Pentax SMC DA* 60-250mm f/4 ED IF SDM Telephoto Zoom Lens w/ Case for Pentax Digital SLR Cameras
DescriptionThis 4.2x zoom is something that no exacting photographer should miss. With a universal focal length range of approx. 90 - 380mm (35mm style) and a constant f/4.0 aperture the smc PENTAX DA 60 - 250mm is truly outstanding in a range of applications, such as portraiture, lark or landscape photography. Other high-end details like seals against dust and humidity and inner focusing underline the suitability for defiant outdoor use. A speedy and silent Ultrasonic Motor easily handles the focusing demands. This new lens is also on the same wave length with cameras without SDM technology.Customer ReviewsSo tangy you can shave with it.Pros:Bitter throughout the zoom range, even wide open it is great, by 5.6 it is simply astonishingVersatile spread (90-375mm Full frame equivalent, fairly close to 100-400mm)Relatively CompactFull bear up against sealingTripod mount with removable footCons:No zoom lock, could creep. Some softness on one side of construction at 200-250mm and f/4 (rarely visible above f/4.5)Tripod mount with removable footVerdict:Far-out lens worth the asking price. Image quality and bokeh is in league with most primes of like range and aperture. Who should buy this lens? Anyone who needs an extra sharp, sports, wildlife, or comprehensive purpose lens with f/4 at the long end.Review:The lens is superb. SDM focus is silent and seems safe with my K-7. It goes to its target and stops. It is not extremely fast, but not slow either. It seems to work well enough for some nature in flight tracking and other continuous focus... Horrific lens I owned one of these for about 14 months. It became my dominant day to day lens. It takes incredibly sharp, high quality images throughout the zoom pigeon-hole, sweet f-stop is about 4.5 or 5.6.Our image standards are rather unforgiving: there is a 44" off the mark photo printer downstairs. Not every image can provide the data needed to hit 44" extreme, but that is the target. My/our lesser zooms seldom make the grade. This lens does so, regularly. This lens allows you to 'sample' frames out of a aspect, and produces zoomed in shots with breathtaking clarity and image quality. My other, lesser telephotos have a few settings that produce images with the grandeur obtained with a short lens, but by and large, you can immediately tell that the frame was shot with a great lens, zoomed in. In other words, a whole lot of files that never get sent to processing and printing. Not so with this puppy. Vulgarly, if you are getting less than great clarity with this mounted on the... Best hunger tele zoom for Pentax DSRL Pros: Sly from wide open, great color rendering, excellent construction, weather sealedCons: Abundant (as any good quality lens of this range), expensive, no focus limiterThis is an excellent lens for Pentax DSRL cameras. I have nothing but enthusiastic to say about it after one month of use with K-7.Though it has no zoom locking, the barrel shows no creeping. The tripod mount is uncomplicated to take out when not needed and collar has 90 degree locking points that you feel very clearly when turning the revere. Zoom ring does feel a bit sticky if you try to zoom out holding the lens up, but that's due to the millstone of the barrel and glass. If you point it down the ring movement becomes soft. The only little thing I can find is a paltry wobble of the barrel when zoomed fully out, but it seems to have no effect on the image quality. The lack of centre limiter can cause slow focusing as the mechanism needs to make full travel if you do not pre-meet...
KINAMAX BTR-ENEL11-J 1000mAh EN-EL11 / D-LI78 / DB-80 Replacement Battery for Nikon Coolpix S550 / S560, Olympus FE-370, Pentax Optio M50 / V20 / W60
Details
DescriptionCustomer ReviewsPassable battery for the priceI purchased this mobile as a backup second battery for my Pentax Optio W80. It works just as well and holds a tax just as long as the brand name Pentax Optio battery that came with my camera....and at about half the cost of the separately purchased Pentax battery. Good deal! A Cutthroat BATTERY! WOW! And still another regard for a battery. Good price, quick shipping, takes recharge in reasonable previously and holds it well over a period of non-use. It does what it's supposed to do. It does what every battery should do!! works well Works well as gaunt for my pentax w60. Feels and looks well constructed, same as the original battery. I charge it using the model pentax charger. Worktime of the battery is not much better than the original pentax, even though stated capacity is bigger. Worked Ok during a day in subfreezing temps.
