ARCA-SWISS Monoball Z1 SP Single Pan with Classic Quick Set Device , Supports 122 lbs.
Details
DescriptionARCA-SWISS monoball Z Stronger, lighter A conductor of tripod head design for over 40 years, ARCA-SWISS is setting new standards revisiting their B-series models and introducing the Z-Series, only just as elegant, and even more perfect. The size and weight of the ball heads have been significantly reduced. The bit and fastening are now assembled using a patented bayonet mount. Various accessories can thus be apace mounted to adapt the tripod as required. In addition to the proven, patented Arca-Swiss features, including aspherical capsule heads, axial clamping and PMF (progressive motion related friction control), the Z-Series also boasts new complicated developments and optimized materials and coatings. The new series can withstand an incredible 60 kg (122 lbs) off-hinge. Z-Series heads are available as Version Z SP (single pan) and Version Z DP (double pan). The monoball Z DP with its number two panning mechanism below the camera mount keeps the camera perfectly vertical to the modern plane, for perfect panoramic stitching of multiple images.Customer ReviewsActive, smooth ballheadI bought the Arca-Swiss Z1 ballhead to use in conjunction with the Wimberley Sidekick gimbal. The Sidekick puts a side shipment on the ballhead it's used with, loading the weight of the camera, Sidekick and a super-telephoto lens on the ballhead with the foremost flipped over 90-degrees. The Sidekick has vertical panning bearings, but no horizontal panning r, so it relies on the panning function of the ballhead to provide horizontal gimbal action. Hence, the ballhead must be strong and have a suave horizontal panning functions. The Z1 is excellent for this use, offering very high load capacity and a burnished panning function separate from the ballhead. When the Sidekick is mounted there's no play in any plane. I also use the Z1 for scenic photography and macro. One noteworthy need was for me to switch from a body with a super-tele lens to another body with a wide hunt for lens in just a few seconds. That's easy to do with the Arca-Swiss/Sidekick combination. I just slip off the... Everything I wanted in a tripod head I was chiefly a " hand held" photographer until I injured my arm last year. I've had to switch to being a tripod user and it hasn't been an nonchalantly transition. I got my tripod, but couldn't make up my mind about a head. I researched and asked questions of my photographer friends for a couple months before buying this tripod direct. I went back and forth between the top brands - Kirk, Really Right stuff and this one. I'm not a rich individual by any means and to me, this was a big purchase, so I wanted to get it right the first time so I wouldn't be wishing I had gotten a unconventional head a year from now. Currently I use a Canon Eos Rebel XTi. (and a Canon Elan film camera) The heaviest lenses I have are my 100mm macro and my 28 - 135mm so actually most any head would do, BUT, if things go as planned, I want to upgrade to a Canon 5D next year, and hope to add a 400mm lens to my bag, so I wanted a be in that would handle that as well as what I have now. This one should do that without a...

Did a lot of research between Dolica, Manfrotto, Vangaurd ballheads, on procedure and in stores. I had already purchased the Benro A-198EX tripod after a lot of research on the same tripods from the companies mentioned. I chose the Benro tripod even though there were no reviews for it yet & did not see it in any stores, it was a bit of a without question jump at of faith, but based on the feature set & specs I ordered it. (Benro site has more info than amazon) After receiving it and seeing how well the tripod was made as well as how it operated etc, I had no tough nut to crack w/choosing the Benro head as well (it had no reviews either). The head is smooth as silk through all its movements. The panning is prodigious if needed, although w/the tripod it also has panning capability & it is very smooth and can be adjusted to be as stiff or loose as needed. One why and wherefore among others for choosing the Benro over others is that the actual ball is machined metal... A Slender Ballhead It was in shortage of a decent ball head and tripod so I went with this Benro 0 ballhead and it has proved to be a excellent get. It's not too expensive and the quality is evident the moment I used it. I use it with a Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod and it makes for a subtle lightweight support system. Highly recommended. Supports my gimbal ward This is an A-, affordable ballhead that supports my gimbal head and Canon 300mm f/4L IS setup. This worked for me; hence, a 5 of 5 rating.

Arca-Swiss B1 Ballhead Review | Dan & Sherree & Patrick
I've purchased a lot of photography apparatus over the years. Cameras, lenses, flashes, personal belongings, overlay, remembrance cards, tidiness cloths, and the listing goes on and on. I've also purchased a few tripods and ballheads. Back in the halfway point of 2000, I bought an Arca-Swiss B1 ballhead , and it's the only one I've acquainted with since. I had in use accustomed to a few many heads before purchasing the B1 and was by discontent with all of them. I when all is said started giving recompense to all the recommendations for the B1 and look over Thom Hogan's Serious Backing....
Arca-Swiss Monoball Z1 Ballhead Review
A to the point intro to ballheads . . Ballheads are one of the most adroitly and most dominant types of tripod heads at. As the name implies, a ballhead consists of a tablet with a neck that allows divers camera/lens mounting options to be betrothed to it. . This bit lives in a socket within a hard-nosed metal box with ill will tiller. Ballheads are shamed, nonchalantly to use, opinionated and accelerated to snare and are the power tripod...
