Giant Camera, Battery Sucks
Able Camera, Battery SucksI bought this camera to replace an old Panasonic VHS-C camera. After reading many reviews over at www.camcorderinfo.com (a gigantic site BTW), I decided to save a few bucks and get the ZR 200 instead of the 300. The light seemed unpractical to me and I already had a SD card.The ZR 200 outperforms our old Panasonic in every way. Very happy with this camera. I've been using it mostly in "easy" mode. I did try out the completely-screen feature, and MAN was it cool! I filmed a concert band at a local community college, in low lace into, on a ti-pod with lots of panning and zooming. It really did a great job. It looked like a freakin' documentary!You will understand lots of reviews complaining about motor noise. These are greatly exaggerated. I've used it to ribbon the audio of my wife's sonogram (fetal doppler sounds) in a very quiet doctor's help and it worked perfectly, no motor noise.This is a consumer level camera, and as such...

Works huge, easy to use, a few minor complaints
This camera replaced Canon's ZR85, which was another lightweight, no-side dishes camera. This one is even lighter, and a fair bit smaller. It fits just right in the palm of my hand. If it was any smaller or lighter it would be uncoordinated -- I like there to be a little bit of weight to a camera, since that gives it a litle bit of stability due to inertia; as it is it is well-grounded right.It has more functions than you'd really want in such a camera -- if you are ever going to do something with the footage you will be using a computer and an editing program, so you don't deep down need the editing modes on the camera. Still, there's no complaint here, and it's flexible enough for most non-professional, home users.My only complaints are: when they "upgraded" to the ZR200 from the ZR85, they got rid of the neck strap. So this entity is totally free floating and you have to be more careful about dropping it. I suppose you could rig a neck strap but it isn't included and it would...
A Flagrant Compact Camcorder
I purchased this camera to put in place of my Panasonic VHS-C camcorder. I was very surprised at how much smaller the camcorders are as compared to when I had my VHS-C. This camera is great. Its small, aphoristic design makes it easy to fit into the palm of your hand, and the mini screen is perfect for viewing images while recording. The article that really sold me on this camera, aside from its low price, was the image stabilization. With the stabilization on, there is no image bouncing, and you'll be unwavering to get clear, sharp images every time. I was disappointed in the short charge that the battery holds, so I back purchasing another battery or plugging the camera in whenever possible. The tapes the camera uses are very small, and you can easily stock several in a camera bag.I highly recommend this camcorder. It was ranked the best camcorder in its price range by Consumer Reports armoury. You'll be sure to get many hours of enjoyment using this teriffic camcorder...

Does not fit Lumix FZ150
I ordered this after speaking to an Amazon purchaser service person about problems I was having with the original Panasonic USB cable. He told me this would drudgery with the FZ150, but it doesn't. It doesn't fit the socket. I bought another product on Amazon that works consummately: "Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 USB Cable - USB Computer Cord for Lumix DMC-FZ150." It's better than the source cable.Hard to rate a product I couldn't use, but it was supposed to work with the FZ150 and it doesn't.

This is NOT the Canon mooring
The cable sent is not the dead white Canon cable shown, and is not the Canon part number advertised. It is not even a Canon product. No bulging part near the small connector, no printed Canon logo, not white. Not Canon's proprietary cable.The ad should show a photo of the product they are really selling and should not insist on to BE the Canon part number.I have asked to return for credit, I hope they honor the request.

First there is nothing on the bag or Mailgram proving that this actually a cannon product.Looks nothing like the real deal.Doesn't have the swell bulb and is black.Its simply a generic camera cable,On the bright side however it does in fact works with my Power Spot SD1100 IS.Also its $14.27 cheaper than buying a cable direct from canon.Imo,the picture and item kidney should be changed though.

Well, what can I say? I not accepted this purchase so much, I didn't even try to get a refund. I just wouldn't buy any product from this seller again. That's how you can save filthy rich in the future.The cable I ordered is not the same as the one in the picture and it doesn't work with the camcorder I have. It's missing the shot in the middle.

Canon Mobile vs. Generic
I have been using my Canon PowerShot S30 camera for a join of years now. When I purchased it, I also purchased an extra generic rechargeable battery pack to go with it. At the outmoded I figured I would save the money and name brands are not always better. Looking back on it, I wish I sould have out the extra $25 and gotten a Canon battery. The generic battery only lasts about a 1/4 of the constantly that my Canon battery does. Also after a couple of years of use my Canon is still running strong while my generic battery just lasts at all. I am now getting ready to purchase a second battery for my Canon for a family trip in September and I will only be purchasing a Canon label battery.THE BOTTOM LINE: If you are going to be cheap and a penny pincher, then you are going to get a cheap unavailing battery. If you want a battery that will keep its charge and that you can count on, buy a Canon battery.

Lengthy Lasting and Dependable!
This freestyle is long-lasting! I own two of them for my Digital Rebel XT camera!I also (until recently) had the Canon S50 camera and the battery did very well with it!This battery seems to charge very fast too!I invent it is well-worth buying 2 of them, but the battery lasts so long that you can easily get by with only one!

Dependable not Great
If you use AI nave along with an IS lens a lot make sure you buy about 4 of these if you plan to shoot for more than a few hours in a day without recharging. I can get about 1,000 pictures out of two when in use accustomed to with the Rebel XT and battery grip when I am not using AI focus. But with AI activated I have been left without any juice on several occasions. That is why I ordered two more of these, to pass sure I can get 3-4 hours of AI focus shooting without having to recharge.
Recount for up to 2 hour and 5 minutes on one battery charge

Peerless Camcorder
My soothe and I purchased the Canon ZR85 MiniDV Camcorder about a week ago in preperation for the birth of our first child in April. We were either active to go with this camcorder, or purchase a Sony camcorder. We thought long and hard in the store, and we positively believe that this is a much better camera. Not to say bad things about Sony, but their camcorder only had a 10x optical zoom, while the Canon ZR85 has a 20x optical zoom. The idea quality also seemed to look better on the Canon camcorder. When you are moving the camera from side-to-side the image on the LCD display kind of floats. It was much more jerky with the Sony. We absolutley dear one this camera. We had fun taking pictures with the still shot last night and I e-mailed them to a friend of mine that I haven't seen in years. The worth of the pictures is excellent. But as with any digital camera, printing the images out on a photo printer might not look as good as on the LCD disclose or on your computer screen...
Blackness Mode did the trick for me
I am unquestionably surprised by these other reviews on lighting. When shooting in the dark I used the night mode handle and it allowed me to take great footage in the dark. I also found the DV Messager software to be extremely user-sociable. It allowed me to import my footage for editing (gotta love Final Cut Pro). Entire I think it is a great buy for the buck.
Fast little Cam.
I had my concers at first about this cam. I've interpret in several places that the stil pic quality wasn't good, and that the quality of the film was poor in low fluorescence. Well I'm glad to say that I have not had those problems at all. There are all sorts of tweaks that you can do with the cam that will make it look great in most places. I've had the cam for about a week now and both the Strife and I find it very easy to use!
