Those, this purchase came after 3 solid days of research using everything from Amazon, CNet, Infosyncworld, to YouTube. You are here, reading reviews, as I was at the birth of my search for a great quality digital camera that was neither high-end nor cheap. Terrific Camera
Now I'm no proficient photographer, but I am picky about how my pictures look. I have a good eye, and can be very anal about details in my photos. I've seen this camera get some bad reviews lately, and I am surely perplexed by this. I looked at lots of other cameras. some costing more and some less. This was by far the best point and shoot pit-able mega zoom out there, I thought. I read some negative reviews about sluggish focus and dim images from here and from Best Buy's web site. The S9100 is the accomplished size and feel for a pocket camera. It looks to be all plastic, but the type of plastic and the trait of the build makes it look and feel like the best small cameras made these time. Startup time is about one second, and going from minimum zoom to maximum zoom takes about two seconds. Spitting image quality is very good for a camera with a 1/2.33-type sensor, but certain very fine workings like hair, or a bird's feathers in a low-contrast part of the bird's body may be smeared measure. This is apparently caused by the noise reduction software in the camera, which can't be turned down or off. On the other hand, my Canon SX-210 (which I replaced with the S9100) does not abate noise much if at all, and the end result is a compromise between the two systems. I think the Nikon S9100 wins in that compromise though, since the images on typical look better than the SX-210's. Grand camera - so I thought
I needed a morality camera and didn't want to spend a lot of coin. I picked this one b/c it had the lithium-ion rechargeable battery-operated and was 10 megapixel. Exceptional value for a good camera.
My Nikon S220 is a admissible camera. It is not, the $7000 digital Professional SLR.It is simply a very easy to use, very resaonably priced, tip & shoot camera. I feel that I received exactly the camera I needed for my application at the outlay I was willing to pay. I particularly like the simple controls.Overall - I considered physical greatness, megapixel rating, functionality, ease of use, and quality of images obtained - and then gave it a 5 Big shot rating.

Insolvent quality
I have had this camera a but over a year and have not been impressed with the picture quality. For the price, however, it was tolerable. Now the lens cover is stuck (the abominable "lens error"). No luck trying to fix it myself and it will cost more for someone to fix it than it is worth. These cameras tend to have this lens problem. Customer beware.

Keen Package... Junky Pictures
I bought this camera after losing my Canon SD900 while on vaction at Disney On cloud nine in early December 2008. As with everything I review, I use an item for several months to truly evaluate how fitting it is after the "new" purchase feeling has died down and I want to evaluate performance and not emotions for my new toy.This camera is uncontrived to review. It is very well made. It is a good looking camera. You expect big things. But...What you get it is horrible images. I against it all through the Christmas and New Year holidays (2008) and was disappointed in its pictures. If this is your first camera in this arena you might not be expert to tell and think the images look fine, maybe even great. However, owning several huge end DSLR's, and having used several "point and shoots" as quick grab backups, I can say the images aren't fair. They are grainy. Pleasingly features, mediocre picture quality
I bought this as a hand-out for my wife to supplement a 4-year-old, bulky Canon A95 digital camera. First pictures looked okay but seemed to be missing some comprehensibility. All photos were shot in Auto mode and were taken indoors. To rate the photo distinction, I took photos of the same object with the Nikon and with the old Canon. I imported the photos onto my laptop and split the separate with the two adjacent images. I shot the photos in Auto with no zoom. The results were stunning. The Nikon photo were fair-haired but not crisp. On the other hand, the Canon photo was extremely clean and detailed. We are returning the Nikon and buying another Canon.

Benevolent, easy to use!!
I bought this camera for my Mom as a birthday flair as she wanted something really simple. It's convenient to carry in your purse or pocket and comes with a 5x optical zoom. We have tried clicking classify photographs over Christmas as well as shooting videos. Everything came out really well. Got no complaints whatsoever! This copy however, doesn't come with an SD card, so buyers will have to buy that seperately.