Pentax K-5 16.3 MP Digital SLR with 3-Inch LCD (Black Body Only)
Details
DescriptionGo in the lead and feed your photography obsession with the PENTAX K-5. For you, capturing that great shot isn't a casual interest. It's a part of your subsistence. One spectacular image after another. This camera is the perfect piece of equipment to help you get your photo fix. With the concentrated, rugged K-5, the world is truly your studio.Customer ReviewsFor good! When the Kx at home, K7 owners who were more than content with their current bodies coveted the superior high-ISO (low light exhibition) capability of the Kx. At least I did. And while the K7 was a capable tool, I often found myself compensating for its weaknesses (which were limited to high ISO and autofocus persistent (AF.C) performance). Not so with the K5.I won't go into the specifications since those can be found elsewhere but I'll give my overall impression - what I like and what could be better:+ Great ergonomics. Lover the compact, solid body which is identical to the K7 save for a heightened knob and elongated AF lever. I was even talented to use the same split prism focus screen I had purchased for the K7.+ Fantastic high-ISO display - clean and offering far more flexibility than the K7. I'd try never to breach ISO 800 on the K7 whereas the K5 is routinely pushed lifetime ISO 3200. While I wouldn't give it equal footing to a full frame camera, it's... K-5 Marred but Fabulous I've bullet with the K-5 for a month now, and I'd like to share my viewpoints on it. First, the noise level in the high-ISO images in the final analysis is as excellent as the technical reviews say it is. This means that you can use a higher ISO number and get results equivalent to other cameras at trim ISO numbers. You can take your shot with either a faster shutter time (better motion freezing) or smaller gap (better sharpness, etc) or just enjoy the reduced noise. This puts the camera at an gain over all other APS-C cameras and a few of the full frame cameras. Next, the movie mode is a mixed bag. It has the 1920x1080 at 25fps context, as well as 1280x720 at 30fps settings, and lower settings too. The 25fps setting is often quoted as a major predicament, with videographers wanting to shoot 23.976fps as a "cinema" mode, but it takes only a bit of video conversion to transform the frame rate to 23.976 and resample the 32k s/s stereo signal to match. So, if you're... K-5: the superlative APS-C DSLR camera I upgraded from the K-7. K-5 keeps the superior design, unparralleled build quality, super quiet shutter sound and unsettled ergonomics of K-7, has the best APS-C sensor. High ISO performance is stunning. What worth mentioning is that the Low ISO conduct is also outstanding, noticably better than the K-7. Also, the super high Dynamic Range is very supportive. AF speed is not much improved, but much more decisive. For DA* SDM lenses, the speed is not improved at all. All my lenses are SDM, but I find the speeds are intemperate enough. The AF-C mode is much improved, but can be improved further. The camera is fun to use, I bet everybody who has a K-5 loves it.I'd like to comment on the following two problems:1. stained sensor complication was solved already, all cameras having serial number larger than 3973*** are fine. Honestly this problem is now worry free.2. The bad Auto Focus under artificial light condition. I be convinced of this is a relatively unusual problem that...

