    consummate addition to your purse
Attachment the Great point light pocket magnifier! works great, especially if you recall your glasses and can't read the menu when you are out for dinner.... the light is a bonus in a dark restaurant, too. I would have inclined 5 stars if it came with a case that covers the glass. The clear plastic case it comes in is a particle tacky and I'd be willing to pay a little more for a nice case to protec the lens.
    Very advantage but not great
What I liked was the characteristic of the lens and the built in light. Then lens had no discernable distortion anywhere. It magnified everything evenly without the ripples and distortion that I've seen with other low set someone back magnifiers. This light is a nice touch and easy to use. If you want it on just pull the lens out a bit. It is focused very concealed to the center of what you will be look at and provides nice, even coverage. What I didn't like was the brightness (in reality dimmness) of the light and where it is focused. LEDs can be lots brighter, I know as I've seen them. Also, the mild focuses at the center of you field of view but only when the lens is too close to be focused properly.Bottom speciality is this is a good value for a magnifier and could have been made great with better quality control.BTW, I feel that unequivocal, effective reviews can take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I've always prized the help...
    Uttermost invention ever
I purchased this because my other magnifying specs were scratched and it is a son of a gun holding the magnifying glass in one hand and a flashlight in the other. This product solves that with flying colors. The lamp is very promising, and illuminates very well. The 3 X optical is just right... whether it is splinters, small print or dates on money, or identifying small bugs, this will easily make all things larger and visible. The day after I got mine, I ordered two more.. .one for my 86 year old priest in law and one for my 78 year old mom. The day after my father in law got his, he called up and asked for another one for a neighbor who saw it and also wanted on. My mom called a few natural life later and asked me to get one for my aunt. I now have bought six of them in the last two weeks. The bright translucent colors are good-looking and help the elders find it easily. The only downside, as mentioned in other reviews, it the plastic case it comes in. I tossed mine and put...

    lamp rethink
The is faultlessly what I was looking for. A battery operation floor lamp with a magnifier portable enough to move anywhere in the house. I'm not fearful about the permanent LED lights, they should last for years. I did have two problems. The weight of the magnifier lamp is top-heavy and will top over if not hanging right with the base. and even though the neck attachments are screwed together, there is nothing to secure them into the base and you have to pick up the whole lamp by the cheap to move it, making it a lot less portable.
    amity THIS LAMP
Now a higher- ranking citizen, I've recently resumed a former hobby: embroidery. I love the peace while I do this beautiful employment - it is truly a form of meditation. It would not have been possible for me to resume this hobby without a magnifying floor light. This is a elated quality LED lamp which can be moved from easy chair to couch, or even out onto the balcony. It's light bias, yet sturdy. It has a battery option as well as a cord to plug into an electrical socket. The magnifier aim enables me to sharply see my fabric and thread. Now and then I've begun sewing at sundown, with adequate ambient frivolous in the room. I'll find myself an hour later surrounded by total darkness, yet the pool of light over the meagre world in which I am absorbed is so illuminating that I haven't noticed the gradual change in the room. There is even a magnifier within the magnifier - a round insert that further intensifies the magnification. This is is useful when I've made a mistake that...
    Enjoyment It
This magnifier disconcert lamp is just exactly what I was looking for! It is very easy to place beside my chair and tuck in a different place when not in use. The height of the lamp is perfect for knitting and many other activities. The light is the perfect intensity--resplendent enough to see anything you are working on, yet doesn't bother anyone else in the room. It really helps prevent the eye strain I was experiencing before purchasing this lamp. I prefer that it is priced reasonably, and the quality is very good. You can't go wrong using this lamp for needlework and much more!

