It works well
As eminent by the other reviewers, the aperture of the EF lens in use cannot be changed when the lens is mounted on the micro 4/3 camera assemblage, you also lose autofocus capability and the image stabilization function of the EF lenses. Those are the downsides to this adapter. The upside is the skill to use a wide range of Canon EF lenses on you Olympus or Panasonic micro 4/3 bodies. The with greatest satisfaction benefit here is the use of the long lenses and EF tele-zooms. You get an effective doubling of the focal interminably with no loss of lens speed. My 70-200/2.8 EF lens is now the equivalent of a 140-400mm zoom with the same pinnacle aperture of f/2.8 when used on my Lumix G1. In addition, the minimum focus distance of the lens remains the same. Not a bad surrendering, in my opinion. Of course, you have to be aware that this doubling of focal length effect also doubles the probability of camera shake when handholding. Do you have multiple Canon EF Lenses? How could you NOT buy this work? You paid too much NOT to be able to use them on your Micro 4/3rds body. Not to mention that other than the 20 f1.7 pancake, there in reality aren't many fast lenses available for micro 4/3. Now I can use my 50 f1.4, 100 f2.0, 135L f2.0, & 24-70L f2.8Yes, yes...no Aperture power using the 4/3 body - you must set it to a certain F stop on your Canon Body and (while holding the 'depth of line preview' button) remove the lens.(I shoot wide open most of the time anyway)And, I'm unswerving you know, there will be no Auto Focus. That does suck, but it's to be expected.In short, it's a want in my anyhow not a need...but it sure is fun to be able to mix my current lens collection with my new GF1.-------------Build attribute is above average, but is nothing to write home about. It works as advertised.
Works extraordinarily - needs a simple explanation
It seems the bad reviews on this upshot are a result of people not knowing that it does not allow you to change aperture, or the reviewers didn't be acquainted with how the single mechanism on the device works. Fotodiox really should have included a simple one-fitting for instruction with the product: to remove the adapter from the lens, pull the tab TOWARD the camera and rotate the adapter. You don't browbeat the tab in, up or down, as we're used to doing with tabs/buttons. You pull it toward you/the camera. The Kippon adapter works the same way, which is why I knew to do it on this one.Beyond that muddle, the adapter is fantastic! I honestly expected a piece of junk for this price, and I only needed it to get through one develop. I was happily surprised to find that it's a solid piece of gear and fits perfectly on both the camera and lens. This works massive
I was undecided to buy this adapter since the few reviews were not very enthusiastic. But I was anxious to try using my 300mm Nikkor lens on my Canon DSLR. And for $30 why not try it?The lens adapter is all metal and panic nicely between the lens and the camera. The lens has to be used only in aperture priority and in manual focus but I normally use this lens in manual focus when using it on my Nikon F100.I am quite pleased with the pictures infatuated using this adapter on my Canon DSLR's (both the 40D and the Rebel XT). I would not hesitate to recommend adding one of these adapters to your camera bag.

full adequate
I adapted to these to attach some Nikon and Zeiss manual-aperture lenses to my Canon EOS 5D Mark II to regain manual direction over aperture settings when shooting video. They worked fine, no big issues.I wish the little tab you use to unlock the adapter from the lens were a bit more solidly-built; it feels like it might shatter after maybe 100+ operations. This is the reason (among several others) that I'm buying a few more units of this adapter, so I can just secure one to each of my Nikon manual lenses and leave them there.Overall, for the price they're perfectly fine. I can't absolve spending $150 apiece for the competing brands, not right now at least. I'm hoping I won't be proven come to grief in the long run :)
Infer from this before you buy
This adapter suffers from a study flaw. I will get to in a minute which Nikon/EOS adapter to get.When I turn the focusing ring of a manual core lens, or an autofocus lens functioning as a manual focus, I expect only the ring to move. With the Fotodiox there is unreasonable play (> 5 deg) between the lens and the adapter. When you turn the focusing ring with a Nikon AUTOfocus lens mounted, the lens will move first with particular to the adapter before the focusing ring does. I don't know about others but to me this is unacceptable. When I turn the focusing bracelet I expect only the ring to move. With AI-S (manual focus) lenses, the play is a little less (about 2 degrees), but in both cases there is not well-deserved rotational play between the lens and adapter which is hugely annoying but will probably not affect the fixed image, even worse, there is also a tiny bit of play in the angle the optical axis makes with the fetish plane. This *does* affect image quality as I have verified. Think...
My tough nut to crack is this : when I put the lens on my Canon T70, I can see the aperture launch speedily up (when the lens is unmounted it stops down very much reduced, not solid unequivocally how feel put down but minute) from there I flick my T70 into Directions trend and it displays... The aperture is also broken at full speed in the finder too, which I was create to put one's trust in means you wont get a nullify revelation with that aperture, slowing the shutter down to 1/2 next or 1 instant seems to insinuate the aperture value serious again. The aperture value hardly ever changes from 3. 5 I suppose and even then I information no visual transmute in aperture square footage when looking at the lens....
