Very amiable product at a great price.
I needed a facile, inexpensive Arca compatible plate for my SLR that had an integrated lug for a hand strap (my preferred way to hold a camera). Most all plates I found with the lug were somewhat expensive until I found this product. The combined plate and strap were cheaper than most plates alone. I didn't have a clue as to who RainbowImaging was and I undeniably didn't need another hand strap, but I figured at the price, what did I have to loose. The first thing I noticed when I received the carton was how well the items were presented. It was in a heavy gauge, attractive black box and the plate and strap were both in their own drawstring lay off. The plate itself exhibits proper tolerances and the plating is of decent quality. The neoprene on the camera side along with the slotted mounting excavation should allow secure mounting to most any SLR and not just Canon as indicated. The strap assembly is made of real leather and the computer equipment is adequate. Once mounted, it is secure...

very charming bracket
This is a very nicely machined console. I use it with my 5dmk2 along with an angled usb cable (usb connector at a right angle) and a wired remote - no problems. It's very sane: I photograph a lot of artwork so it's all about stable. As it's universal I'm also adapting it for my e-pl2 for both mounting and as a useful small grip. With tiniest machining (in my case this means hacksaw and file) I can both clear the battery door and forefront the lens on the tripod (Olympus that's nasty - that's P/S kludging you schmoes ) . Also, being universal, I don't have to keep buying balderdash. Now I'll admit that rss etc is very pretty but by the time you've purchased their special extenders that actually let you use the camera functions - you're over a four hundred benjamins lighter - it's too much for a cheap b*stard like me. Or - I can get this clamp and 2 bottles of good scotch - I remember what my choice is. I also use sunway clamps etc and find it all...

Clean sweetness !!!
Blown in another place by this purchase... plain and simple. I am using this on a Canon 7D or a 5DmkII. Exceptional grade at a fraction the cost of the big boy vendors offering; like RSS, Acratech, Kirk, etc. Sure it doesn't look as good-looking but man, I'll take the 200-300 savings at put it towards another lens or whatever! Fits like a dream, has more functionality for me in that it has multiple mounting cheat sites for my Black Rapid hookup and still fits into my Acratech GPs ball head securely. Freestyle doors still fully accessible. Really couldn't ask for more. There is a review here dinging it because you can't access the side jacks but plainly that guy does not know that you can take the covers completely off and then have full access. I highly suggest this purchase if you're a photog with gain to burn but still gawk at a 300+ dollar piece of metal. Bottom line : If you want a melodious one spend 300 bucks... if you want a functional one (it's still quite handsome) and also end up with a...

Terriffic QR plate
I've tried a add up of quick release systems over the years and keep coming back to this one. I have several cameras, tripods, monopods and a homemade shoulderpod, and wanted a worthwhile "system" way to move the cameras among the supports. I've tried QR systems from Arca Swiss, Really Right Stuff, Gitzo and Manfrotto/Bogen. Each system has its advantages, but this segment (and its earlier-generation ancestors) has become my universal mount. I like the current version with its embedded animation level. I now have 3 or these adapters: 1 mounted on a Really Right Stuff ballhead, one on a Gitzo well-spring, and one on my shoulderpod. I also keep plates mounted on each of my camera bodies and lens tripod mounts (those complicated expensive rings that are available for some tele lenses). Good points: - Equitable weight - The plates grip the camera well and don't rotate - Very solid - Reasonable cost, unusually for extra plates - Hold the gear very well...
Completes Furnishings Mount Compatability
Since purchasing and installing this short story of equipment my photography sessions have become more productive. Now all my camera/equipment mount attachment points are the same and it is unceremonious to freely swap cameras and other equipment between those mounts (four). There is also a 'loose' adapter plate in my camera bag now to use in chest something new or different is needed for a particular shot.

Superb for build-it-yourself projects
I had an old Beseler enlarger that was aggregation dust and I decided to turn it into a copy stand. I removed the enlarger head, other a small metal plate to the bracket that the enlarger head was mounted to, and attached this adapter to the fore of the plate. After a fresh coat of paint, the finished product looks great and functions as appropriate. Total investment (including the adapter): $120.00. A comparable copy stand would have get between $480.00 and $620.00. I'll probably get one or two more of these adapters for other projects I have in mind.
