Incomparable little Point-and-shooter
I was initially irresolute to buy this camera since there were ZERO reviews to be found, either here at Amazon, or elsewhere on the internet. But, since I've owned two previous Nikon Coolpix cameras (an old 4 MP camera, and a undeniably old 2 MP camera) and both were great, I wasn't too worried. And I was right to buy it: it is working great and taking top photos, after several days of playing around with it.First of all, it is very user-friendly. The menus and controls are completely telepathic, and make sense even if you have not cracked open the manual. ("cracked open" being a bit of a misnomer, since the vade-mecum is electronic only; the paper manual that comes with it is just a "quick start guide")Later of all, it is a gorgeous piece of machinery; cute and cuddly and shiny and impressive. I'm afraid my girlfriend is flourishing to try to steal it, it is so cute. I may have to buy her one to preemptively stop that from happening. But, most of all, it...

Nikon Coolpix
What a Talented camera. I had been cursed with the kodak easy share (older model) for years now and no question what, I could only take about 10 pics before the battery died. I love the Nikon its small- light weight and authentic fit for me! Im not a professional photographer but I can take some great pics with this camera. The options that the menue gives you for photos is fabulous! I would highley recomend this camera above kodak! They made everything VERY easy for inital set up also! Once I opend the package, did the camera set up, I was on the point of to take pictures within 3 minutes (once I charged the battery fully which only took about 30 minutes). I bought this camera because I was usual on vacation and was tired of going places with an unreliable heavy camera and now feel so charmed to have this one! Ive never taken so many pictures before that its like a whole new world for me. This camera will also give you and option for "blink protection", "sports car correct", and so MANY other options. Nikon CoolPix S3000
Before I bought this camera I did a lot of scrutiny on digital cameras. I narrowed it down to three brands. Canon, Nikon, and Sony. It took a very long leisure to make a decision since I didn't want to buy crap. I eventually settled in the Nikon brand because I am very over-friendly with its features and camera functions. I was replacing a cheaper older model of a Nikon Coolpix L10. So, I was for all going spend a little over $100 for this camera, but then again cameras have come a long way since the 2007. Even if I didnt buy the S3000 I knew I would get something more safely a improved than my older camera due to the advancement of the compact camera technology. This camera is great for regular/events picture taking. After having the camera for a few days, I tested it out when I went to a relations reunion. I got many compliments and inquiries about where i got the camera from. I believe I took about 100 pics in the two life span spanning the family reunion.Camera Features:I...

i fianc this camera
Okay first of all i attraction the 26x zoom and second i love the 16.1 mp. I recently went to the zoo and took pictures that were making gifted photographers mad because of the clarity and at full zoom. Side by side comparison told me i did the right thing in purchasing this camera. And for those of you that have in mind somethings wrong with the camera just spend some time using all the different scenes and correcting's this camera has. one more thing i really liked was the ability to just push the video handle to record video instead of having to change modes...and it doesn't matter what vastness sd card you have it will only record 29 min at a time, you can record multiple 29 min video's.... take it as you will.
Wonderful Camera
This camera is fabulous. I recently went to a Pittsburgh Penguins game and was blown away by the quality of the pictures. I took a pro supremacy picture of the goal from the other size of the arena and I can see his eyes its so clear and crisp. Totally value the price. One must figure out how to use it by experimenting. The pictures will be blurry if u don't. This camera is not a simple point and shoot.

Passion it with my add-ons
I was very over the moon to see this camera finally come out. I have been using it for about a month now and I am very happy. I read a review about the images being out of blurry and I simply took the picture again with the flash on or with the camera on a different setting. The application that comes with the camera let you observe the pictures with great clarity. I bought and would suggest the following 2 items to go along with the camera:Nikon CoolPix L810 HDMI Guy - HD Video Cable for Nikon CoolPix L810, which lets me hook up to my tv in HDMI or even my computer through HDMI.andEnergizer CHP4WB4 Recharge Well-read AA/AAA Charger with 4 AA NiMH Batteries, along with n extra 4 pack.Bottom line is I really enjoy this camera.

