    Works scrupulously as adverstized
My Fotodiox Canon FD adapter at home in just 4 days. Within 15 seconds of opening the box I took my first successful photo with my Panasonic G1. Positioning couldn't be simpler:1) I placed the adapter on my Canon FD 1.4 mm lens2) I made sure the "Whisk without lens" option was set to "on" on the camera setup menu3) I Removed the standard Panasonic lens and mounted the Canon/adapter combo word for word as I would the Panasonic lens4) I switched the focus ring on the top of the camera to "manual". when I pressed the shutter 1/2 way, an icon appeared on the LCD indicating that that the straight off button on the 4 way controller woulad magnify focus. I pressed it, the image was magnified for about 5 seconds, then went back to fill cover.Focusing with the Canon 50mm 1.4 was quite easy thanks to the excellent resolution of the G1 LCD and EVF. Tip: focus with the lens extensive open and then stop down to desired aperture. So how was the image quality? I shot...
    Peerless product
This adapter is well made and fits of laughter snugly on my E-PL1 and each lens that I've tried. I have used it with Canon FD, new FD, and FL lenses with no problems. It does take a little discipline getting things lined up, as others have alluded to. The Lock - Open dial will open or stay down the aperture. I like this feature, as it's a simple and consistent way to go between wide open for focusing and stopping down to the shooting hole. It's a little particular about being set to the lock position when mounting FL lenses for this to work. If the dial isn't stopping down the cleft when you turn it, you know you attached it wrong. It is odd that the dial is labeled such as it is. There were no directions in the box so I had to figure out the function by playing with it. Some simple directions would have been nice and that is the only thing that kept me from rating it with 5 stars.
Not in fact useable. Problems with Back-focus and F-stop ring
While it seems a intelligent design, in reality trying to use it on a panasonic GH1 and GH2 some problems exist with this adaptor and a Nikon adaptation I have as well:1: The Back-focus (distance between the lens and camera sensor) is too short and you have to focus lenses at about 15ft for infinity focal point. This reduces the close focus distance and also prevents one from simply setting the lens to infinity using the off, or any distance using the focus scale. This also prevents zoom lenses from holding heart while you zoom, causing you to have to refocus every time you change focal length.2: The Lay off-down ring that allows you to quickly open the lens or stop it down to a preset value does not detain securely and the spring tension of the lens iris system can cause it to creep or spring unsealed completely. On a couple of large zoom Canon zoom lenses the Iris springs are sturdy enough that I constantly have to hold the stop down ring in the closed (locked) position...

    It works well
As popular by the other reviewers, the aperture of the EF lens in use cannot be changed when the lens is mounted on the micro 4/3 camera main part, you also lose autofocus capability and the image stabilization function of the EF lenses. Those are the downsides to this adapter. The upside is the talent to use a wide range of Canon EF lenses on you Olympus or Panasonic micro 4/3 bodies. The kindest benefit here is the use of the long lenses and EF tele-zooms. You get an effective doubling of the focal ultimately with no loss of lens speed. My 70-200/2.8 EF lens is now the equivalent of a 140-400mm zoom with the same utmost aperture of f/2.8 when used on my Lumix G1. In addition, the minimum focus haughtiness of the lens remains the same. Not a bad compromise, in my opinion. Of course, you have to be aware that this doubling of focal in detail effect also doubles the likelihood of camera shake when handholding. Consider a tripod or use a higher ISO.I've only hand-me-down this adapter a short...
Well made, overpriced, yet significance every penny...
Do you have multiple Canon EF Lenses? How could you NOT buy this artefact? You paid too much NOT to be able to use them on your Micro 4/3rds body. Not to mention that other than the 20 f1.7 pancake, there surely aren't many fast lenses available for micro 4/3. Now I can use my 50 f1.4, 100 f2.0, 135L f2.0, & 24-70L f2.8Yes, yes...no Cleft control using the 4/3 body - you must set it to a certain F stop on your Canon Body and (while holding the 'profoundly of field preview' button) remove the lens.(I shoot wide open most of the in days of yore anyway)And, I'm sure you know, there will be no Auto Focus. That does suck, but it's to be expected. In short, it's a penury in my case not a need...but it sure is fun to be able to mix my current lens collection with my new GF1.-------------Enlarge quality is above average, but is nothing to write home about. It works as advertised.
Works entirely - needs a simple explanation
It seems the bad reviews on this offshoot are a result of people not knowing that it does not allow you to change aperture, or the reviewers didn't comprehend how the single mechanism on the device works. Fotodiox really should have included a simple one-take care instruction with the product: to remove the adapter from the lens, pull the tab TOWARD the camera and rotate the adapter. You don't make the tab in, up or down, as we're used to doing with tabs/buttons. You pull it toward you/the camera. The Kippon adapter works the same way, which is why I knew to do it on this one.Beyond that pot-pourri, the adapter is fantastic! I honestly expected a piece of junk for this price, and I only needed it to get through one injure. I was happily surprised to find that it's a solid piece of gear and fits perfectly on both the camera and lens. The Kippon adapter has some be occupied in to it, but this one is totally solid without being too tight to remove - really a perfect fit. The finish on it even...

