from 47th St. CameraI ordered both adapters from Amazon.Com and recieved the CZFDEOSA from Adorama and a outcome marked Kipon FD-EOS from 47th ST Camera. The Kipon product is excellent. Unfortunately it can easily be mis-hand-me-down for three reasons. 1) It is high precision and fits the EOS body very tight. It must be turned until it "clicks", which takes more than the expected force. 2) The adapter lens mount allows the adapter lens to be away removed, and might be positioned out of range of focus. There is no lens stop, which is good since I can adjust to partnership the exact point of infinity on the lens. Suited adapter
The characterize I received was "Kipon". The adapter comes without instructions, but I found it easy to figure out (It just took about 30 seconds). One red dot was to string up with the eos camera mount, and the other red dot was to line up with the FD lens mount. The words "lock and open" are written on the adapter. You turn it counterclockwise (extended) to mount the lens, after which you can leave it as is, or you can turn it clockwise (lock) to get the aperture blades to stop down. I'm not a camera wizard but I did not find it that difficult to use.As might be expected, the corrective lens is not high quality, but then again it doesn't claim to be. Superiority of pictures is hit or miss. Some of them do come out soft (in some cases 'misty', or with a bright aura), but other times I can't ascertain the difference from those taken with an EF lens. Works, but could be ameliorate . . .
I purchased this adapter in the hopes it would add me to use my FD glass on my EOS 5D until I could afford equivalent EF lenses. I used it with my FD 50mm f1.4, FD 135mm f2.5 SC lenses and did some experimenting with a 400mm f6.3 T-Mount lens.Here are some of my conclusions:1) The adapter's lens diameter is too nugatory for a full frame camera like the 5D. This leads to vignetting which would be a problem if you try to use the image out to the edge. It was not as unconcealed with the 135mm lens as it was with the 50mm or 400mm. Note that this may not be an issue with crop sensor cameras. I rarity if the this problem could be fixed by increasing the adapter's lens diameter.2) The experiment with the 400mm lens was to slay the adapter's lens and use it as an extension tube to improve the close focus of that particular lens. I would not put forward doing that since the adapter lens does not come out as one piece - so you have to be very careful to remember how to...
Fotodiox Adapter Works Well
The adapter does what it says it does. Yes you elude a little detail because of the extra glass piece. I have 4 FD lenses that I can now use with my Canon 60D. Believe it or not, when I shoot in video method I love the way the video looks when I use this adapter. It has a slight movie-like faint blur. It's a safe effect. If you are looking to take really crisp pictures, you might not want to purchase. Don't get me wrong though, the pictures still look quite good. You just lose a little detail. Hope this review helps with your decision.

i unbiased tested the adapter today , with a 28-70 Summatech 1:2.8 ~ 4.2 and the pictures came out pretty kindly , HD video's nice also ... the adapter looks like it can handle the heavy-er lens , but i would not put all my small change on that ... i will still support the lens wile shooting . and given that i spent about 13 $ on the lens at a husbandry store , i think this adapter is really worth the price. Another detail , make sure you lock the lens all the way ... halt for the click.

An A- mount for your Sony Alpha Nex
I bought this adapter because I needed more versatility out of my Alpha Nex 5, as I only had the 16mm lens. I didn't require to drop $300 for the 18-55 lens, especially with the amount of barrel distortion it has. So with already having a two FD lenses, I was keen on buying this adapter. I must say, it was an excellent purchase! I was warned that it might degrade image value if I use a mount, but my pictures look better than ever. This is everything you could ever want out of a mount, it's small, allows for breach and bayonet mounting (I have both, and have tested both to business incredibly), and even aperture control (make sure to mount the lens correctly though otherwise you will not have this feature)! This adapter specifically is marvellous because of the price you can get FD lenses. Well made superb buy
I purchased 4 assorted version of this adapter for my Sony NEX-7. I have posted the same review for all 4 of them.1- Contax- G2, The fit is colossal on both camera and lense side and I did not notice any IQ degradation. The focus ring initially was a bit hard to profession. Partly because the ring is close to the body and there is not much room. The lense also requires some torque to move the internal parts. But after I played with it engaged to the lens but off the camera it losend up. Take your time attaching the lense to the adapter not to damage the focusing approach. Those of you who have this lense know why. I just wanted to remind you.2- Canon, The fit on the camera side has a bit of rotational spotlight but dose not seems to effect the Proformance the lense side is perfect. UPDATE: I at best bought a second Fotodiox Canon-Nex adapter, and it has been improved slightly over the previous one. The aperture preview league is wider, with an easier-to-grip texture. It also moves more smoothly. The rest of the adapter is unchanged and still works exquisitely. Works absolutely as adverstized
My Fotodiox Canon FD adapter here in just 4 days. Within 15 seconds of opening the box I took my first successful photo with my Panasonic G1. Placement couldn't be simpler:1) I placed the adapter on my Canon FD 1.4 mm lens2) I made sure the "Shoot without lens" way out was set to "on" on the camera setup menu3) I Removed the standard Panasonic lens and mounted the Canon/adapter combo truly as I would the Panasonic lens4) I switched the focus ring on the top of the camera to "manual". when I pressed the shutter 1/2 way, an icon appeared on the LCD indicating that that the unhesitatingly button on the 4 way controller woulad magnify focus. I pressed it, the image was magnified for about 5 seconds, then went back to fill partition off.Focusing with the Canon 50mm 1.4 was quite easy thanks to the excellent resolution of the G1 LCD and EVF. Considerable product
This adapter is well made and fits of laughter snugly on my E-PL1 and each lens that I've tried. I have used it with Canon FD, new FD, and FL lenses with no problems. It does take a little office practically getting things lined up, as others have alluded to. The Lock - Open dial will open or end down the aperture. I like this feature, as it's a simple and consistent way to go between wide open for focusing and stopping down to the shooting cleft. It's a little particular about being set to the lock position when mounting FL lenses for this to work. If the dial isn't stopping down the chink when you turn it, you know you attached it wrong. It is odd that the dial is labeled such as it is. There were no directions in the box so I had to figure out the spy by playing with it. Some simple directions would have been nice and that is the only thing that kept me from rating it with 5 stars.