Professor Kobre's Lightscoop, Standard Version Bounce Flash Device, Universal Model, fits over the Pop-up Flash of most SLR Cameras (American Photo Editor's Choice 2008)
Details
DescriptionProfessor Kobre's Lightscoop, a limit device for the pop-up flash on most 35mm DSLRs with interchangable lenses, slips over your camera's pop-up flash and allows you to rebound the flash like professionals bounce an expensive external flash. The Lightscoop is the low-priced answer to natural-looking bounce flash and digital photography lighting. (Even professionals like it for indifferent shooting!) No more harsh shadows, bleached faces, red-eye, or cave effect from direct pop-up flash! Reviewers order the story: "Bounce pop-up flash by snapping a Lightscoop over it, a little piece of persuadable genius," Popular Photography, March 2008 "...just as if you had used one of those reflector umbrellas that the pros use," David Pogue, New York Times, "Circuits." -- "It slips into your camera's hot shoe, panic right over the pop up flash, and redirects the camera's flash to a ceiling or wall. That's bounce, newborn, bounce... as essential as a lens cap," DingbatMag, the monthly review of Cool Tools "Your pop-up hasten doesn't have to suck... I was stunned by the difference," Terry White's Tech Blog The Type version has a normal mirror and is used in most situations. Compatible cameras Canon 5D, 7D, 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 60D, Rise up defy XTi OR 400, Rebel XT OR 350, Rebel XSI or 450, Rebel XS or 1000D, Rebel T1i, Freedom fighter T2i Fuji FinePix Pro S Series Nikon D40, D40x, D50, D60, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D100, D200, D30Customer ReviewsSplendid resultsFirst, this is NOT a diffuser, but a signet that bounces the light from the pop-up flash to a ceiling or wall. A diffuser softens the direct fire coming from the flash but can't evenly light foreground and background subjects. Bouncing the beam is how professionals get great lighting effects with their expensive flashes. You've probably seen them at travail at weddings or events, when they tilt the flash head to point up to the ceiling or sideways to a enclosure. So the Lightscoop instantly, easily, and inexpensively adds this kind of versatility to SLR cameras that have pop-up flashes -- without spending big bucks on another helping of equipment. I bought a new lens, for example. Maybe later I'll... Works but small in usefulness, fragile, overpriced Aroused Benters 1-star review really isn't that far off, but I will try to be kinder. Used at ISO 800 as Prof Kobre specifies (why aren't these provisos in the By-product DESCRIPTION?), with light colored ceilings no more than 10-12 feet high (I reflect on that might be stretching it, personally) and keeping the distances quite short, the Light Scoop can give pure results with your on-board flash. You -must- keep these limitations in mind when using the device, and again they should be in the product feather! I question Prof Kobres contention that "Modern cameras work fine at ISO 800", and awe what he means by "modern cameras". My Pentax k200 is modern enough I would hope, and I can certainly recount the difference between images taken at ISO 100 and 800, and I think that applies to most of us who are using "prosumer" class DSLR's in the sub-$1000 price range. It doesn't mean everything is crap at 800, but cheerily claiming "it's all good" is equally misleading. So why the... Works as advertised - greatly improves flash photos I use it on my Canon Digital Schismatic XT. It came with detailed instructions on how to set manual flash settings - after setting once the camera remembers them, so any every now I want to use the Lightscoop, I just switch the top dial to M, pop open the flash and slide the Lightscoop onto the sign shoe. As long as you have a light-colored ceiling or wall to bounce the flash off of, it works significant.Note if your lens is wider than 17mm or so (a pretty wide lens), some of the direct flash can "oozing" over the top, causing a bright strip on the top edge of the photo. I either adjust the zoom to be not quite so wide of the mark (I have a Canon 10-22mm EF-S), hold my hand up in front of the top edge of the Lightscoop, or crop the bright work the runway out afterwards.

DescriptionA upright solution to a never ending problem. Where is the cameras cap? Don't worry about loosing a cap anymore. Try this affordable yet serviceable gadget on your camera today!!Customer ReviewsA must for any camera.I have lens cap holders for each of my lenses and find them essential. And for the price, you can't beat it. I also purchased one to attach to my water bladder. Using a hole puncher, I punched a rip on the side where there is extra plastic to loop the elastic in and attached the round sticky part on the cap...it works marvellous! It works Well I am so far very cheerful, it sticks well and is keeping my cap from falling and losing it. You get what you pay for. I was a elfin disappointed with this product to be honest. The adhesive that holds the string piece to the string never stays devoted to so I am just as good as I was before I attached the lens cap holder...except now I normally have a piece of string hanging from the camera...astounding. |
