Allows detailed analysis of hair, stains, footprints, or negligible pictures of dancing men. Very good for examining the details of the human ear, since there is no part of the body which varies so much as the kind ear. Allows artifacts such as a blue carbuncle to be examined in great detail. Can be used as a monocle in an difficulty, but the magnification is not conducive to long-distance vision. Great when trying to read the inner recesses section of the London Times. I bought this because... lets just now say my arms aren't long enough. I never have my reading glasses when I am shopping and I need them and figured that a magnifying glass would vocation but it had to be attachable to a key chain (or I would forget it!). I saw this at a terrace fair in London England. The seller wasn't particularly nice so I pulled up Amazon on my computer and bought it from them. It was at my up on when I returned from vacation. Very cute and sturdy. Works really well.

disconnected upon delivery
Lens ruined along edge upon receipt. It came in an envelope with bubble pack. The package didn't seem damaged, though, so I suspicion it was shipped this way. Still functional, but I don't like paying for damaged goods. It arrived quickly and magnifies well. Aperture for chain in handle has drill burrs, so chain binds up. I know I can send it back, but seems like more sickness than it's worth at the price. Another throw-away.

Awful
I bought this thing to carry on a belt clip, so I could read small serial numbers at my job. I had it for less than a week, and adapted to it two or three times. While crossing a street, I suddenly heard it hit the pavement. The screw that holds the memorandum together and also allows the glass to pivot was gone, and the glass had cracked when it fell. The design of this item is poor, since the destroy is subject to rotation every time the glass is used. They should use a rivet.

The constrain came out in three days.... seemed like a decent little magnifying glass but... currently non-running, needs a more secure screw assembly to be any good.

It works but the increase does get loose
It's a key give someone a jingle with a magnifying glass, what can I say? The key ring holds keys and the magnifying glass magnifies. It works.However, as other reviewers have said, the screw that holds it together does become public loose, so that's why I'm giving it 4* instead of 5*. So far, though, it hasn't fallen apart (that's after about a month in my reticule).If you don't mind a loose screw, consider this a 5* review and buy the keyring.If you're the type of mortal physically who will get enraged by this minor flaw, consider this a 1* review and don't buy this product.

The healthy root trick
Well, it's a usable little gadget, and the LED light is excellent, and the price is great. BUT - I wish this and most of the other loupes on proffer would be honest about the magnification. You'd need at least a low-end microscope, maybe a hand-held, to get 20x or 30x magnification. What this sentiment has, I believe, is 4.47x - square root of 20 - that is, 20x by AREA not by dimension, the paradigm optical definition of magnification.You can easily do a rough check on this: make a short dusky line on paper, about 1/4 inch long: take good note of how it looks: now look through the loupe: alternate honest view and loupe view. I think you'll find the difference appears to be somewhere in the 4 - 5 times territory. Similarly, loupes advertised as 30x are probably 5.57xHence only 3 stars. But I do like it nonetheless!

I bought this and the 10x/20x combo loupe (no edification) from the same manufacturer. The combo loupe is a great value - half the price of this one - but I will probably use this most of the space. The lens is bigger in this one, and the two LED illumination is invaluable. The product is not of the highest quality, but the basic role is perfect and the price can't be beat. If you are looking for something for daily use that will last for years, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a fully going tool that you will use occasionally, I recommend without reservation.

See a whole new the world at large
I use this for checking gold bars ore samples in the field as well as general looking at the microscopic world.The LED light is great but I did have one quandary. I left it on and the next time I tried to use it the light would not work.... dead batteries. Unfortunately the batteries fetch near $5 each times 3= $15.All is not lost however. The Rite Aid (Pharmacy) had hearing aid batteries that, while not the same paradigm as the listed required batteries, were the same physical size but were 1.4 volts instead of 1.5. I did not towards that this would be an issue and decided to try it. They worked just fine and were $16 for 24 of them, so about $.67 each. Much better and I now have 8 changes in suit I forget to turn it off again.The replacement type I found was Size 312, hearing aid batteries.

The Carson MM-200 is a remarkable bit of equipment. The size is just slightly larger than what the photo shows on the product send for. It is TINY!! The product quality, however, is excellent. It has a great LED lamp, and I haven't had it elongated enough to comment on the battery life. It is WAY better than the previous ones I have owned with regular slight bulbs which gives everything an orange hue, or the LED ones which are flimsy as heck.I use it for various things: from checking out insignificant bug-things on plants to fine details on stamps or even just my arm (for a laugh!). It in effect is quite versatile and has great magnification!Now for the bad. It is TINY!!! The knobs are a bit fiddly especially when you're using one hand and need to adjust the focus. The other pocket scopes I have tried as per usual have a larger gripping area and larger dials. Hopefully it will loosen up with some use.Other than its size (which I do very much like for ease of use, but...
lots of fun
i in fact bought this so i can inspect plant resin on my flowers to see when they are ready to harvest. but i find it's so easy to get carried somewhere else with it. wall's, carpet, leaves, pet fur, sugar on the table, bugs, dirt, lol if it was in my house i inspected it. it's lots of fun. i only preference i could see the air on a microscopic level. but we cant have everything. all in all its a great buy.