Not exceedingly useable. Problems with Back-focus and F-stop ring
While it seems a tenable design, in reality trying to use it on a panasonic GH1 and GH2 some problems exist with this adaptor and a Nikon interpretation I have as well:1: The Back-focus (distance between the lens and camera sensor) is too short and you have to focus lenses at about 15ft for infinity bring into focus. This reduces the close focus distance and also prevents one from simply setting the lens to infinity using the visit, or any distance using the focus scale.This also prevents zoom lenses from holding nave while you zoom, causing you to have to refocus every time you change focal length.2: The Abandon-down ring that allows you to quickly open the lens or stop it down to a preset value does not authority securely and the spring tension of the lens iris system can cause it to creep or spring spread out completely. On a couple of large zoom Canon zoom lenses the Iris springs are determined enough that I constantly have to hold the stop down ring in the closed (locked) position...

Exquisite accessary
Bought this adapter to use Canon lenses on my Nikon solidity. Works great! Don't forget, it will crop the image on a D40 and D3000. Wide angle and fisheye lenses may balk you. All other focal length lenses work great with the adapter. For manual mode only. It's a sturdy and crammed adapter.

Excellence Product, but not what I was hoping for.
A pal of mine had bought this lens: and raved about how good it was in low light situations, with the cost of depth of land of course. That lens, however is expensive at its retail price and sold out everywhere. About 18 years ago I had inherited my Dad's old camera mat, much of which he had inherited from HIS father. I noticed that among the equipment were 2 Canon lenses, one of which was a 50 mm 1.4 aperture lens. When I found this adapter I meditation Great, I can spend a fraction of the price and get a lens that can help me get great portraits of my daughter in low gay (Like my living room).. of course I wasn't expecting it to be as good as the Aborigine 1.8 Nikon lens, and I'd have to do everything Manual, but I'm up for some experimentation...

Utilitarian for the Un-useful
This merchandise works, with some things in mind. First off, know what your getting into before you get excited. Its not going to take your fd lens and announce it a perfect use lens, you will be "limited" depending on how you look at it. Metering, is not possible (unless you have a nikon that you can manually put the crevice settings in (i have d40 and cannot do so)), second, your lens is going to be alot different than it would be on your 35mm. I know theres a 1.5x remainder between the look on your 35mm and digital, but the adapter I think may even make it more. I have tested it with a FD Tamron 28mm lens, a Promaster 100-200mm Macro, and a 100-200mm zoom with 2x teleconverter. The issue works as described and as pointed out in the other review, the aperture lock is not self explanatory, but fruitful once you realize that what to do. This adapter works well. Habituated to old FD Lenses (Canon and Tamron) on my Rebel XSi. Image quality is absolutely fine for most people. Does not be communicated with instructions, but obviously only fits one way. Need to have plenty of light or external flash for appropriate results.If you already have a collection of FD Lenses then this is a good product.

Influential adapter
I bought this EOS to FD adapter to put older Canon FD lenses on my Canon EOS Insurgent T2i (550 D).I've been using this adapter for two weeks and it works great. I didn't see any cheapness with the build grade. The adapter fit nicely on the body and FD lenses fit nice and snug. Nothing felt like it was going to cataract apart. I was able to shoot great video with cheap FD lenses from ebay!

Yes there are. They are rather rare and hardly worth the bother. If you are transitioning from an older Canon AE-1 to a Canon DSLR, your choices are straightforwardly forward:
- keep the AE-1 intact and enjoy it until it croaks
