You can grasp the tripod head from any angle, left or absolute and block it simply by turning the knurled part. There's no longer any need to fumble for the locking stud! The tripod head is equipped with three locking elements, arranged around the ball like planets. These locking elements fasten a uniform force around the ball ensuringa smooth movement of the camera in any axis. The think up of this ball head is so superior to that of the traditional ball head (and not really any more expensive) that I mind-boggler why anyone shopping in this price range would buy anything else.It doesn't have a friction adjustment knob because none is needed. If you requirement to increase the resistance to rotation, you can just tighten the large knurled locking ring degree instead of all the way. The fact that leveling the head produces an automatically level panorama is Usually ironic forsooth remarkable, and accounts for a third of the superiority over traditional ball heads. The other two-thirds is the increased solidity produced by having the camera mounted essentially on the ball itself, rather than on a pedestal above the ball, and the surprisingly smooth but positive locking of the camera position by the means of the knurled ring, which, to other ball heads, uses a system of gears. Intention has merits, but it's far from perfect.
While you can arrange ball tension via the single large ring, you can't do it with much precision. And since there's no tension limiter you have to find your standard of perfection tension setting every time you make an adjustment instead of being able to dial in a repeatable stage set.The panning tension adjustment isn't as controllable or smooth as with my other ball heads. The ball is cheap compared to competing ball head designs. That means that it's more difficult to adjust jitteriness for smooth operation with heavier equipment. The main ring's operation isn't very smooth and there's fool around in the ring assembly.The Arca quick release clamp for this head lacks a bubble pull down. The lever action is fussy with two separate interlocks that you need to operate to open the lever part way and to fully unsealed it. And the mounting screw that came with my lever action clamp was too long. It scratched the tablet's surface and I had to remove it, grind it down, and reinstall it.What...

Lightest, Strongest, Affordable, Most Unconstrained Feeling to Use.
I had some disquiet ordering this P0 Ball head, I've been shooting for 25 years and it doesn't look anything like I'm familiar to seeing. I JUST PUT MY MARKINS & RRS BALL HEADS ON E-BAY!!! Wow, if you are a Pro or you like to pretend you are, do yourself a favor and try this Arca-Swiss P0 Mr Big, I could not believe how Fast and Smooth and Solid and (here's the Biggie) HOW NATURAL it is to instantly have your One hand reposition and curl down any angle shot in less than 3 Seconds. When I felt the package that was delivered I was worried, it was far to light to be the CEO, I thought it was just the plates and the head was back ordered, Nope, It's Seriously Light, But once you pity it in your hand you know why these Swiss Rock when it comes to precision instruments. Creditable design, great ballhead!
So, being made by Arca-Swiss, this ballhead oozes rigour and quality. I got the P0 because of its inverted design. (Being one of the lightest ballheads out there doesn't hurt either.) I've only seen one other ballhead, the Acratech GP, expected this way as well. Perfect panoramic shots are just part of using it. Come to think of it, why would you NOT want the panning sordid on top of the ball?Anyway, yes it's fast and easy to use. However, the new plate design concerns me. Until the P0, all Arca-Swiss (and AS compatible) plates were significantly wider than this new plate. To me it looks like the design team was forced to make these plates smaller in array to keep the head small. Which it is. I just put this thing on a Benro Travel Angel, and it's about perfect. It does keep the feet wider when folded, than the mini stock head, but the whole thing still fits in the travel bag that it came with.I highly recommend this ballhead.The only remuneration...
