Nikon Coolpix L18 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Ruby Red)
Details
DescriptionNikon coolpix L18 Ruby red figureCustomer ReviewsAdept camera for the price! My missus and I just recently replaced our Sony DSC-W5 (5 megapixel) camera with this one, and here are our impressions so far:1) The Anti-Twitch AE is something new for us, as the DSC-W5 didn't have it. Actually, we would get blurry pictures all the time in low-light situations with the DSC-W5 (which did not have Anti-Discourage AE), and the new Nikon L18 does not seem to have as much trouble as the old camera did. Low light pictures seem to come out great.2) This camera removed red-eye in the camera Impulsively. You don't know how much of a time saver this is! My old DSC-W5 took crappy pictures when we turned on the red-eye protection, and the L18's pictures are MUCH more wisely with the anti red-eye.3) This camera does a better job of focusing on people than my old DSC-W5 did. It was pretty redoubtable to see multiple focal points on the easy-shoot mode. The focus was spot-on.4) The colors are animated and vibrant. Much more so than my old DSC-W5.5) The... Assurance terror I have enjoyed my Coolpix L18! It's a enormous camera! I purchased it after purchasing the L14 as a gift for a family member and hearing the continuous 'bubbling' reviews about it. The L18 is leisurely to use and also download your photos! Although I have had no problems with my L18, I have a word of CAUTION concerning Nikon- should you have any problems originate with their product, return it immediately!!! The Coolpix L14 Gift had an 'error' within the first 3 months. Following the troubleshooting directions, it appeared to usual itself. Unfortunately, 5 months later the identical problem occurred again. This time I retrieved the alms and returned it for repair under its one year warranty. Nikon has failed to honor their warranty. We were, however, able to reach their covenant to pay half of the original quoted repair cost. Had it not been a gift that has been thoroughly enjoyed, I would not have understood in to the blackmail. Although the cameras are wonderful, the warranty is 'just... Enormous camera... until! This was a marked camera, but unfortunately the key word is "WAS". I purchased the camera for general shooting, nothing suppose, and it worked great. I replaced my Fujifilm FinePix with this Nikon Coolpix. I enjoy the thinner design, making it easier to keep in a bantam purse. The red shell adds nothing to the photos, but I'll take that over a dull gray any day. Aside from aesthetics, there are many features wall-to-wall into this stylish hardware, probably more than I've fully utilized. As with any digital camera, the most important take is point and shoot picture taking. I hate the cameras that have 17+ picture modes and the rotating "opportunity wheel" on top. 99 times out of 100 I am just turning the camera on and snapping a spot... I don't need to change any shutter settings. This Nikon has a handy toggle on top that allows for envisage taking, picture viewing, or video taking. Fujifilm FinePix 2600 2MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom
Details
DescriptionThe FinePix 2600 reaffirms Fuji's standing for producing high-quality, affordable digital point-and-shoot cameras. Like its predecessors, the 2600 is consolidated, lightweight, fast, and fun to use.The 2600 is competing in one of the most crowded segments in the digital camera peddle. Virtually every manufacturer is now (as of November 2001) producing a 2-megapixel point-and-shoot with a 3x optical zoom lens, and it's no shock: these cameras closely resemble their film counterparts in size, shape, and function, and the 1,600 by 1,200 images they collar contain enough detail for 8-by-10-inch prints, more or less matching the quality of most film point-and-toss cameras. With so many models to choose from, why pick the 2600? For one thing, Fuji was unusually full with the accessories. The camera comes with a 16 MB memory card (big enough for 39 pictures at defect resolution), plus a set of rechargeable batteries and a charger. In addition, this camera is quicker than most of its competitors. When you offer it on, it's ready to use very quickly, and shutter lag and shot-to-shot performance are also surprising for a camera in its group. Battery life is also good, especially for a camera that uses only two AA batteries. Of course, not everything about the 2600 is immaculate. Its body is made of plastic, and some of the buttons don't feel quite as durable as those on other cameras, though we had no problems with reliability during testing. The sliding clamshell lens covering is a nice touch, but, unlike other cameras, sliding the cover open and closed does not be subject to c excite the camera on and off--there's a power switch on top for this purpose. As a result, we sometimes found ourselves closing the lens cover and forgetting to fabricate the camera off. In addition, the camera offers relatively few manual controls: white rest is adjustable, as is exposure compensation, and the flash has five modes, but shutter speed and aperture are both set unconsciously. The camera also includes a 20-second movie mode, but the movies lack audio. If you're the category of photographer who simply likes to turn the camera on, aim, zoom, and shoot, you'll be thrilled with the decipherability of the design, but if you want more control, this probably isn't the best choice for you. The FinePix 2600 Zoom is a grand value, especially for photographers who love point-and-shoot simplicity. It's affordably priced, elemental, and fun to use, includes rechargeable batteries and a charger, and produces crisp images. --Shane Burnett Pros:

Customer ReviewsNo Eyewash Digital CameraBefore purchasing the Fuji 2600, I wise a number of other digital cameras, some costing much more. Although many of them had more features, none were as reliable. I finally gave up on the expesive cameras since the adventitious features (that require the use of the LCD display) are worthless in sunlight anyway. This is a gadget free camera that takes first-class pictures. I've never missed a shot even when the subjects are in motion. The fast auto-focus and shortage of gadgets makes this camera seemingly foolproof.Sharp, bright and true redden (No sign of color aberations, blooming or color saturation) - Quiet hasty zoom lense - Downloading pictures is simple and fast - Batteries last longer than any other digital I tried - Camera comes as a over package (includes rechargeable batteries, compact charger and a reasonable size respect card) - Camera is small & easy to carry (the future of digital cameras) - The F3.8 lens is a bit lackadaisical for low light conditions but adequate for most... You will fondness it ! This is a very sound camera for its price range and features including true 3X optical zoom lens which retracts very swiftly when you shut the camera off. The two step camera shut off (which amazom review sees as a feckless point) is actually very useful for viewing pics and keeps the lens shut. So you can see pics in bad endure without worring about your lens. The digital zoom doesn't work with the 2 megapixel resolution, it only works with 1 megapixel or VGA rage. However the digital zoom could be done later on the computer also, so no big problems. The battery charger included is supposed to recharge a fully discharged mobile in 5 hrs. The manual refer to any fuji charger for times under 2 hrs.The kit includes excellent accessories: 2 AA 1700mAh NiMH rechargable batteries, recharger (works from 110-240 V), 16MB smartmedia file card with cover/label, a hand strap (handy when shooting or otherwise, increases the grip), a USB hawser for getting pics on your PC, a CD with software... A very powerful camera at a great price This camera is actually an incredible deal. It has more features for the money that any other camera in its range. Other cameras that are similarly priced want the 2-megapixel sensor or optical zoom, but the FinePix 2600 has both. It takes very nice pictures and is very gentle to use. It comes with a 16MB card that provides more than enough initial storage, and new cards can be purchased up to 128MB. But even the touchstone card holds a lot - 60 at the default setting, 10 at the highest setting. The optical zoom is a horrific feature to have, and the movie mode is also very useful. Despite what some specs may read, it has both a macro look and a self-timer. Overall, this is the best camera to buy in its range, that is, more than a toy but not high-end. It is more than adequate for the unsystematic or amateur photographer. It should serve all your photography needs for quite some time. |
