    Superior Camera for the Investment
Those, this purchase came after 3 solid days of research using everything from Amazon, CNet, Infosyncworld, to YouTube. You are here, reading reviews, as I was at the origination of my search for a great quality digital camera that was neither high-end nor cheap. Let me begin by saying that I simply purchased this camera and have not gone over extensive testing myself, but rest assured that you should NOT take Amazon.com reviews for digital cameras (and a lot of other things for that thing) as the gospel. Why? Because too many people come on here, bashing good equipment when the vast majority of the beat it is user error. Please, do yourself a favor and do research using professional analysis by people that investigation these things out and that take pictures and video that you can see for YOURSELF.I ignored all of the reviews that didn't specifically point towards any kidney of systematic malfunction and that solely complained about image quality or other things that are easily...
    Peerless Camera
Now I'm no dab hand photographer, but I am picky about how my pictures look. I have a good eye, and can be very anal about details in my photos. I've seen this camera get some bad reviews lately, and I am at bottom perplexed by this. I looked at lots of other cameras. some costing more and some less. This was by far the best point and shoot island-able mega zoom out there, I thought. I read some negative reviews about sluggish sharply defined unclear and blurred images from here and from Best Buy's web site. I don't know if a bad batch of cameras went out? I did have some concentrate issues right out of the box when I started using the camera; but after inspecting the camera I noticed a hairy big greasy finger print right on the lens. I'm pretty sure it wasn't from me, but I wouldn't bet my memoirs on it though. After cleaning the lens, I have had no focus issues. The only thing I can say about the focus is that when indoors, sometimes you need to take a footstep back and use more zoom to get focus lock, and...
    Nikon S9100 450mm zoom camera 12mp
The S9100 is the blameless size and feel for a pocket camera. It looks to be all plastic, but the type of plastic and the eminence of the build makes it look and feel like the best small cameras made these era. Startup time is about one second, and going from minimum zoom to maximum zoom takes about two seconds. Ikon quality is very good for a camera with a 1/2.33-type sensor, but certain very fine particulars like hair, or a bird's feathers in a low-contrast part of the bird's body may be smeared less. This is apparently caused by the noise reduction software in the camera, which can't be turned down or off. On the other hand, my Canon SX-210 (which I replaced with the S9100) does not bring down noise much if at all, and the end result is a compromise between the two systems. I think the Nikon S9100 wins in that compromise though, since the images on ordinarily look better than the SX-210's. Pocket cameras that have much larger sensors (and consequently much less zoom) can often...

Grand camera that does really take better than average pictures!
I am and always have been skeptical of buying digital cameras. This is the cheapest entrance and also one of the newest from Nikon that has a CMOS sensor rather than a CCD sensor. Let the argument go on who is better. When the lighting is sun light, the Nikon shines and creates wonderful photos. Low well-lighted, of course, is a typical offender of ruining a good picture. If the flash is used, most of the ease it does a good job to make everything look natural and not "over-toned" in anyway or display odd contrast properties.I intend this is a great product and really sells itself when you view the information offered on Nikons web situate.

This camera is wonderful. It is unpretentious to use, takes great pictures and is very compact. The zoom lense is easy to use and close up pictures are very run off. When the pictures are printed they are sharp and crisp. I would buy this camera again!

Wonderful note. Worth the wait (pre-release purchase) and so worth the money! The size and shape scram it easy to hold, and it has many features that I am still learning how to use.

Nikon Guy finds S9300 unexceptional and over priced
I'm stable I either have a bad copy...or some of the reviewing users here haven't put it through it's paces. My problems:1. S9300 will not engage focus when zoomed at or near it's maximum.2. Selecting one of the Auto ISO ranges...125-800 ISO causes the camera to restricted very low shutter speeds, so that even with vibration reduction, if you are shooting people, the imgages are soft...appearing OOF...out of fuzzy. (Unacceptable for this price range.)3. The facial recognition feature, if used on anything but faces...will most often restrictive something other than what you want to focus on...and since this is a menu driven feature, if you're switching between sceens, like at a birthday reception, it's a pain to use.4. Generally speaking, the images leave a lot to be desired across the board. And, this is the ill-defined consensus of online reviews...rating the camera a "C" as very average. I have to agree.5. Thumbnail sketch mode is way too cool...and there is no...
Worth camera, could use some updates.
Bought this camera since i confused my canon powershot sd900. I only buy canon products but since nikon has been advertising the heck out of their products i meditating i give it a chance. Overall this camera takes awesome photos. The in camera features are monstrous as well. My only problem is that in order to review your photos you have to turn on the camera you just can't press the analysis button. When you do take a photo it takes forever for the preview to disappear. You can either have it on or off. With canon it gave you the opportunity of 1,2 or 3 second preview. The last thing is that the flash is in an awkward place but as i was looking at the canon website every actors is going to that format. I would recommend this camera to someone though.Rcubed.
    Influential Camera Nikon!!
I've had this camera for a week now and I devotion it. I really went back and forth between this one and the P510. I chose this one for my upcoming trip to Europe due to the bigness. My husband wanted to fit it in his pocket. It is a great camera. I'm so glad I chose this one. It has terrific features (that I'm still lore) for great photos. The zoom is pretty impressive (obviously not as impressive as the P510). I guestimate the true test will be my trip.
