An excluding mount for your Sony Alpha Nex
I bought this adapter because I needed more versatility out of my Alpha Nex 5, as I only had the 16mm lens. I didn't indigence to drop $300 for the 18-55 lens, especially with the amount of barrel distortion it has. So with already having a brace FD lenses, I was keen on buying this adapter. I must say, it was an excellent purchase! I was warned that it might degrade simile quality if I use a mount, but my pictures look better than ever. This is everything you could ever want out of a mount, it's small, allows for break through and bayonet mounting (I have both, and have tested both to work incredibly), and even aperture control (make reliable to mount the lens correctly though otherwise you will not have this feature)! This adapter specifically is incredible because of the price you can get FD lenses. I have a Vivitar 28-200 macro, a Vivitar 500mm Reflection lens, a Canon 50mm prime, and a Canon 70-150mm zoom lens (picked them up for about a total of $45, look around Goodwill and garage sales for...

Well made talented buy
I purchased 4 several version of this adapter for my Sony NEX-7. I have posted the same review for all 4 of them.1- Contax- G2, The fit is matchless on both camera and lense side and I did not notice any IQ degradation. The focus ring initially was a bit hard to effort. Partly because the ring is close to the body and there is not much room. The lense also requires some torque to move the internal parts. But after I played with it engaged to the lens but off the camera it losend up. Take your time attaching the lense to the adapter not to damage the focusing organization. Those of you who have this lense know why. I just wanted to remind you.2- Canon, The fit on the camera side has a bit of rotational on but dose not seems to effect the Proformance the lense side is perfect. I dont have recent canon lenses. UPDATE: I ethical bought a second Fotodiox Canon-Nex adapter, and it has been improved slightly over the previous one. The aperture opening ring is wider, with an easier-to-grip texture. It also moves more smoothly. The rest of the adapter is unchanged and still works faultlessly. My plan is to leave the tripod mount on one, for use with my long Canon lenses and leave it off the other, for sleeker handheld use and for compatibility with the Canon bellows.As before, I hankering that they had made it a few thousandths thinner so that lenses would focus at or closer to the infinity stop.The Fotodiox adapter hysteria the NEX body perfectly and snaps in place with a rotation-free and vibration-free fit. Works well, but screws needed tightening
At first this adapter met all my expectations. It is austere, easy, and works. It was a little fiddly to attach the first couple of times but surprisingly extravagant and easy all times after that--there is definitely a knack to it.But then the attachment on the FD side of the adapter became sloppy and loose. On painstaking examination I saw this was due to three tiny screws that had worked their way loose. I tightened them all up carefully (I was a bit scared of over-tightening such puny screws) and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I have really been enjoying it!

Plain and it works
Bought this to acclimate some Canon FD and nFD lenses to my NEX. A bit fiddly to get on and off the old lenses, but it works great and fits snugly. I get one for each old lens. It's easier to keep it once attached and only have to deal with the e-mount fitting. I can focus to infinity and use manual aperture enclosure on the lens.

This adapter very well made and panic both my camera and my lens with a silky smooth, quality fit.Only 4 stars because my adapter did not come with the tripod mount, as shown in the personification. I did not plan to use that, so I'm not going to make a fuss. But still, a person ought to get exactly what they ordered!

I use the adaptor with Nex5, which makes it like-minded with 50mm fl f1.8 and an FD zoom lens. With the firmware update for Nex5 (useful update for Nex3, but NexC3 and Nex5N produced updated), the peaking option makes the manual focus fun with older lens.
Doesn't fit - get PhotoDiox
Lens mounts ok, but adapter WILL NOT link to camera. It will sit in flange, but cannot turn - not even a little bit. Closer inspection reveals slightly unlike cut outs on the adapter from my other accessories. Not much different, but which may be responsible(?). Disappointed. Return. After ordering the FotoDiox as an alternative, which has the right cut outs, and which also may be machined correctly on the flange itself (I can't be sure exactly why one works, and not the other in the excellent of very tight tolerances), all is now well, and the PhotoDiox adapter is far nicer looking also, really seeming to be part of the lens/camera combo.

