Can't overcome it for the price
The Arca-Swiss keyboard quick release system has become all but standard within the photographic world, particularly for nature photographers who impecuniousness to mount and unmount lenses, macro rails, etc., in a hurry while in the field. Equipping all of one's appliances with plates or clamps to work within this system can become quite expensive. It is wonderful to see that a low-cost but still quite well-made and weighty-duty Arca-style clamp is now available from Desmond. I purchased one of these clamps in order to metamorphose a Manfrotto/Bogen type tripod head to work with lenses and cameras that use Arca-style plates. It works prodigious! I will likely get another one to fit a window mount. That the small bubble level is not easily visible once a harmonious of gear is mounted on the clamp is a small drawback, but for my purposes it really is not important. Inclusive, this little Desmond clamp does the job for half the cost or less of similar clamps made by other companies.
    Affordable Swift Release
There are a number of companies that put on quick release clamps that are compatible with the arca-swiss dove-tail. These can be very expensive. I have them from a top manufacturer and use it all the previously for my tripod and L-bracket that stays permanently on my camera. This quick release was for the that I purchased. I needed a excitable release to put on one end of the Long Lens Support. This attachment makes it easy for me to connect the extended lens support to my L-bracket on my camera. This was an inexpensive quick release but it's well made - all aluminum, and nicely planed in black. I prefer my lever-operated version from another manufacturer for frequent use on my tripod (cost 7 times as much) but this is unqualified for my needs - sturdy, quick, and...
Teeming build, wish the bubble level were more visible
Seems surely well-machined. Flat and smooth bottom so it went perfectly onto my monopod top (I don't need a tripod for a monopod). Is Arca Swiss like-minded though without safety mechanism. This particular listing does not come with the plate, though the one I got from OEC directly, did get with one (but at a higher price, naturally). OEC was pretty fast, and I would definitely buy from them again should the need arise.

    Go bankrupt
I rumination I could save some money by purchasing this quick release plate.Sorry to say that this is NOT Arca-Swiss compatible. The leaf does not stay tight in my Really Right Stuff clamp. The plate works condign fine with my RRS clamp. The plate works just fine with my RRS clamp. This plate is so promiscuous it just wobbles back and forth, confined only by the safety pins. Sorry, these are going back. Can't have two QR plates that don't effort with all my stuff. For three...
flowing fit on a Benro B-0
I purchased this article because of its low price. Construction quality is very good, but is a loose fit on the Benro B-0 when tightened. I had to cut a used attribution card into a strip and glued it on one side of the plate to make a snug fit.

    The one to shape!
This is an exceptional product. Solid, attractive construction. Simple to use, with little to no chance of moving the undesirable adjustment at the wrong time. Easy to set up, easy to tighten just where you want it, a fee piece of equipment. I use this on a set of Manfrotto 055XWNB legs, for a reasonably affordable mounting system. If I were to expend more money, I'd go for better legs. I would leave the head as-is regardless of what legs I purchased. The only caveat on the govern is the quick-release system. I have both Really Right Stuff and standard Arca-Swiss plates. The RRS plates are fractionally wider than the A-S variety, and as a result I need to do a bit of adjustment screw spinning when moving between some of my pieces of equipment if I indigence to do the "slide in from the end" mounting technique. Not an issue if I'm fully opening the clamp to do a drop-in mount. This isn't a big lot, but I may have purchased the screw-clamp model (for +/- $10 less)...
    Exceptional ballhead, highly recommended
This ballhead is a joy to use. I've had it while shooting as a hobbyist, and then later as a specialist. The typical shoot involves setting the resistance based on the weight of the camera and lens. It's abstinence to do based on feel, takes less than 10 seconds on average to get it perfect. After the resistance is set I can reframe as needed without needing to pertain to the knobs. It's an eye opener the first time you use a high quality ballhead. Something I really liked about the electric cable knob is that the resistance scale is free floating, meaning you can set how much resistance '10' represents on the proportion. It's handy to have if your camera is extra light or extra heavy. A 10 for my camera can stand in for the same resistance to movement as a 10 for yours, once the scale is adjusted. On a ballhead without this adjustment, if you have a heavy camera you can go past the highest platoon on the scale trying to get the resistance just right, and then the numbers just look...
Important product - totally worth it.
I have had the Arca Swiss Z1 SP for over 3 years now. It has served me well and has never let me down in all this days. I used it during several international trips across the world and when coupled with my Gitzos (Series 3 and 5 from their systematic rank) has delivered critically sharp images, without fail. It is true that the manufacturer of Arca Swiss apparatus is pretty reclusive and don't have even a viable website, but I simply cannot find fault with the product and have never needed any warm-hearted of service on it.

