, this is not my first camcorder, so I opted to inspect the features of the M31 before reading the manual and discovered it was quite easy to operate at a glance. When I discovered the move screen menu, I thought "Oh no, what have I gotten myself into". Alas, a suggestion to use a stylus made my experience much improve. It works like a charm and the touch menu is one of my highlights of the camcorder. Canon should have thrown one in the box.Overall, the M31 is but for me. The video footage I have taken thus far is awesome! There are five different recording modes. The length of storage and battery-operated life depends on which one you use. Based on my needs, I do not think I'll be using anything lower than the FXP mode. The software (Pixela,... HD camcorder perfected I bought and own the M31 and I am unconditionally excited about it. It's to the point where I actually think of it when I wake up. It's really that good and that fun to use.Not only does it curve out 1080 footage, it really captures in 1080. It doesn't capture in some lesser boldness and upconverts like Canon's R series. This is real 1080 HD.I've done quite a bit of video capture already and the prominence and detail is brilliant. The auto focus works very quickly. Adjusting the speed of zooming in and out is unoppressive with the zoom lever on top of the camcorder. It's designed like those on most camcorders. And the sound! I recorded a bird from a haughtiness that chirped. When I played it back, that chirp was heard very clearly. The camcorder seems to capture individual sounds from a tranquillize background very clearly. And the playback! The screen is perfect for viewing footage. And the sound is punctilious and loud if you need it to be! Just turn up the volume... |

Why doesn't my new class 10 SDHC card do what my Class 6 can?
I well-deserved purchased a 16 Gb Class 10 SDHC card by Transcend from Amazon to use in my Canon Vixia HF200 HD Camcorder. This was to upgrade my 16Gb Realm 6 SDHC card, also by Transcend. I thought it being Class 10 it would have higher present/write
The record speed is determined by the firmware of your camera, which the specs state for the Canon HF200 is Caste 4 or higher . The reason the Class 10 did not work may be for several reasons. Make persuaded the card is not locked (tiny tab on the side).