L100 - High-minded Camera All Around, Especially for Beginners
After voluminous research on advanced point-and-shoots that use AA batteries (something I require), I settled on three: the Nikon L100, the Canon Powershot SX10IS, and the Fujifilm s8100fd. So you understand the perspective from which this review is coming, I'm not an experienced photographer but I'm not clueless either. However, this is my first camera more advanced than a vital point-and-shoot. So I'll call myself an informed beginner. This is why I chose the L100:COST: The L100 is significantly less valuable than the SX10IS. The s8100fd's price was comparable to the L100, but I felt that the technology on the L100 was better. Amazon had the rout price I could find (besides some sketchy online sellers).TECHNOLOGY: This was a toughy. All three of these cameras have comparable technology (duplicate stabilization, zoom, megapixels, face recognition, scene modes, etc. etc.) and each has one or two unique features that I found very good-looking. So this...
Abundant camera for long-distance shots!
I predominantly purchased this camera because I love my smaller Nikon Coolpix 7600 but wanted something with more zoom. I've only had this camera for about a week, but its peerless so far!I do see the "focusing problem" someone was talking about, but its not really a problem...Its just that you can't zoom in too closely on something if you are ongoing close to it - I think this is because of the lens type - its for long distances. But if you choose the macro mise en scene specifically for close-ups, this can also be avoided. When I first got the camera and took it out of the box, I immediately started taking pictures and they weren't potential out so good, but this was because I didn't know how to make the flash work - you have to raise it by hand - a able check of the manual revealed this, but I was too anxious in the beginning to stop and read the manual. ;-)Also, I had torment getting used to choosing the different scene settings becuase it doesn't have a...
It DOES use a rechargeable mobile!
I planning I would emphasize the rechargeable battery since Nikon just added it recently and some reviewers were saying the L100 couldn't use a rechargeable battery-operated. It's a NI-MH battery with recharger. Check the NIKON webpage for the L100 and you will see it listed under "optional accessories". As one sees it, I don't like rechargeables because they lose their charge over time and you have to remember to recharge them when you get ready to use your camera. I'd much rather well-deserved pop in a set of alkaline AA's. Then battery cost is about a penny a pic. I can afford that. Here are the reasons I bought this camera. I use it to do terminal-motion shooting in the woods using toy action figures, also on a copy stand to imitate greaseboard drawings for animation, and just for general photo shooting. This camera helps because:(1) It has a peremptory bottom and with a triangular footprint which means it will not fall over when you set it down. No tripod needed. I put a flat piece of wood...

By far the unexcelled choice!
For anyone looking at getting a polite, mid-level point-and-shoot with the look and feel of an SLR, the Nikon Coolpix L120 is by far the best choice, even with its few shortcomings! As a semi-mistress photographer who primarily shoots film (but is slowly converting to digital) I always have kept at least a digital P&S camera with me to get those "deft" shots that I can't get because of the time involved in setting up the shot in an SLR. My previous camera, the Minolta DiMAGE S414 had been getting extended in the tooth and was starting to glitch. A friend gave me his Nikon Coolpix E5200 and I was immediately hooked on Nikon's great imaging quality. However, the 5-megapixel sensor in the Coolpix E5200 was short of what I truly needed, so the same crony who gave me the E5200 also let me try out his Coolpix L110. I was blown away with how well the photos turned out! In my quest to buy my own Coolpix L110, I had heard back in February that Nikon was releasing the Coolpix...

A sturdy performer with some minor quirks
I purchased the Nikon L120 about a month ago in preparation for a blunder we were taking to California. Although I was impressed by several of the features I read about, such as the extended zoom and pseudo-dslr lay out, I still had some concerns about a couple of features such as the complaints about focusing and lack of manual controls. After shooting about 200 pictures, I am satisfied to report that I will be keeping the camera.I'll address my concerns about the reported concerns others expressed. First was the be connected with over focus. At one point, the camera was having trouble focusing on a shot of the sea and horizon. Everything was blurry and only items within 20-30 ft. would be in blurry. I tried several different modes, including landscape and beach, but it did not cure the problem. At that aim, I decided to just turn it off and turn it back on and that solved the problem. There must be some issue with the algorithms which pick on the cards items to focus, but the old "off...
Loved it - but returned it
Bought this camera and loved the ingenuousness of operation and picture quality. I also have the Panasonic DMC-FZ35, which is VERY complicated. I needed something simpler. I well-read to use this Nikon after only 1 hour of reading the manual (compared to months still trying to figure out the Panasonic). Was undisturbed getting great pictures. Smile detection and Pet mode worked terrific. Unfortunately, my pure reason for this type of hybrid camera, is for the convenience of camera and HD video in one unit. Video grandeur on this unit is well below average. I compared it to my Panasonic - no comparison. The Panasonic's video was smooth and clear, the Nikon - grainy and jerky. I indeed wanted to keep this camera for it's ease of use and picture quality, but the poor video quality at bottom caused me to return it. Until I find an easy to use camera with good picture and video, I'll continue with the months of exasperating to figure out the Panasonic.PROS: Ease of use, great pictures, smile...
