Superb for what it is supposed to do
Character Video Review Length:: 9:16 MinsThe quality of the materials is wonderfull, i idea the ballhead would be so-so but actually it outperforms the tripod. The ballhead can handle the 11 pounds this combo claims but the tripod doenst at some angles/positions. The most foremost is to UNDERSTAND that if you buy this combo it doesnt mean that it will replace your regular (big) tripod. This tripod works wonderfull if you "hug" something with the legs. It also works illustrious for macro... as you can check in my video. This tripod would have save me a lot of time asking strangers to take pictures of me and my girlfriend while traveling in Paris and Brussels. In my video you can see how it handles a Nikon D90 + Freestyle Grip with 2 batteries + 18-200mm VRII + SB600 flash. I also tested it with a heavier D300 + 70-300mm VR + SB600 outburst. I am impressed with how this combo was able to keep everything thight hanging from a door and a tree subsidiary. I...
    Awful tripod for SLR cameras
Chap Video Review Length:: 0:40 MinsThe gorillapod foucs is a great tripod for slr proprietress's with large zoom lens. I use a and have a attached to it. Even with the lens fully extended the camera doesn't damage or drop down. The tripod is also very light weight which makes it ideal for travel. The only CON of the product is that the legs are a bit determined and makes it a bit hard to wrap the legs around an structure. If you can live with that this is the best travel tripod for slr users
In the end, a Gorillapod that will hold up my camera - usually
Gorillapods are significant, but you need one thats one-model stiffer than what Joby says. For example, get this one if you have a D300, and dont think it to hold it up very well with a 600mm/2.8 lens on it. But it will hold it up with medium size lenses. My sometime one, one model down, was not strong enough for me to be comfortable putting a D300 on with anything heavier than the 18-200 mounted. Reasonable be careful - its easy to dump your camera with this thing if you're not.

A tidy ball head at a reasonable price
I infatuation this thing. This is the second ball head I have owned and the nicest. The knobs are nicely machined and r with precision. It handles a heavy weight and stays in place. It has 3 bubble levels to aid in keeping the range straight. It is also able to pan which eliminates the need for a separate pan head. This is an excellent starting trap.
The value choice for ball hesads
As for the most part a nature and landscape photographer, I was looking for a ball head that would support my various lenses and function well in the field. When reading what well known and proobably well paid photographers were using for their tripod mind, I was shocked to learn how expensive they could be. The cost of one of the most popular heads could run as high as $400 or more. I looked at the giotto MH-1000 because it would fit my requests and not break the bank. I was surprised at how well it performed. It worked flawlessly, yet costing a fraction of what correspond to ball heads were selling for. It also came with an arca-swiss quick release plate which meant I could use frills such as the kirk L-bracket which allowed for quicker and more stable withching between vertical and horizontal aspects. Now I also have more things to buy for my administrator because of the arca-swiss plate. I wholehearedly recommend this head as a value alternative to the kirks and arca-swiss...
    Complete performer
I recently purchased this shot head from the Adorama store in NYC. First of all the people at Adorama were very helpful and knowledgeable. When I listed my requirements for a capsule head (good quality, fluid movement, bubble levels, quick deliverance, and the ability to hold over 10lbs), I was given four different ball heads to review. Two of them were Adorama's own manufacturer and then two Giottos (one being this one). It took me only a few minutes to "play" with the 1000-652 and I knew this was the ball head for me. The motion is silky smooth and secure when tightened down. The hash marks on the base are easy to be familiar with. The quick release is secure when fastened to the ball head. I also like the way it looks with my carbon thread tripod which is black. :)

    Consummate Little Head
Undeniable it's no Kirk or RRS ballhead but it is great for sitting a camera and leaving it (time lapse) which is what I use it for. Very definite, has no problem with a 5dmkII, battery grip and 70-200f2.8

I use this shot head on a tripod that I use for air travel because I can pack the tripod in a suite case. Perfect for that use as well as outer uses.

    Marvellous PanHead
I bought this PanHead along with the Induro AT114 Tripod to originate pictures to turn into panoramas. I'm not sure what the "1-Way" means in its name, but it easily adjusts to any configuration for typical or fisheye panorama pictures. Indexing marks make it very easy. This sturdy, costly quality PanHead not only is easy to setup and adjust, but is a work of art in itself. Looks great - works accomplished
The new example for tripod heads
I am very pleased with the performance of the Induro PHQ1. Since it was released, I have been eyeing it, but really wasn't sure if it was quality the price tag. Even more frustrating, living in Hawaii, I was unable to find a local shop that stocked the output - most had yet to hear of the product. Since I am a very hands on try-before-you-buy kind of photographer, not to mention the lack of overall reviews around the internet, I remained ambivalent to purchase it. Having finally taken the leap and purchased the PHQ1, I can unequivocally state that this is the most appropriate tripod head I've used to date, and for me it is worth the price. The construction is very robust and valid. Nary a bit of wiggle or unsteadiness at any joint or on the mounting plate. And while of solid construction, it exceedingly doesn't weigh a considerable amount, especially given the features and functionality of the unit. As for the functionality, notice the clear and outstanding...
Amazon screwed the Denominate but ts still worth 5 stars
This is a 5 way capsule head (no such thing as a 1 way ball head). I got it for repeatability, flexibility and ease of positioning skillfully. I am using it for forensics and table top work; it is great. It doesn't have the precision of some of the higher end 3 way heads but it is a lot more persuadable and costs $100s less. I plan to use mine mostly with the Joby Gorilla Pod for a project detailing wood finishes. Worthy gadget if you need it. BTW don't take this out of the box and go on a paid shoot. It is easy to adjust but complicated and you don't want to look like a dog mountaineering a ladder in front of family, friends or clients. BTW very limited use in video. I think that it would be of the most use on slowly evolving scenes or where you extremely much lock the camera down.

Manfrotto 234 Monopod Tilt Head (Replaces 3232)

    Bogen Manfrotto

    Price: $25.00

    Description

A must for you monopod, this is a comprehensible tilt head to allow a camera on a Monopod to be turned 90° to provide either vertical or flat format. This replaces the Bogen Manfrotto 3232.

    Customer Reviews

    Amicable tilt head
It's rated to 5.5 lbs, and handles my 70-200 + 40D without slipping. It's well made - the photo on Amazon does it negligible credit, so I'm uploading some of my own. It's also larger than it looks. It's exactly what it purports to be - a tilt head.
    Manfrotto 234 turning point
I was judgement I should have ordered the Manfrotto head that had the locking plate but after getting this head I realized that I would be unbiased fine without the locking head design. It seems to hold the camera well and although I have the 70-300 lens it seems to hold it in arise just fine without drooping. I like it and would say it's okay for general use.
    Well-proportioned Match for a Monopod
This was the strategic head for a monopod (I use a Manfrotto 680B). I can swivel the Tilt head and camera vertically - and since the monopod itself can easy as pie turn left or right, I did not need horizontal swivel capability in the head. And it is firm, reasonably priced and sturdy.
