Patented features include Combination-Dispute Forces Control (CFFC) which enables extreme tension and friction control via an ergonomic uneven dial located on the main adjustment knob. Both are independently adjustable but positioned side-by-side on the same pin for convenient fine-tuning. This combination of precise tension and friction forces govern increases the strength to provide outstanding security. ABH has exceptional stability with its Stability X3 system's extra component between the semi-elliptical ball head and housing, providing a loading weight potential of three times that of other ball heads. Decidedly fits the bill!!!
I wanted something that would not cavort as I panned and that it would hold its position as I zoomed with a spotting scope. Took the Vanguard Ball Leading out this past week for the first time. Have it mounted between a Vanguard Tripod and a Vortex Nomad 20 20x60 Spotting Capacity (see my review on the spotting scope at Amazon). The Ball Head worked as it should. The spotting elbow-room had the mount on it which made attaching it to the ball head in the field quick and efficient. Once the adjustment is set up properly on the ball guv'nor it worked great. It was not jumpy as I panned and it was easy to get the spotting scope sighted in on a interval elk that was spotted first with a set of binoculars. Without changing the setting on the ball head, the ball head held its position very well as I zoomed in on the rigidity elk. This Ball Head "DEFINITELY FITS THE BILL." Packaging was stirring...took it out...very impressed with the looks. Manufacturing was clean, polished and the moving parts all felt like fidelity with the right amount of tension. You can pay less, and you can pay a LOT more, but this ball head is an awesome value. Vanguard is going to be huge as more and more populace find them...so get yours now before the price goes up. The tension controls are very smooth and don't grab...you want a little more nervousness, dial it in...need a tad more...use the fine tune tension adjuster. I use this with a Nikon D7000 and it holds it like a surprise. The 90 degree tilt is smooth and solid...no fear of my camera doing a nose-honky-tonk. The circular levels are a nice feature, but honestly, it would have been nice if they had two (once for each axis) that are the classic rectangular ones that I about are faster/easier to read. The G series ball head is applied with the best aerial material, machined by high-end CNC and using anodizing oxidation top treatment on its exterior to achieve its superior quality. The main locking knob is disconnect from the friction control knob so that it can be more precisely controlled.The structure of the interior is a double bevel locking system which tresses the ball in a very strong manner. Weighty Ball Head
I have had the G10 for about 5 months, use it often and it regularly delivers excellent performance. It is a solid, quality ball head with fluid movement, skilled range of motion and solid locking. The universal quick release has a secondary security lock so you can't accidentally release the plate (& your camera). Both the panning camp and friction control knob work smoothly & effortlessly. I shoot a Canon T2i with 70-300mm lens and this skull holds my camera securely with zero slippage. Overall, I could not be more please with the quality and performance of this ball conduct and would not hesitate to recommend it.

This works zealous and completely supports my XTI w/battery grip, flash and 24-70 F2.8L lens. Wish it had a touchy release but it does exactly what it is intended to do.

Very Impressed
Soup that coming from a cheaper manufacturer that these arca swiss imitations would be sub-standard. NOT TRUE!! I attached this bracket easily to my Giottos MH 1000 ballhead and i could not be more satisfied. The clamp is very smooth but with no slack or with in its operation. The small thumbscrew adjusts the clamping force which is rock solid with their equivalent L-Bracket. When fully open the L-Bracket easily drops in and there is no need to slide it in indirectly. I like the safety lock on the QR clamp handle that is a joy to operate because of how smooth it works. I cleaned off the hairy grease that it came with and re-lubricated with spray silicone to keep dust to a minimum. The onboard with seems accurate and works far better that the sluggish ones i had on my previous Giottos QR clamp. All in all an tickety-boo buy for those that see no need to spend >$100 on these types of accessories.