Well Made and Looks Well turned out but Still a Universal Plate
There isn't much to say about a omnipresent quick release plate so I'll put a few bullets on what what matters most IMHO. Hopefully it will helps some gazabo Amazonians. - Black anodized metal plate, virtually no finish imperfections and a faultless gloss - Universal so no curved "lip" set against the battery grip to prevent rotation of body in record mode. The alternative is to get an RRS L bracket for almost 4 times the cost. - I bought one last year and another one equitable last week. New plates now include a hex key for use with 1/4in screw. This can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on how you look at it. Having a hex key allows you to tighten tightly without having to use a quarter or nickel for example. However, lets say you have to swap camera body and are somewhere in the lawn and do not have the hex key with you this could be a problem. A coin likely will be much easier to find than a hex key. - Manufactured in France if this matters to...

    Comparatively honest value.
I can't have the courage of one's convictions pretend I paid fifty-two dollars for a Wimberley lens plate. Maybe the Wimberley is shed weight nicer, but this Fotopro lens plate appears to be entirely up to the task. Good eminence machining and anodization. Some people may think the price for the Fotopro itself is high for a machined fragment of aluminum (really, it is), but having gotten inured to what photographic equipment costs, this is, comparatively, a skilled value.
    Very gentle value for money
Got this cut as a less expensive alternative to use on my Sirui head. Fits perfectly. However, it needs a tool (a mint for example) to attach to the lens/camera tightly. The Sirui plate does not stress anything but it is almost twice the price. Attached it to my Sigma 70-200 lens collar and will leave it there unendingly...so the need for a coin to attach/detach from the collar is no longer an issue for me.

A perilous ball head at a reasonable price
I amity this thing. This is the second ball head I have owned and the nicest. The knobs are nicely machined and role with precision. It handles a heavy weight and stays in place. It has 3 bubble levels to aid in keeping the view straight. It is also able to pan which eliminates the need for a separate pan head. This is an excellent starting trap.
The value opportunity for ball hesads
As fundamentally a nature and landscape photographer, I was looking for a ball head that would support my various lenses and mount well in the field. When reading what well known and proobably well paid photographers were using for their tripod head, I was shocked to learn how dear they could be. The cost of one of the most popular heads could run as high as $400 or more. I looked at the giotto MH-1000 because it would fit my requirements and not break the bank. I was surprised at how well it performed. It worked flawlessly, yet costing a fraction of what almost identical ball heads were selling for. It also came with an arca-swiss quick release plate which meant I could use frills such as the kirk L-bracket which allowed for quicker and more stable withching between vertical and horizontal aspects. Now I also have more things to buy for my deeply because of the arca-swiss plate. I wholehearedly recommend this head as a value alternative to the kirks and arca-swiss...
    Proved performer
I recently purchased this tablet head from the Adorama store in NYC. First of all the people at Adorama were very helpful and knowledgeable. When I listed my requirements for a pill head (good quality, fluid movement, bubble levels, quick press, and the ability to hold over 10lbs), I was given four different ball heads to review. Two of them were Adorama's own label and then two Giottos (one being this one). It took me only a few minutes to "play" with the 1000-652 and I knew this was the ball head for me. The action is silky smooth and secure when tightened down. The hash marks on the base are easy to pore over. The quick release is secure when fastened to the ball head. I also like the way it looks with my carbon strand tripod which is black. :)