Works word for word as adverstized
My Fotodiox Canon FD adapter at home in just 4 days. Within 15 seconds of opening the box I took my first successful photo with my Panasonic G1. Institution couldn't be simpler:1) I placed the adapter on my Canon FD 1.4 mm lens2) I made sure the "Flourish without lens" option was set to "on" on the camera setup menu3) I Removed the standard Panasonic lens and mounted the Canon/adapter combo in all respects as I would the Panasonic lens4) I switched the focus ring on the top of the camera to "manual". when I pressed the shutter 1/2 way, an icon appeared on the LCD indicating that that the right-hand button on the 4 way controller woulad magnify focus. I pressed it, the image was magnified for about 5 seconds, then went back to fill small screen.Focusing with the Canon 50mm 1.4 was quite easy thanks to the excellent resolution of the G1 LCD and EVF. This adapter is well made and fits of laughter snugly on my E-PL1 and each lens that I've tried. I have used it with Canon FD, new FD, and FL lenses with no problems. It does take a little business getting things lined up, as others have alluded to. The Lock - Open dial will open or leave off down the aperture. I like this feature, as it's a simple and consistent way to go between wide open for focusing and stopping down to the shooting hole. It's a little particular about being set to the lock position when mounting FL lenses for this to work. If the dial isn't stopping down the gap when you turn it, you know you attached it wrong. It is odd that the dial is labeled such as it is. There were no directions in the box so I had to figure out the task by playing with it. Some simple directions would have been nice and that is the only thing that kept me from rating it with 5 stars.

Not definitely useable. Problems with Back-focus and F-stop ring
While it seems a within reason design, in reality trying to use it on a panasonic GH1 and GH2 some problems exist with this adaptor and a Nikon variety I have as well:1: The Back-focus (distance between the lens and camera sensor) is too short and you have to focus lenses at about 15ft for infinity zero in. This reduces the close focus distance and also prevents one from simply setting the lens to infinity using the give up, or any distance using the focus scale.This also prevents zoom lenses from holding hub while you zoom, causing you to have to refocus every time you change focal length.2: The Bar-down ring that allows you to quickly open the lens or stop it down to a preset value does not grip securely and the spring tension of the lens iris system can cause it to creep or spring uncommitted completely. On a couple of large zoom Canon zoom lenses the Iris springs are vigorous enough that I constantly have to hold the stop down ring in the closed (locked) position...

Weak to mis-use.
from 47th St. CameraI ordered both adapters from Amazon.Com and recieved the CZFDEOSA from Adorama and a artefact marked Kipon FD-EOS from 47th ST Camera. The Kipon product is excellent. Unfortunately it can easily be mis-in use accustomed to for three reasons. 1) It is high precision and fits the EOS body very tight. It must be turned until it "clicks", which takes more than the expected put the squeeze on someone. 2) The adapter lens mount allows the adapter lens to be easily removed, and might be positioned out of row of focus. There is no lens stop, which is good since I can adjust to match the exact point of infinity on the lens. Middling adapter
The mark I received was "Kipon". The adapter comes without instructions, but I found it easy to figure out (It unprejudiced took about 30 seconds). One red dot was to line up with the eos camera mount, and the other red dot was to line up with the FD lens mount. The words "coop up and open" are written on the adapter. You turn it counterclockwise (open) to mount the lens, after which you can desist it as is, or you can turn it clockwise (lock) to get the aperture blades to stop down. I'm not a camera expert but I did not find it that stubborn to use.As might be expected, the corrective lens is not high quality, but then again it doesn't claim to be. Quality of pictures is hit or error. Some of them do come out soft (in some cases 'misty', or with a bright aura), but other times I can't tell the adjustment from those taken with an EF lens. I've taken a lot of good pictures with this adapter.In the end, it's good for playing around with your old FD lenses, but...

Canon FD lens to EOS EF Torso Mount
I bought this adapter to take sway of the great FD lens buys on Ebay. It works. However, I find it much more user demanding than EF and EF-S lens. It's a delicate toy and good gear to go with your EOS camera if you have FD lenses or are thinking about getting any. Bottom line, it works.
