Critical alternative to pricier plates
I got this memorandum to have an L-plate on my Pentax K-5. It fits snugly without rotating and the lip on the bracket fits perfectly against the back of the camera fullness, making it very secure. It fits into the two Arca-Swiss tripod heads that I own. It does NOT allow the battery entrance way of the K-5 to open when installed. Not a problem for me, but I may but a few mm off the end to allow the battery door to open.
I tenderness it! Way better than I expected!
I had been looking at the Actually Right Stuff L plates for my new 60D, but I'm so happy I saved money and went with this plate. It fit my 60D marvellously. I was concerned about it covering the battery compartment, but not at all. It's solidly built and beautiful. I'm thrilled I went with this!!
Sufficient Quality
I was surprised at the develop intensify quality of this L-Bracket. I do not own any original arca swiss equipment to compare but i can tell from the finish and weight that it will last. Fits very smoothly on a Nikon D200 allowing full opening of battery compartment. However it does not allow the side caps for the USB and video out/power adaptor to exposed (hence 4 stars). Personally i don't mind this because i do not use these facilities on the D200 since i use a card reader. I love the slim outline and ablity to clamp camera portrait to do panoramas. Bought this with their 60mm arca type QR clamp and both came in well padded boxes BUT with no handbook/instructions. The clamp is also excellent quality (see my review for it - [...]).

very ladylike bracket
This is a very nicely machined bracket. I use it with my 5dmk2 along with an leaning usb cable (usb connector at a right angle) and a wired remote - no problems. It's very stable: I photograph a lot of artwork so it's all about long-standing. As it's universal I'm also adapting it for my e-pl2 for both mounting and as a useful small grip. With minimal machining (in my instance this means hacksaw and file) I can both clear the battery door and center the lens on the tripod (Olympus that's risqu - that's P/S kludging you schmoes ) . Also, being universal, I don't have to keep buying stuff. Now I'll admit that rss etc is very pretty but by the previously you've purchased their special extenders that actually let you use the camera functions - you're over a couple hundred benjamins lighter - it's too much for a cheaply b*stard like me. Or - I can get this clamp and 2 bottles of good scotch - I know what my choice is. I also use sunway clamps etc and find it all...

Wholesome sweetness !!!
Blown in another place by this purchase... plain and simple. I am using this on a Canon 7D or a 5DmkII. Exceptional worth at a fraction the cost of the big boy vendors offering; like RSS, Acratech, Kirk, etc. Sure it doesn't look as lovely but man, I'll take the 200-300 savings at put it towards another lens or whatever! Fits like a dream, has more functionality for me in that it has multiple mounting upon b ruin sites for my Black Rapid hookup and still fits into my Acratech GPs ball head securely. Freestyle doors still fully accessible. Really couldn't ask for more. There is a review here dinging it because you can't access the side jacks but plainly that guy does not know that you can take the covers completely off and then have full access. I highly suggest this purchase if you're a photog with change to burn but still gawk at a 300+ dollar piece of metal. Bottom line : If you want a fetching one spend 300 bucks... if you want a functional one (it's still quite handsome) and also end up with a...

Hysteria the d200 perfectly. Not sure how it would fit on other models but i would deffinitlly try this less expensive solution first.Solid and well built. Shipping was A-.

Virtue plate with affordable price!
I was cautious to buy this product. I bought Generation 4 before to use with my 500/2.8 and I also have RRS plate. I love them. When I saw this product and its price, I fair wanted to give it a try (for my Nikon 300/2.8 VR). From the product info, I'm supposed to buy LP-115 for that lens. I kind-heartedness I ordered the wrong one, but actually this LP-100 fits perfectly with Nikon 300/2.8 VR foot. I even intend it would be a little too long for LP-115. Anyway, the quality of the product is great. It does not look cheapo as I would trust. It comes with everything needed. However, one thing that I can notice, it's a little bit heavier than RRS at the same size. But it's subtle though. If you need to save some $$, this is it.

Well-expected lens plate
If you lack a lens plate with anti-twist tabs, the entire RI LP-nnn series works unusually well. And the price is really right.One nice feature is the slot for the mounting screw comes to within 1/2" of the anti-treatment tab. I have a couple of small footprint spotting scopes (and some mini clamps) that need this curt distance to engage the tab. On some competing lens plates, the slot stops too far away from the tab, delineation the anti-twist feature useless.I also find the centerline 1/4" accessory hole comes in nearby for all kinds of ad hoc mounting applications (e.g. mini-clamp to make a nodal slide or macro decry, mini-ballhead for outboard mic, etc.). I have competing lens plates that lack this tear, and I quickly come to miss it.As for compatibility, I own dozens of Arca-Swiss style plates and clamps from seven diverse manufacturers (including Arca-Swiss). Works, but gives a tiny
Does the job in the end, but I noticed that the clutch isn't as tight with a Monoball Z1 Flip-lock quick release mechanism as arca-swiss brand plates. There is a young slide forward and backward when I use this with a Sony 70-400mm G lens and tripod collar. I don't entertain the idea it will completely slide off, but it makes me nervous about using the plate in the long term, and I will quite replace this plate with an Arca-Swiss brand plate.
