    Leisurely to mis-use.
from 47th St. CameraI ordered both adapters from Amazon.Com and recieved the CZFDEOSA from Adorama and a by-product marked Kipon FD-EOS from 47th ST Camera. The Kipon product is excellent. Unfortunately it can easily be mis-occupied for three reasons. 1) It is high precision and fits the EOS body very tight. It must be turned until it "clicks", which takes more than the expected vigour. 2) The adapter lens mount allows the adapter lens to be easily removed, and might be positioned out of string of focus. There is no lens stop, which is good since I can adjust to match the exact point of infinity on the lens. The viewpoint seems to be the same for all my FD lenses. 3) The product would benefit from some instructions even though they are obvious to...
    Sufficient adapter
The sort I received was "Kipon". The adapter comes without instructions, but I found it easy to figure out (It rightful took about 30 seconds). One red dot was to line up with the eos camera mount, and the other red dot was to line up with the FD lens mount. The words "hook and open" are written on the adapter. You turn it counterclockwise (open) to mount the lens, after which you can discontinue it as is, or you can turn it clockwise (lock) to get the aperture blades to stop down. I'm not a camera expert but I did not find it that enigmatical to use.As might be expected, the corrective lens is not high quality, but then again it doesn't claim to be. Quality of pictures is hit or mistake. Some of them do come out soft (in some cases 'misty', or with a bright aura), but other times I can't tell the dissimilarity from those taken with an EF lens. I've taken a lot of good pictures with this adapter. In the end, it's good for playing around with your old FD lenses, but...
Canon FD lens to EOS EF Confederation Mount
I bought this adapter to take gain of the great FD lens buys on Ebay. It works. However, I find it much more user demanding than EF and EF-S lens. It's a discriminating toy and good gear to go with your EOS camera if you have FD lenses or are thinking about getting any. Bottom line, it works.

Works, but could be advantage . . .
I purchased this adapter in the hopes it would aside me to use my FD glass on my EOS 5D until I could afford equivalent EF lenses. I used it with my FD 50mm f1.4, FD 135mm f2.5 SC lenses and did some experimenting with a 400mm f6.3 T-Mount lens. Here are some of my conclusions:1) The adapter's lens diameter is too tiny for a full frame camera like the 5D. This leads to vignetting which would be a problem if you try to use the image out to the edge. It was not as especial with the 135mm lens as it was with the 50mm or 400mm. Note that this may not be an issue with crop sensor cameras. I reason if the this problem could be fixed by increasing the adapter's lens diameter.2) The experiment with the 400mm lens was to interval the adapter's lens and use it as an extension tube to improve the close focus of that particular lens. I would not plug doing that since the adapter lens does not come out as one piece - so you have to be very careful to remember how to...
    Fotodiox Adapter Works Well
The adapter does what it says it does. Yes you consume a little detail because of the extra glass piece. I have 4 FD lenses that I can now use with my Canon 60D. Believe it or not, when I shoot in video procedure I love the way the video looks when I use this adapter. It has a slight movie-like faint obscure. It's a good effect. If you are looking to take really crisp pictures, you might not want to purchase. Don't get me unjust though, the pictures still look really good. You just lose a little detail. Hope this examination helps with your decision.
    Tested today
i reasonable tested the adapter today , with a 28-70 Summatech 1:2.8 ~ 4.2 and the pictures came out catchy good , HD video's nice also ... the adapter looks like it can handle the unfathomable-er lens , but i would not put all my money on that ... i will still support the lens wile shooting . and given that i throw up about 13 $ on the lens at a thrift store , i think this adapter is really worth the outlay. Another detail , make sure you lock the lens all the way ... wait for the click.

    A careful buy
I purchased this adapter because it was the only one sold on a significant photo equipment website, and had good reviews there. So far it works as advertised and was simple to unite.Aperture on my FD lens is easy to set, it changes the light amount live as you look through your viewfinder. After that you unprejudiced manually focus. No biggie.I don't plan on pulling out the glass for macro, as others have reviewed there is no augury of exactly where it's supposed to be set.For the price + some cheap used glass off ebay, this product was a seemly choice.I'm dropping a star because it didn't come with instructions, though attaching it is not hard at all to plate out.
    Bower FD-EOS
Works discriminating. Easy to install & operate. Will add 1.25 magnification factor to your setupWill NOT allow you to have an infinity focal point.tests:[...]
    not good it
I was hoping this would concede me to some of my old FD lenses in my rebel but to no avail. the quality is not there for what it is worth. should have bought a Lomo lens as an alternative. Its made very well but its jsut not worth the money and effort.

