Smashing Photos from this little point and shoot!
I've had a Nikon S510 a while back which I loved, and the Nikon S570 is even more intelligent. I like vivid colors, and when set to "vivid", the Nikon S570 produces photos with beautiful true to life colors and excellent contrast. The wide angle lens has great edge to harshness sharpness. The Nikon S570 performs well, probably not the fastest (shutter lag and start-up time), but propitious nonetheless. The only thing that it's really slow in is the wait time between shots, which seems to be an eternity. I've missed a few shots waiting for the camera to be skilful for the next shot. Otherwise, I really love this camera. It's small and light enough to fit in you pocket, and it takes critical pictures. And for it's price, it's definitely a great buy.

There are many healthy cameras in this category to select from, and all have Pro's and Con's that ultimately are reported in these user reviews. These are personal theory's, and mostely not scientific. This review for the Nikon S570 tells you why I chose this camera over the others.Since I was looking for a camera that was pocket-sized and easy to use I chose to look at these "pocket" style cameras. I've owned Canon, Olympus, Kodak and Nikon. I've found that what I observe important is the ability to get to the picture taking mode quickly. The next most important feature I look for is a menu system that is telepathic so that I can figure out how to do the things I want to do on a routine basis, like transfer pictures, expunge those I don't want and perform a little in-camera editing. Lastly, I look for a camera that has some unconscious modes that make sense on daily use type cameras, like night approach, portraits and landscape modes.For the price I got this camera...
Very "Uninvolved" little camera !!
I made this buy for my wife for christmas .Although I bought this some time ago she just opened it for Christmas and she LOVES it!very suggestible to use and the quality is great..very light very easy no problems what so ever .Her hobby is photography so she finds it very down-to-earth to use and she knows her numbers and what to set it on so it is one nice little camera for when she dont want to lug around her bigger one. we have presume from reviews for this camera and we do not find anything wrong with it ..some say it is slow between shots .. My wife does not at all find this camera lagging between shots..no way Some also say its blurry when you playback the photos.. Ours is not blurry at all and I played my photos back on my 32 inch HD TV..they do out clear as a bell. But some people DO have that problem..here is a solution that my wife says to do....DO NOT in any way Interchange your photos from the camera..this could damage the memory chip...

The narrative on this item failed to mention that the power cord is included with the charger. Therefore, I purchased a disassemble cord. I thought it was weird that the two items needed to be bought separately. A better written history would be nice for future buyers. Otherwise, we are happy with this purchase. Losing the battery charger time before a big Alaska vacation (the house has eaten it and now that we've bought a new charger we are expecting the house to image it out at any moment) is not good!

I was looking for what seems like an boundlessness for my Battery Charger. Finally, I came to the inevitable conclusion that it was gone forever and I would never see it again. So I came on Amazon and ordered a replacement. Now I can use my camera again in preference to of my phone camera. Charger works perfectly. Fin.

Nikon Dignity In a Small Package
I have been a dedicated Nikon 35mm fan for years, but this is my first Nikon digital camera. I did meditate on very long between the SLR series and the Coolpix line, but in the end, the compact design and the lighter weight of the Coolpix nudged me in that directing. So far, I am not disappointed.The menu structure is different from the Olympus menu system I had become used to, but a short meeting with the Nikon owner's manual quickly showed me how to access all the functions. Perhaps it is because I had used another band of digital camera for the last few years, I did not from day one find the Nikon menu quite as intuitive. I had no trouble changing over however, after less than an hour or so.The Coolpix is clearly designed as a headland and shoot digital camera. Tested for 3 weeks in Europe ...
I purchased a Nikon Coolpix S630 straight before I went to Europe five weeks ago. After 1000 pictures of mountain tops, people, incomprehensible museums and action shots, I am done testing it and am very pleased. For years I wanted a hassle-loose camera with a high amount of optical zoom yet small in size and shoots well without a lot of light. I hoped to pass less money but was afraid a cheaper camera would frustrate me due to lack of features, poor blue blood or confusing operation. The S630 gives me all I want in a camera for a reasonable price.My cousin was a experienced photographer and he is impressed with how well this camera performs. Closeups of flowers are great. Pictures displayed on a 42" TV have talented resolution and color accuracy. Photos of poorly lit rooms have bright colors. I was in reckless need of a new digital camera! I have an OLD version of Nikon coolpix 4800 but I love the 8x optical zoom. My friends all made fun of the superhuman size of it! After I saw the S630 coolpix advertised I really wanted to try it out. I went to the store and played around with it then purchased it through Amazon and got a intimate deal! I am VERY pleased with this camera! I took it to the Lake with me and played around with it and got some good shots! I was even expert to record video of my friends innertubing at full zoom and the clarity is great! I have the settings on car mode and the camera does a great job! All I can say is some of these negative reviews must be due to user error or they are maven photographers expecting TOO much! If you are interested in this camera, I must say I am VERY happy with my purchase. If I could figure it out, I'd share some of the grand pics and videos I took! Good luck with your purchase!

Specifically what I was hoping for
I recently sold my Nikon Coolpix 8700, and was looking for a new camera that gave me represent quality equal to or better, and was a much smaller camera. I like taking pictures, but I'm not a photo guy. I coarsely want to aim, press the button and let the magic happen. Taking a chance I decided to try this camera, and I wasn't foiled.It's got a lot of options to go beyond just auto mode if I want to dive into that. My main thing was the embodiment quality though and the quality of photos is excellent. My wife has a Canon A700 that takes polite pictures so we did a comparison just using the auto settings. A picture of our dog in the house with all the lights off in one range, a picture with one light on, and a picture with all the lights on. I figure if the low light pictures are good, then I'll be winsome happy with the daytime pictures.While both cameras did a good job, our preference was the Nikon's photos. The colors were quicker to what we expected...

I recently got this wonderful camera for Christmas. Its superlative, just what I wanted. Its small, goodlooking. It takes great pictures. It has endless options for any typewrite of picture taker.I love the automatic scene selection. The camera decides by itself the fully realized setting for the perfect picture id say about 90% of the time it makes the right choice. It is thinkable to confuse it if the picture has a lot of different things going on.For instance if you are outside it will automatically birch to the outside setting and if u go inside it will automatically change to the inside setting without you having to do a fad.One time when i was in the bar it got it wrong though. It changed it to night time setting automatically instead of reception setting so it was a little blurry. No prob though, i deleted that picture and set it on what i wanted. outstanding camera, poor service
I have had this camera for approx. 4 months. I am so ecstatic with it in every way but one. After about a month, the camera read "lens error" and would freeze open. I assumed this was an monastic incident, but it is now happening with more frequency. I contacted nikon, who told me that this is not a warranty issue. I have searched the internet and have found that this is a surprisingly standard issue. I really would have expected a company like nikon to stand behind their products. I would be very leary to buy another one based on this, which is categorically sad, as I do love the quality and features of this camera!

is there a way to diminish the blur on non-flash of this camera? i have the users manual but cant find a way to do it. the pictures come out a little sleepy and i want to fix the settings, if possible.

I have this camera and it has an in fix red eye....it fixes red eye unconsciously. Does anyone know how to turn this option off? I don't want it to automatically fix the red eye but the manual does not say how to extinguish b disillusion it off :/
