A small addition to the E500...
However, if your avid is to use this as a remote shutter release from the side or behind the camera, then don't bother with the purchase. It is designed to be used in front of the camera obviously so you can yoke in the shot with your subject. Great for those vacations where it is you and your significant other (with a tripod) and no one else to take the photo. Also a good choosing if you want to reduce the chance of "blurring" during low light photos such as sunsets and candle spry. Again, you need to be in front of the camera (30 degree coverage directly looking at the lens).
    A gift for self-portrait & group shots!
This is the moment RM-1 remote control that I have. The first one came with my C-2020Z camera and served me well. I used it to take some 2000 pics. In the interim, I also threw in lots of misusage for good measure |-) : I dropped it numerous times, stepped on it, etc. When it finally conked out, the primeval battery was still going strong. Battery power consumption had not been an issue. The remote restrain is great for taking self-portrait, or for group shots. It's *much* better than using the self-timer: no exigency to run & get into position after tripping the timer! The only problem that I experienced was when using it outdoors, its range is fairly limited. Once when I needed to take a pic of a group of people posing next to their cars (i.e. a pic where the camera needs to be a bit of a way away), I needed to protest up closer to the camera (on a tripod) before the remote control would work.-- Andy Nguyen \ aqn at...
    Obscure control is usable
The RM-1 is very concentrated and easily storable in the smallest of places. I use it with my E-300 Evolt Digital SLR. With this camera only the large shutter knob on the remote is usable. The other 4 buttons for zoom and +/- are not applicable to that particular camera. A bit of a disappointment after getting it, but I in all likelihood wouldn't have used them anyway.

    Celebrated Battery; worth the price.
Sony is again the ensemble to look for with great products. I have experience with the Sony DSLR camers and the previous freestyle, (FM55), which was a great battery to use. I was loving the length of time I got from the battery but this one goes even stronger. This newer battery-operated blows the lid off the amount of pictures. Once I could get around 900 shots now I can get about 1500 shots depending on flash convention and setup. If you need a battery with the stamina to keep pace with your picture taking this is it. It's even backwards on the same wave length with the older Alpha 100 but the 100 battery will not work in the Alpha 700.
    Gigantic Stamina!
Very positive battery life. I was able to photograph an entire 6 to 7 hour Wedding without changing the battery-operated once. I bought two of these batteries, but probably only needed to buy one because the life is better than I thought. Oh well, it's better to have too many batteries than too dollop...Also, this battery definitely lasts longer than the original battery that came with my Sony A-100.
    Conflicting with Sony DSLRA100
I bought this mobile after reading Amazon reviews and also after checking with Sony about the compatibility of this battery for Sony alpha 100. The freestyle cover also says it is a replacement battery for NP-FM55H. But when I charged and inserted the battery into my Sony DSLRA100 camera, it diplayed "Conflicting product. Use the right model". Do not use this battery for Sony alpha 100 camera.

Well-behaved Remote at a Good Price
This is a legitimate remote release cord that does what it's supposed to do, and for a price that's a mere fraction of what I'd have had to pay for the frank Sony remote cord. Plus, the fact that it has a 10-ft cord -- in lieu of the shorter, beau id length -- increases the scope of its possible uses. A version with a 3-foot string is available for five dollars less, but I feel that the 10-foot cord is well worth the slightly higher value. Just a few minor quibbles ...1. The button feels kind of mushy, with the change-over between "half-press" and "full-press" not very firm or well-defined. This makes me wonder how durable it's succeeding to be in the long run. However, it works as it's supposed to (at least for now), and considering that I could buy four of these with the money the genuine Sony remote (with the shorter string) would have cost me, I find this to be an acceptable compromise.2. The molded right-angle connector that plugs into the camera faces express...
    Works spacious
I sanctuary't had any problems with the connection to my Sony A350, it fits nice and snug. It actually works well-advised b wealthier and offers more control than the little wireless remote I have for my old Canon.
    Opteka Sequestered
This is a brilliant product. It's much cheaper than the sony version. I use it on my Sony a300 and it works great. Also works on my Minolta Maxxum 5 camera. The excess length is great too.

Does more than you meditate on.
Some reviewers have said that only the "S" handle works to fire the shutter. Actually all the buttons work on my E-520. All the other buttons work in the playback fad. The + and - buttons advance the frames while the W and T buttons scroll through the other playback views and the +/- buttons also employment once the W/T buttons have been pressed. If you play with this you will see what I mean. So all in all this is a fully functional remote for my camera and well worth the shekels.
It works gigantic at a great price
What more can I say, it does what it is theorized to do, I can get some self portraits done now.

    A100 Users Be careful **UPDATE**
I recently purchased this for my Sony A100. Doesn't line. Or rather, it works if I have my finger halfway depressing the shutter release on the camera and then click the button on the sequestered, which defeats the purpose of this device. I see a few other A100 users have had problems with the 10ft version of this remote, so I'm genesis to think this isn't compatible, despite the item description explicitly saying it is. If you're an A100 consumer, I'd look elsewhere.Edit: After digging this device out after having it in storage for months, I finally got it working. I must not have had the kin attached fully before, but it seems to work now after persuading the plug a little bit.
    Tuppence and works.
Buy this if you emergency a cheap remote cable trigger. I have a wireless trigger but I also needed a wired one. I bought this and it's just right, why pay more?
    well advantage the money
I equitable bought the Opteka remote shutter release for Sony cameras and tested it on 3 cameras, an A100, an A77 and an A850, all Alpha models. It's a very solidly fit in all models. I had to push it into its socket so hard I was initially afraid I might damage the cameras, but it did employment in all 3 cameras. Too tight is better than too loose. The plug is a right-angle plug and orients the wire toward the front of the camera. Down would be much more wisely both for convenience and to reduce the chance of the cord coming unplugged. Back is not always possible due to Sony's aim of the "door" to the female socket for the remote release. The cord is not as limp as it should be nor as long either, to minify transmission of movement from user's hand to camera body. But at this price it's well worth the money if you do any tripod occupation at all. I'm happy with this item.

But for the fact that charger that is a space saver too.
This stallion takes up minimal space. The prongs for plugging into the wall fold in preventing snags. A- design. It also charges your spare battery in minimal time.Highly recommend.
    Proper product
I like this mount, very small and portable. Sony shoud sell a extra battery / charger combo. I steady recommend it for taking vacations.
This brief charger is a "must have" for DSC-R1 owners!
Leave behind the "brick" and the AC cord! Just get one of these compact chargers and an extra battery and your DSC-R1 will never be out of power. I take a charged battery in my gear bag attached to the little charger and swap and recharge as needed.

In reality, you shoot some crappy, low-rez video of a still scene. You then reshoot the same scene with a digital camera (with higher purposefulness). Software can automagically combine these images to upconvert the video AND fix problems in the personification— all while compensating for 3D space. Make sense? The remarkable video will make plain things a bit