    Works well
This adapter works well. Toughened old FD Lenses (Canon and Tamron) on my Rebel XSi. Image quality is absolutely fine for most people. Does not arrive with instructions, but obviously only fits one way. Need to have plenty of light or external flash for nice results. If you already have a collection of FD Lenses then this is a good product.
    Works Talented
This adapter sic saved me 100s of dollars by allowing me to use all of the lenses from my Canon AE1 with my Rebel XTi. I was able to use it to connect both Canon and Albinar lenses.Shipping was nimble-witted as well and the item was well-packed.
    Marvellous adapter
I bought this EOS to FD adapter to put older Canon FD lenses on my Canon EOS Nonconformist T2i (550 D).I've been using this adapter for two weeks and it works great. I didn't see any cheapness with the develop quality. The adapter fit nicely on the body and FD lenses fit nice and snug. Nothing felt like it was growing to fall apart. I was able to shoot great video with cheap FD lenses from ebay!

    Customer Reviews

This is Primary for using the superior lenses of the past
Note the Photo above is NOT this artefact. This product is a adapter which contains a LENS and is superior to the one shown. The Canon FD/FL series of lenses for the spike mount cameras of the past were the standard of high quality optics, and the FL SC and SSC lenses were the foremost lenses on the market. When the lighter weight eos lenses replaced the bayonet system, many users were unnatural to retire these superior quality manual focus lenses. This adapter is far superior to the tastelessly machined glassless adapters available elsewhere, I own both. Not only does this adapter fit well on both the camera bodies ( I use XS and XSi) and the lenses, the source optical quality is maintained as well as infinity focus.By being a 1.3X teleconverter you gain new magnification, but this is of course unnoticeable when composing in the camera.Metering is uneffected, and the cheaper glassless one causes "enunciation" errors which...
    Loving terrible option
I'm using it to conterminous with a Canon Rebel Xti and an old Canon zoom lens. This is a great option for those who don't like letting old lenses go to unused. While I agree with the other reviewers that the combination can be a little cumbersome, it beats having to buy a new lens. Inordinate product!
    Works as Advertised
I purchased this particular even after reading some of the negative reviews. Here's my take.Old lenses are a lot of fun and you can get some great lenses for a reasonable price. My macro lens set someone back me around $100 and it performs much, much better than that. The adapter is a simple metal ring that fits on your camera council lens mount. I happen to have a , but it shouldn't matter as long as the camera has an EF mount. You formulate up the red dots like you would on a lens and twist it to lock it into place. After that, you mount the lens (I have a Canon FD 50mm f/3.5 macro lens). It snapped instantly into place. In this configuration, I like to set the camera on AE mode so that I can manually adjust the aperture on the lens and concede the camera to meter and pick the shutter speed. The only problem (which...

HOW-TO put Canon FD lens on Lumix GF1 camera
Trim, simple, inexpensive adapter! It arrived 3 days after I ordered, but without any instructions.Fairly straightforward to use, except for the dialect knoll that controls the position of the pin for aperture control, and one needs to know how to set the camera menu options so that it accepts the instructions lens. Here's how I set up a Canon 50 mm f1.2 FD lens on my Panasonic Lumix GF1 camera:1. Settle adapter ring onto camera: align the red dot on the adapter and red dot on the camera, twist to close.2. Settle lens on adapter:2a. Stop the lens down to its smallest aperture.2b. On the adapter, there is a ring that wheel the position of a pin that allows for aperture control. Facing the front of the camera, turn the ring to its most counterclockwise placement.2c. Seat the lens on the adapter (align the red dots). Now turn the adapter heraldry annulet to its most clockwise position. This aligns the pin with the lens pin.2d. Twist the lens...
Works enormous - make sure you follow Kiang's how to
I bought it for my new Panasonic GH2 camera and a Canon FD 70-210mm lens. I could not get it to labour at first basically the iris of the lens was wide open and not adjustable. After following Kiang's how-to (first situation), I was able to get it to work as expected. I set my camera focus to manual; turn on "Shoot without a lens" in the Specially menu; select A or M mode (per Kiang and have not tried other modes); adjust the desired chasm on the lens and shoot it away. I noticed the manual focus assistance on the GH2 (zoom in while adjusting bring into focus) does not work the same as the kit lens, but I was able to activate it using the jog dial whenever I need it. I thus found this by accident. Also noted is the F number is always blank in the photo's attribute. This is understandable since the camera has no way of getting this news from this manual lens.I came from a machinist background so can also tell that the quality and workmanship is magic on this adapter. I am...
    Sound construction - works well
Not much more to be said. Bought this for the Lumix GH1, you condign need to go into the user menu and activate the "Use camera without lens" feature so the Lumix stops striking you to check the lens. Also if you want to check critical focus click on the button that adjusts where the woolly center will be and it does the whole zoom in thing as though the kit lens was mounted.

Canon 50mm EF or Canon 50mm FD with adaptor? Please help?

    Hi,

I am disquieting to buy a 50mm lens for my Canon EOS 450d, I have seen the EF f/1.8 for £99 but have also seen the FD f/1.8 for £8 on ebay.

I be versed the FD is a different fit, but I have found an adaptor for £21,

The EF 50mm is attractive much a must have lens for the EOS, its just so versatile, cheap and fast (for the price). I think you can find an EF50/1.8 for less than £99 if you look hardened enough.

Definitely the build quality isn't that
