I use the adaptor with Nex5, which makes it in agreement with 50mm fl f1.8 and an FD zoom lens. With the firmware update for Nex5 (useful update for Nex3, but NexC3 and Nex5N prove to be c finish updated), the peaking option makes the manual focus fun with older lens.
Doesn't fit - get PhotoDiox
Lens mounts ok, but adapter WILL NOT staple to camera. It will sit in flange, but cannot turn - not even a little bit. Closer inspection reveals slightly contrastive cut outs on the adapter from my other accessories. Not much different, but which may be responsible(?). Disappointed. Return. After ordering the FotoDiox as opposed to, which has the right cut outs, and which also may be machined correctly on the flange itself (I can't be sure exactly why one works, and not the other in the the public of very tight tolerances), all is now well, and the PhotoDiox adapter is far nicer looking also, really seeming to be part of the lens/camera combo.

An superior mount for your Sony Alpha Nex
I bought this adapter because I needed more versatility out of my Alpha Nex 5, as I only had the 16mm lens. I didn't hanker after to drop $300 for the 18-55 lens, especially with the amount of barrel distortion it has. So with already having a couple FD lenses, I was devoted on buying this adapter. I must say, it was an excellent purchase! I was warned that it might degrade image quality if I use a mount, but my pictures look advantage than ever. This is everything you could ever want out of a mount, it's small, allows for breach and bayonet mounting (I have both, and have tested both to labour incredibly), and even aperture control (make sure to mount the lens correctly though otherwise you will not have this trait)! This adapter specifically is incredible because of the price you can get FD lenses. I have a Vivitar 28-200 macro, a Vivitar 500mm Looking-glass lens, a Canon 50mm prime, and a Canon 70-150mm zoom lens (picked them up for about a total of $45, look around Goodwill and garage sales for...

Well made Cyclopean buy
I purchased 4 divers version of this adapter for my Sony NEX-7. I have posted the same review for all 4 of them.1- Contax- G2, The fit is large on both camera and lense side and I did not notice any IQ degradation. The focus ring initially was a bit hard to occupation. Partly because the ring is close to the body and there is not much room. The lense also requires some torque to move the internal parts. But after I played with it joined to the lens but off the camera it losend up. Take your time attaching the lense to the adapter not to damage the focusing method. Those of you who have this lense know why. I just wanted to remind you.2- Canon, The fit on the camera side has a bit of rotational cause trouble but dose not seems to effect the Proformance the lense side is perfect. UPDATE: I condign bought a second Fotodiox Canon-Nex adapter, and it has been improved slightly over the previous one. The aperture private showing ring is wider, with an easier-to-grip texture. It also moves more smoothly. The rest of the adapter is unchanged and still works impeccably. My plan is to leave the tripod mount on one, for use with my long Canon lenses and leave it off the other, for sleeker handheld use and for compatibility with the Canon bellows.As before, I keenness that they had made it a few thousandths thinner so that lenses would focus at or closer to the infinity stop.The Fotodiox adapter hysteria the NEX body perfectly and snaps in place with a rotation-free and vibration-free fit. Works well, but screws needed tightening
At first this adapter met all my expectations. It is na, easy, and works. It was a little fiddly to attach the first couple of times but surprisingly unwavering and easy all times after that--there is definitely a knack to it.But then the attachment on the FD side of the adapter became sloppy and loose. On cramped examination I saw this was due to three tiny screws that had worked their way loose. I tightened them all up carefully (I was a bit scared of over-tightening such Lilliputian screws) and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I have really been enjoying it!

Elementary and it works
Bought this to make suitable some Canon FD and nFD lenses to my NEX. A bit fiddly to get on and off the old lenses, but it works great and fits snugly. I get one for each old lens. It's easier to keep it forever attached and only have to deal with the e-mount fitting. I can focus to infinity and use manual aperture confederation on the lens.

This adapter is nicety machined and fits with no wiggle on the lens and camera. However, the iris causes vignetting when closed more than 30%, so I heed that feature superfluous and don't use it.I shoot all my lenses wide open when attached to this adapter and reconcile oneself to exposure using shutter speed alone. If you want to use your lenses stopped down, you'll either have to pre-adjust them on a Canon camera before mounting them on this adapter, or pay $400 for a much more refined adapter.For precise mounting of Canon lenses to the Sony camera, it does the job quite well. If you shoot with considerable open aperture, it's all you need. I only gave it 3 stars because the adjustable iris is, for practical purposes, hopeless.Update: The rotating iris ring give an f/stop range of approximately 4 f/stops to restraint light entry onto the sensor, but I'm not sure it gives much change in terms of depth of area. i purchased it for my tokina 11-16 mm to mount it on the nex 7 camera , it doesn't labour , you cannot control the aperture by it , its useless if you want to close or open the aperture , so it's not usable for video at all , but works well for photos as you can regulate the aperture through the shutter .All Fotodiox products are well crafted and very durable , I am a heavy dslr alcohol and the Fotodiox is well trusted .However more warnings on the way this adaptor work could have saved me some money , it's my mistake that I didn't dig more into the undergo before I purchased this item .

Before Buying, Respect...
If you're a Canon EF lens proprietress, in addition to being a Nex owner, this adapter will naturally appeal to you at least at first glance. After all, why not be able to use your Canon lenses on your Nex?Here's why not.First, the fit of this adapter is rather erratic. As an earlier commenter remarked it can be very tight. But, as I've experienced, it can also be unusably loose on some lenses. It's a melodic cheesy product with poor tolerance control and a poor spring pin lock.But secondly, and most vital, like all of these adapters this thing is a completely passive, mechanical gadget. Your lens receives no signals or power from the camera. And, since Canon's lenses have want since lost their mechanical aperture ring the lens will always be wide-open. This is really not a nice thing.Perhaps you have an old FD lens with an aperture ring that's been outfitted for EF mount? Fine (although it's probably not contemporary to focus to infinity)...
