It works
I purchased this to use with my ([...])camera plating; it allows me to use my current tripod with the base w/o having to install the QR plate each time I thirst for to use the tripod. It's inexpensive, but holds my Canon T2i securely, even with a 50-200mm zoom lens. I can gain the tripod w/ camera attached w/ no fear of the camera falling off.The only negative I have is that the size adapter (that allows this to be betrothed to a QR plate or other 1/4-20 screw) is very weak. I just broke mine, but was planning on getting the put right bolt to attache the clap directly to my tripod head, removing the current QR system.

Can't tour it for the price
The Arca-Swiss group quick release system has become all but standard within the photographic world, particularly for nature photographers who demand to mount and unmount lenses, macro rails, etc., in a hurry while in the field. Equipping all of one's cog with plates or clamps to work within this system can become quite expensive. It is wonderful to see that a low-cost but still quite well-made and prosaic-duty Arca-style clamp is now available from Desmond. I purchased one of these clamps in order to switch a Manfrotto/Bogen type tripod head to work with lenses and cameras that use Arca-luxury plates. It works great! I will likely get another one to fit a window mount.That the small bubble smooth out is not easily visible once a piece of gear is mounted on the clamp is a small drawback, but for my purposes it definitely is not important. Overall, this little Desmond clamp does the job for half the cost or less of alike resemble clamps made by other companies.

Affordable Sharp Release
There are a multitude of companies that produce quick release clamps that are compatible with the arca-swiss dove-tail. These can be very overpriced. I have them from a top manufacturer and use it all the time for my tripod and L-bracket that stays permanently on my camera.This quick liberate was for the that I purchased. I needed a quick release to put on one end of the Long Lens Support. This attachment makes it unexcitedly for me to connect the long lens support to my L-bracket on my camera.This was an inexpensive quick issue but it's well made - all aluminum, and nicely finished in black. Made my focusing berate into quick release
I got a inferior focusing rail from Adorama. The rail works fine but requires removing my short release plate from the camera so I can screw it into the focusing rail. Once you're used to quick rescuing, that becomes very annoying. I put a plate on the bottom of the rain and this on top, so I can keep the plate on the camera. I hope this makes sense. It works, though it further fifty bucks to the cost of the rail. I had an extra plate for the bottom.Anyway, this clamp is well machined and planed. It holds the camera securely, and the level allows me to use the focusing rail for panoramas. The premium is very good when you compare it to brand names. I have a , and a Kirk plate, so I'm used to quality. I don't seem to be this is a compromise at all.

Secure product for the price
Expected for quick mounting and un-mounting of cameras, up to about ten pounds weight (estimate). Not for heavy furnishings or over ten pounds. An excellent head for a monopod or a light or medium tripod. Adaptable for use to many other perceptive release plates such as Arca-Swiss, and others. Hex head safety fasteners will stop theaccidental release of the dexterous release plate, they can be removed completely (but do not interfere with thedesign of the system). Exalted Lens Plate
Wow,Looks by the skin of one's teeth like my Wimberley Lens Plate. I can't tell the difference, the only difference I see is my Wimberley came with two especially screws. This one comes with two stop screws I call them... and the lens mount screw. It comes in a trim box with instructions, and two allen wrenches for the screws, which seem two be stainless. Outstanding Lens Plate for the worth, I will never buy another Arca Swiss or a Wimberley as long as this brand holds up, and I see no reason for it to fail.

Well-intended lens plate
If you impecuniousness a lens plate with anti-twist tabs, the entire RI LP-nnn series works in fact well. And the price is really right.One nice feature is the slot for the mounting screw comes to within 1/2" of the anti-interpretation tab. I have a couple of small footprint spotting scopes (and some mini clamps) that need this terse distance to engage the tab. On some competing lens plates, the slot stops too far away from the tab, showing the anti-twist feature useless.I also find the centerline 1/4" accessory hole comes in manoeuvrable for all kinds of ad hoc mounting applications (e.g. mini-clamp to make a nodal slide or macro censure, mini-ballhead for outboard mic, etc.). I have competing lens plates that lack this impression, and I quickly come to miss it.As for compatibility, I own dozens of Arca-Swiss style plates and clamps from seven special manufacturers (including Arca-Swiss). Proper plate with affordable price!
I was chary to buy this product. I bought Generation 4 before to use with my 500/2.8 and I also have RRS plate. I love them. When I saw this product and its price, I impartial wanted to give it a try (for my Nikon 300/2.8 VR). From the product info, I'm supposed to buy LP-115 for that lens. I thoughtfulness I ordered the wrong one, but actually this LP-100 fits perfectly with Nikon 300/2.8 VR foot. I even have in mind it would be a little too long for LP-115. Anyway, the quality of the product is great. It does not look cheapo as I would look forward. It comes with everything needed. However, one thing that I can notice, it's a little bit heavier than RRS at the same size. But it's subtle though. If you fall short of to save some $$, this is it.

Rank Plate That Works
I needed a longer Short release plate for my Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L to work with my Opteka GH1 gimbal forestall (which uses a standard Arca Swiss type plate). Curiously, the screws are provided but they are not pre-assembled. You need to instate the two safety screws and thread the large screw through the slot yourself, using the provided allen wrenches - only took a transcript, though.This plate fits the Opteka GH1 clamp perfectly. It's a well-machined aluminum plate. Not much that requests to be said except that it works.

Mind these DO NOT WORK on Arca Swiss Tripod Heads!!!!!
What a crucial disappointment! I bought one of these so-called arca swiss compatible lens plates for mounting to a Sigma lens tripod necklace. The finish quality of the plate is fine. While the plate has the correct shape, the plate is manufactured slightly too confine so the plate cannot be secured to an arca swiss tripod head. This plate just slides loosely within the arca swiss mount. I unbiased wasted my time and (money if I don't get a refund.) What was I thinking to try one of these plates. I just ordered a relocate mounting plate of the same brand like the plate that came with my tripod head. Do not atrophy your time purchasing these plates if you are expecting them to work with an arca swiss compatible tripod head. THEY DON'T. The manufacturing of these plates require to be corrected!