HOW-TO instal Canon FD lens on Lumix GF1 camera
Exact, simple, inexpensive adapter! It arrived 3 days after I ordered, but without any instructions.Fairly straightforward to use, except for the jangle that controls the position of the pin for aperture control, and one needs to know how to set the camera menu options so that it accepts the instructions lens. Here's how I set up a Canon 50 mm f1.2 FD lens on my Panasonic Lumix GF1 camera:1. Fit adapter ring onto camera: align the red dot on the adapter and red dot on the camera, twist to close.2. Fit lens on adapter:2a. Stop the lens down to its smallest aperture.2b. On the adapter, there is a ring that rudder the position of a pin that allows for aperture control. Facing the front of the camera, turn the ring to its most counterclockwise rank.2c. Seat the lens on the adapter (align the red dots). Now turn the adapter Architecture to its most clockwise position. This aligns the pin with the lens pin.2d. Twist the lens...
Works outstanding - make sure you follow Kiang's how to
I bought it for my new Panasonic GH2 camera and a Canon FD 70-210mm lens. I could not get it to occupation at first basically the iris of the lens was wide open and not adjustable. After following Kiang's how-to (first post), I was superior to get it to work as expected. I set my camera focus to manual; turn on "Shoot without a lens" in the Duty menu; select A or M mode (per Kiang and have not tried other modes); adjust the desired hole on the lens and shoot it away. I noticed the manual focus assistance on the GH2 (zoom in while adjusting woolly) does not work the same as the kit lens, but I was able to activate it using the jog dial whenever I need it. I letter for letter found this by accident. Also noted is the F number is always blank in the photo's attribute. This is understandable since the camera has no way of getting this tidings from this manual lens.I came from a machinist background so can also tell that the quality and workmanship is A-one on this adapter. I am...
    Powerful construction - works well
Not much more to be said. Bought this for the Lumix GH1, you objective need to go into the user menu and activate the "Use camera without lens" feature so the Lumix stops significant you to check the lens. Also if you want to check critical focus click on the button that adjusts where the sharply defined unclear center will be and it does the whole zoom in thing as though the kit lens was mounted.

It Works! Undemanding to use once you learn this secret.
I've as for oneself used this adapter on several micro-four-thirds cameras. I can verify that it works on the Olympus E-P1 and E-PL1. It also works on the Panasonic GF1.To mount the adapter on the GF1, for warning, line up the red dot on the REAR of the adapter with the dot on your camera's lens mount. Then twist clockwise (when you're fa the front of the camera). This is no different than mounting any other lens to the GF1.Then mount your lens to the adapter by lining up the dot on your lens to the dot on the FRONT of the adapter. Or, you can mount the lens to the adapter first - it makes no imbalance. On the GF1, you'll need to go to the last page of the Custom menu and enable "SHOOT W/O LENS." Otherwise, the LCD will display an incorrectly. Other cameras may require some similar setting.HOW DO I GET THE %$#@!&! THING OFF?!Now, here's the secret. The little shining joystick-shaped knob on the adapter is the lens release. It only...
Be Controllable and Think and this adapter is fine for connecting your 4/3 Camera to Nikon Lens.
Be Tractable and Think and this adapter is fine for connecting your 4/3 Camera to Nikon Lens.1st recognize Nikon lens twist on going counter clockwise. The opposite direction of the 4/3 Camera & Canon Lensmounts.Look at the only slightly lever and slide it and watch the little pin retract. You need to hold the slide when you assign your Nikon lens. Make sure you line up the dots of the lens and adapter and then win sure the pin clicks into it's hole. I then attach the adapter with the lens attached to the body of my 4/3 Panasonic G2 camera. You will have noauto heart and the aperture is also manually controlled by the ring on the lens. Just never get impatient and think about the sliding lever and repay sure you are turning the lens and adapter in the correct direction.
    Works simply fine for me.
Seeing all of the refusing reviews gave me pause for concern, but I went ahead and ordered this adapter anyway. I'm to death I did. The copy that I received was well machined and well finished. It fit my 4/3 body (E-PL1) and 8 different Nikkor handbook focus lenses perfectly. No problems mounting or demounting the Nikkor lenses with the adapter. No overflow play. All of my lenses focused at infinity. The only thing that kept me from rating this adapter 5-unmatched is that the interior is a smooth gloss finish. It would be a truly excellent product had the manufacturer made the heartland with ribbing/matte finish to reduce the chance of flair.

    It Works
This adaptor does its job, it allows any Canon EF lens to mount on a micro four thirds camera. It's intimate and the release buttom moves onlyabout 1/8 inch toward the camera to allow murder -- it does not push in or out. Of course, no AF or aperture control is possible so all lenses will be at their max hole (you can set the lens to a specific f-stop and then remove it from a Canon camera while holding the depth of field private showing button to capture a non-wide open alternative, clumsy but effective.)
    Works as advertised.
I acquainted with this adapter to mount Canon EF lenses on a Panasonic GF1. Because the aperture on EOS lenses is controlled electronically, you can only fling wide open with this adapter.
Works well with EF and EF-S lenses
The adapter, made in all metal, frenzy snugly well on Olympus PEN E-PL2. This allows me to use my EF and EF-S lenses with E-PL2.There are a few things you should take note though. One, as usual with any lens adapter on the Stock Exchange, the auto-focus does not work, as the M4/3 camera cannot communicate with incompatible lenses. Two, most if not all EOS lenses do not have the instructions aperture control, and for this, you can't directly stop down the aperture.