Appraise Doesn't Matter - Impressive!
I own a Nikon D70, so I'm a negligible jaded when it comes to image quality. This little thing with a slim profile and a big decamp lcd screen feels well-made in the hands. It is point and shoot picture taking at its best.I bought this for my partner who isn't a natural photographer. He needed something that would fit in his chest pocket of his uniform on overseas deployments. The Nikon Coolpix S600 is about the judge of a razor cellphone, but just slightly thicker. The buttons seem natural in their places and the features aren't unusable tacked on extras like in some cameras. Pretty much anyone can take good pictures with this camera (when the instructions is read).D-lighting in combination with the high ISO function makes pictures that aren't washed out with sprint. The background and the foreground are more even toned and subjects don't look like ghosts. The VR (vibration reduction) lens accounts for camera threaten get rid of and more pictures are likely to come out clearer...
Very satisfactory little point and shoot
This is a very ladylike little point and shoot. I had purchased it for a friend to be able to use to just take snapshots, and during a slight vacation getaway found that the image quality was just about as good as my more expensive compact digital camera -- unhurried to use, fast start-up, and lots of scene modes.Note that the out-of-the-box configuration is not all that great for performance shots -- make sure you familiarize yourself with the scene modes already set up by Nikon -- you'll find a gigantic difference right away!!The menus are a bit difficult to navigate for newcomers: I had to do some setup for my friend -- but it's a breeze for those who are familiar with the Nikon systems.This really is a great little camera that gives surprisingly wonderful shots -- it's despotic to classify it as a snapshot digital camera with such high IQ.Get an extra battery if you don't want to recharge every twilight -- battery drain is a bit worse than some other cameras...

I bought this camera for an abroad trip last month. I didn't want to carry my large Nikon DSLR this time, but I didn't desire the too much compromise of a standard point and shoot either, like my old and faithful Canon SD600.I'm still surprised by the marvellous quality of the images and the versatility it provides.The key points for me:- Wide angle, 28 mm a kind (18mm in a digital SLR). Very important to get more in the picture. There are no many compact cameras with this.- High ISO and the Auto-ISO countenance. I took impressive photos indoors, like cafes and restaurants that look famous.- VR. Vibration reduction. Probably the single most important reason for those blur-free pictures I got I suppose. It just works.- Uses High capacity/speed memory cards. Bar Photos from this little point and shoot!
I've had a Nikon S510 a while back which I loved, and the Nikon S570 is even mastery. I like vivid colors, and when set to "vivid", the Nikon S570 produces photos with beautiful striking colors and excellent contrast. The wide angle lens has great edge to edge sharpness. The Nikon S570 performs well, perhaps not the fastest (shutter lag and start-up time), but good nonetheless. The only thing that it's really past it in is the wait time between shots, which seems to be an eternity. I've missed a few shots waiting for the camera to be enthusiastic for the next shot. Otherwise, I really love this camera. It's small and light enough to fit in you pocket, and it takes outstanding pictures. And for it's price, it's definitely a great buy.
Coolpix S570 Lofty Value for everyday use
There are many enthusiastic cameras in this category to select from, and all have Pro's and Con's that ultimately are reported in these user reviews. These are personal idea's, and mostely not scientific. This review for the Nikon S570 tells you why I chose this camera over the others.Since I was looking for a camera that was carriable and easy to use I chose to look at these "pocket" style cameras. I've owned Canon, Olympus, Kodak and Nikon. I've found that what I chew over important is the ability to get to the picture taking mode quickly. The next most important feature I look for is a menu system that is telepathic so that I can figure out how to do the things I want to do on a routine basis, like transfer pictures, rub those I don't want and perform a little in-camera editing. Lastly, I look for a camera that has some instinctive modes that make sense on daily use type cameras, like night state, portraits and landscape modes.For the price I got this camera...
Very "Phlegmatic" little camera !!
I made this buying for my wife for christmas .Although I bought this some time ago she just opened it for Christmas and she LOVES it!very undemanding to use and the quality is great..very light very easy no problems what so ever .Her hobby is photography so she finds it very amenable to use and she knows her numbers and what to set it on so it is one nice little camera for when she dont want to lug around her bigger one. we have look over reviews for this camera and we do not find anything wrong with it ..some say it is slow between shots .. My wife does not at all find this camera monotonous between shots..no way Some also say its blurry when you playback the photos.. Ours is not blurry at all and I played my photos back on my 32 inch HD TV..they encounter out clear as a bell. But some people DO have that problem..here is a solution that my wife says to do....DO NOT in any way Exchange your photos from the camera..this could damage the memory chip...

Tremendous to Carry Around
I justifiable bought this camera two days ago from a camera store (yes, of course it's cheaper here). I have four other cameras, two obscure (Nikons) and two digital (one Nikon and one Olympus), but I wanted something that I could fit in my purse or backpack. Many times I want to take pictures, but am too inactive to carry my camera gear unless I'm planning a photo outing. This camera letter for letter fits into my jeans pocket so I will be able to carry it every day.So far I find the camera's menu systems are almost identical to the menu on my other Nikon cameras (N80, D70). This makes the learning curve easier. When you addle the camera off, the lens collapses into the body of the camera, and there is a lens cover that closes over the lens to protect it. Polite point and shoot for price, but has drawbacks
This is the first previously that I bought something new on the market. Typically, I buy something after it has been reviewed for at least 6 months, but I had to replace the "family point and branch" before Easter. Lens errors are moderately common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been stopped preventing its extension.