Peculiar Lighted Magnifier with Different Lenses.
I have acclimated to many different magnifiers in my past as a jewelry designer. I bought this one as my own to use for tying tiny flies for fishing. I found this headband magnifier to be faultlessly what I have been looking for. It is great to have the different strength lenses and I also like the aimable light. This was a consummate buy for me. I highly recommend this magnifier to anyone needing to get in close to what ever you might be working on.
A Immaculate Product for the Price
This yield is not too durable in construction, but with gentle use, is suitable for it's price. The plastic lens did not hold it's contention after the first two uses (it flopped back and forth), so I had to run a piece of thin wire through the hinge to strengthen it. The bulb in the bearing in mind explain keeps coming loose and I have to tighten it periodically. It's hard to tighten the bulb (even with my modest fingers), so I gently used a pair of needle nose pliers, which worked admirable. The bulb does not overheat at all, even after several hours of continued use. The lenses are very good for being acrylic, the aspect is clear and the selection of ranges are great. I am an avid knitter, using very small needles for twisted work and have developed very poor eyesight over the years, but this magnifier allows me to be hands unconditioned and see very clearly. The light acts like a mini spot light, shining immediately on the work area and can be positioned easily to the left, right, up or down. It runs on 2 AA...
If it were thinkable to give less than one star, I would.
In all my 67 years, I have NEVER communicate across such a terrible product! Nothing about it worked as promised. The light switch didn't work AT ALL. The side screws never held it up, no episode how tight I tried it, even withoutthe weight to the lens. When they were added, it was a joke! DO NOT WASTE A DIME ON THIS. I returned mineand am utterly appalled that they would be allowed to market such an inferior product. As someone elsesaid, if I had seen this in a store, it wouldn't have occurred to me to buy it because it is made of such flimsymaterials.

    Description

The Donegan OptiVISOR is a hands-free-born, headband binocular magnifier that has optical glass lenses that are ground and polished into prismatic lenses for prominence and clarity, and is available in multiple dioptric strengths (indicated by the number in the model) which provender specific magnification power (X) at specific focal lengths, or distance from object. This magnifier enhances the appraise and resolution of an object or image, and is commonly used for a variety of applications such as jewelry-making, watch- making, stitching, artwork, electronic inspection, book-reading, print inspection, and stamp-collecting.

The OptiVISOR magnifier features replaceable binocular lenses that have beveled edges that are mounted in an interchangeable crummy frame. An adjustable headband with padded leather comfort band conforms to a classification of head sizes and provides comfort for hours of continuous use. It can be worn over prescription or sanctuary eyeglasses. A durable, plastic visor tips up above the forehead when not in use. Spring-loaded be contingent screws hold the headband in a raised or a forward-facing position. The magnifier weighs 0.67 lbs., and comes housed in a defensive shell and carrying case. It has a one-year limited warranty.

Diopter (D) is a technical appellation for the measurement of the light curvature and thickness of a lens. A dioptric number and a magnification mob are not the same thing. Diopter strength represents a specific magnification power (X). For prototype, a 5-diopter provides 2.5X magnification (at a distance of 8”). See the magnification chart. The higher the diopter, the more glorification a lens can provide. As magnification increases, distance to the object (focal length), and scope of view (diameter, or narrowness of view) decreases. Magnifiers and prescription eyeglasses have a diopter value, such as 1.5 or 2. The dioptric toughness of an accessory lens, such as prescription eyeglasses or an eye loupe, must be added to the dioptric strength of the magnifier to count total magnification.

Magnifiers are devices used to enlarge the visual appearance of an tangible or image. Magnifiers come in a variety of styles such as hand-held, headband, unbroken, clip-on, eye loupe, and those that hang in a necklace form, or fit in a trouser pocket. Magnifiers are equally made of plastic or glass. They can have one or more lenses with varying magnification abilities, and can have a binocular configuration with a single lens, or two unrelated lenses. They are sometimes used with LED or fluorescent light sources to help control viewing capabilities. Magnifier capability faculty is often expressed as magnification at a specific length. For example, 1.75X at 14” means that when a magnifier is held at 14” from a viewer’s eyes, the against will be magnified 1.75 times (X) its actual size. As magnification increases, viewing areas and focused length decrease. Magnifiers sometimes have a diopter number, expressed as + or -D, which is a measurement of strength (or power) of the lens. Some magnifiers are apparent with a dioptric number on the lens. A high diopter number has a higher magnification than a low diopter mass. Aspheric magnifiers, unlike spheric magnifiers, produce a sharp image to the tense of the lens for less distortion. Magnifiers are widely used in jewelry inspection and fabrication, eye-making, needlework, artwork, reading, print inspection, and stamp-collecting.

    Upgrade Instantly to Bionic Eyeballs!
I have owned an OptiVisor for several years. In the first place purchased for work, I bought a second pair for home and have used them for (to name a few) pulling splinters out of the kids fingers, impede of a problem with my dog's paw, detailed gluing of small project work, removing and assessing a tick, replacing a surveillance battery and for making small, detailed measurements. My eyes aren't what they used to be--but with these... they're briefly much, much better!Others have reviewed the limited depth of field. This is true--you'll need to be close to the thesis for it to be in focus. Please understand that this is not a fault of the manufacturer but is the way optics perform when designed to work in this manner. In my opinion, this limitation makes these an unsuitable solution for reading unless you need remotest help and are willing to hold the material very close. I've tried. It's clumsy. Two notes from my years of using this produce. 1) There are "thumbturn" tighteners...
Consequential for soldering surface mount componets
I been using this by-product for years and years, 1 have 2 broken ones where the plastic hood part cracks and is outrageous to glue back together.but is light weight and I can wear them all day working on electronic circuit boards. There are many magifications of this produce but this one a #5 is just right gives you about 7-8 inches away from work square footage
Seemly Magnifier but a little pricey
I bought this headband magnifier to be superior to work hands-free on electronic circuitry and small surface mount components. I thoughtfulness I'd be able to use a small soldering iron while wearing the visor, but at the point of good distinct there's only about 3 to 4 inches of clearance between the lenses and the work. It can still be done, but you have to be careful as you bring the iron in and out of the working direction so you don't burn the visor or the lenses. This magnifier is good overall. The fit is nice and snug and melodious comfortable to wear for extended time. The lenses are good quality, although if I had to buy another I'd get a lower elevation than this 3-1/2X. It's very hard to work with items because the focal length is under 4 inches. The 2.5X or 2.75X are in all probability better for getting more working distance. The knob-adjust headband is a nice peculiarity for quickly adjusting to a snug fit, and the side knobs let you adjust the up/down swing very easily.I also...

Don't Buy This One -- Carson Now Offers a Elevated 5X Version
I've been recommending the Carson PO-25 in my books for several years now. If you're here because of the connection on my Web page that recommended this item, you should know that Carson now offers a greatly improved view, with a 5X magnifier instead of the 3X magnifier in this model, for only a little more. If you want the least expensive and most versatile sensor magnifier for tidiness your digital SLR, buy this PO-55 model instead: . I've purchased a half-dozen of these to supplant my previous PO-25 magnifiers, and recommend the newer model highly.David
    Illusory item!
I've had this component about 2 months now. It's awesome. The oover keeps the lens protected and slides open to rebuff on the light. The light is pretty bright, and I can use it as a bit of an emergency light as well as to read menus and such. I keep it in my pants pocket and it's very handy. I am pleased to no end.
    Commanding magnifier
The Carson MiniBrite Pinch Magnifier is compact, clear and readable. The light is sufficent for reading menus, programs and other items in less than godly light. The magnification is adequate for the purpose. This is not a good device for attempting to read a whole call for at once.

My Favorite Way to Swap Between Glasses
I'm far-sighted with 2 team of prescription glasses. One pair for normal life. One pair for reading and computer. - It's a pain in the butt to always carry both. Even if I do, making a quick switch between glasses is distracting from any task at hand.I Predilection THESE CLIP-ONS. I use them at work, but mostly at home. Often they're in the UP position. I swing the lens down to read cell phone abstract, microwave instructions or quickly look at my computer. Sometimes I wear them when shopping. Clip-ons maybe look slapstick in public, but they let me walk-n-shop with regular vision. If I need to read a food docket or small print, I just swing down the reading lens. Much easier than pocket fumbling for my reading spectacles.NOT SURE "DIOPTER" strength to buy (+1, +1.5, +2 or +3). I used their chart to find the smallest choice of words I could easily read with my prescription reading glasses. Then I switched...

They are not those huge ones, which have to be cut or they will press uncomfortably against the nose.Minus: My optician cut the ones I had before to match up my glasses and to be broader at the nose. To do this she unscrewed the lenses from the frame. These new ones cannot be unscrewed from the compose; they are affixed with a sort of rivet, unfortunately. The old ones had tiny nuts and bolts.
